Singapore with mental
health conditions did not
receive treatment in the
past 12 months, 75% of
those citing high costs of
treatment as a deterrent.

Fear of being judged or
appearing weak
Not encouraging

health disorder
Younger adults group 18 to
29 has the highest
prevalence at 21.5%

Persona prefers a
quiet place as it's
peaceful and relaxing.
Crowded places make
them feel
overwhelmed and
uncomfortable.
Persona's main issues
are within themselves
like self-esteem,
temperament, and
afraid of being judged.
Persona often
compares oneself to
the people around.
Persona wants to be able to
make the people around me
happy.
Persona aspires to have a
better outlook in life.
Persona is able to provide for
themselves financially in the
future so as to lead a
comfortable life.
1) I need a quiet place to unwind and relax
whenever life gets too hectic.
2) I need to fix issues within myself in order
to lead a happier life
3) I need to be a better figure in the lives of
the people around me
3 needs statement:
ORIGINAL CONCEPT 1
Reduced Stress: Serene
environments often feature natural
elements such as greenery, open
spaces, and calming views. These
elements can help reduce stress
levels, as they are known to promote
relaxation and lower the production
of stress hormones.
Mindfulness and Distraction: Coloring
requires focus and attention to detail,
which can help individuals practice
mindfulness. Mindfulness involves
being fully present in the moment and
can divert attention away from
negative or distressing thoughts
associated with depression.
Stress Reduction: Yoga often
incorporates relaxation techniques,
deep breathing, and mindfulness
practices, which can help reduce
stress and lower the levels of stress
hormones in the body. This can be
particularly beneficial for managing
the physiological symptoms
associated with depression.
Distraction from Symptoms:
Engaging in crocheting can serve
as a healthy distraction from
depressive symptoms. Focusing on
a constructive and enjoyable
activity can help shift attention
away from negative thoughts and
feelings.
ORIGINAL CONCEPT 2
Accessibility: An AI app can be
accessed anytime and anywhere,
providing users with immediate
support and resources whenever they
need it. This can be especially helpful
for individuals who may have difficulty
accessing traditional in-person
therapy.
Customized Support: AI
algorithms can personalize the
app's content and
recommendations based on
individual user preferences,
needs, and progress. This
tailoring can enhance
engagement and relevance.
Self-Tracking and Progress
Monitoring: An AI app can allow
users to track their mood,
activities, and progress over time.
This can help users and their
mental health professionals
monitor changes and adjust
treatment plans accordingly.
Privacy and Anonymity: AI
apps can provide a degree of
anonymity that some
individuals may find more
comfortable when discussing
their emotions and mental
health struggles.
