Skrillex, born Sonny John Moore in 1988 in Los Angeles, is an American electronic music producer known for electro house, dubstep and glitchstep. He was the lead singer of the post-hardcore band From First to Last between 2004 and 2007 before leaving to focus on his solo career as a dubstep producer, adopting the stage name Skrillex. Moore was born in Los Angeles to adoptive parents and showed an early interest in skate-punk and other genres before joining From First to Last at age 16 and producing two albums with the band.
