An employer is exploring using the Pingwyn smartphone tracking application to monitor the locations of 50-200 employees on iPhones. The system would use GPS data from employees' iPhones to track their locations on a secure, cloud-based map accessible to supervisors. Supervisors could monitor locations in real-time and access contact info for each employee. The proposal includes developing and deploying the tracking app, with pricing of $8,000 to cover through the end of 2014 and then $4.99/user/month after.
