The pickling line prepares coils for cold rolling by passing them through a scale breaker, acid tank, wash stations, and applying a pickling oil coating. The coils are then sent to the cold rolling mill. In the cold rolling mill, coils are fed through multiple passes between work rolls and back-up rolls to reduce them to the required gauge. Emulsion is sprayed between the rolls and coils for lubrication and removed through an underground filtering system before being stored in clean and dirty tanks. After reaching the required gauge, the coils are strapped and sent to annealing.
