This video tutorial provides an overview of the SketchUp interface and demonstrates basic modeling techniques. It begins with an introduction slide and then: 1) Gives a tour of the SketchUp interface, explaining the toolbar, design space, and tool information panels. 2) Shows how to use the Rectangle tool to make a simple 2D rectangle and the Push/Pull tool to extrude it into a 3D shape, adding a roof. 3) Demonstrates using additional tools like the Line, Move, Rectangle and Arrow tools to add a door, window and delete part of the model.

2. Scene 1
This picture will be shown at the beginning of each video as an introduction to the
content. Along with this I will have title of the video, under the picture. I will not
waste time with a long intro, as this sends the message to the viewer quickly.

3. Scene 2
I give a tour of the SketchUp interface, outlining the different sections of the
application.
• Top: Toolbar – How to get the name of each tool under each icon.
• Middle: Design Space
• Bottom: Tool Information

4. Scene 3
Content: I demonstrate how to use the ‘Rectangle tool’ to make a simple
rectangle, by going through the steps to making this shape.

5. Scene 4 & 5
Content:
• I demonstrate how to use the ‘Push/Pull’ tool to convert a 2D shape into a 3D
shape. I then show how to add a roof to the house, using the ‘Line’ and
‘Move’ tool.

6. Scene 6
Content:
• I use the ‘Rectangle’ tool to add both a door and window to the house.
• I then use the ‘Arrow’ tool to enable you to delete the door shape, allowing
you to see inside the house.

7. Scene 7
Content:
I add a chimney to the house by drawing a 2D image of the chimney and then
using the ‘Push/Pull’ tool to make the shape into a 3D image.

Content:
• I show the use of the ‘Paint Bucket’ tool to add colour to a design.
• I show how navigate through the different categories of colours and
demonstrate the steps to adding colour’s too surface.

9. Scene 9
Content:
• I use the ‘Push/Pull’ tool to add an overhang to the house.
• I place a pillar to support the overhang by using the ‘Circle’ tool and
‘Push/Pull’ tool
