The document discusses the dangers of hydrogen-filled balloons that are commonly sold by street vendors called "gubareywalas". While hydrogen is cheaper than safer alternatives like helium, it is highly flammable and its use in balloons has led to injuries when the balloons have exploded near heat or flames. However, vendors continue using hydrogen due to its lower cost, while being aware of the fire risks. The document calls for raising awareness about the dangers of hydrogen balloons and safer alternatives to protect public safety.

Spanish Culture

I took a business course while I was in Spain and actually talked a lot about this topic. One thing I remember specifically talking about was how internationally known brands were trying to translate their slogans and it just wasn't coming out right. One example we talked about was the Pringles original slogan "once you pop, you can't stop" and how they were trying to translate it for different countries. "Pop" isn't really a recognized word in Spanish (I'm not sure if it's the same with other languages, but I want to assume yes) it's more of a sound that we made a word for. So there is clearly a challenge in trying to get the Spanish people to understand their slogan. Something we discussed was just not translating it at all. I like this strategy because it eliminates the possibility of error and misunderstanding, but I also dislike this strategy because not every one knows English.. obviously.
Another idea could be just to change the slogan all together to cater to each country/culture; something that they can relate to. It would take a lot of understanding and knowledge of that culture, but it can be done and would definitely have a greater impact on the consumer.

One company that is looking to go global is the National Football League. It is certainly an interesting pursuit since American Football is scarcely played outside of the United States. However, the NFL continues scheduling games in London every year and will even have a game in Mexico City in 2016. By nature, football is a violent game. The point is to hit the player with the ball as hard as you can in order to get the ball out. In some ways, it is indicative of the American culture, we can be seen as violent. After all, America has been involved in many wars and most video games, (at least the popular ones) are shooting/violent games. Whether we like or not violence is a big part of the culture here in America.
However, that is not true for most other countries. Countries like China and Japan place a strong emphasis on respect and teamwork. It would be hard to imagine games like football being successful. The most popular sport around the globe is the other football, soccer, which is the polar opposite of American football in terms of violence. That being said, in order for football to be successful in countries that do not have a violent culture the game would need to change dramatically. After many changes, the game might not fit into the culture here in America. Therefore, in my opinion, I do not think the NFL should continue in its efforts to expand the game across the globe. With major culture differences, I believe it is just a misguided effort and a waste of time.

Like no other being, the butterfly embodies the
change in life and the resurrection of the soul
from the body.
Brand
âme rose = pink soul
With its two mythological meanings, the
butterfly forms the perfect transition for
a wonderful culinary story.
On one hand there is the symbolism for
change and a new beginning. On the
other hand is the meaning of the re-
born soul.
And because there are already several
restaurants and cafes called "Butterfly"
or "Papillon", "âme rose" is a much
more elegant metaphor and at the same
time limitlessly romantic.
Brand Story
The aviary with a cherry tree and living,
colorful butterflies forms the center of
the "âme rose" restaurant.
According to the symbolism of the
butterfly, Mediterranean dishes are
completely reinterpreted. 150,000
different types of butterflies inspire the
creativity of the chefs in their search for
the soul of each menu.
At the bar, colorful butterflies are used
as inspiration for new drink and cocktail
interpretations.
âme rose stands for the reborn
culinary soul inspired by butterflies.
Concept
The idea is to be inspired by the sight of
butterflies, to let their wonderful colors
lead the chefs to extraordinary dishes.
On the menu, the guest can
see which type of butterfly
the chef and his team used
as an impulse to conjure up
each new culinary creation.
In this completely new type of
culinary interpretation, the
âme rose kitchen takes place
in a globally unique position.
This concept works just as well for a 5-
course evening dinner as it does for a
brunch at lunchtime.
Remember, the butterfly is also a symbol of
change!

Story telling
The literature on butterflies is inexhaustible and the source of inspiration is huge. The kitchen,
for example, can be inspired by the colors or by the regions in which certain species occur.
This results in an incredible number of ways to tell stories. Stories about butterflies and stories
about culinary interpretations.
New perspectives
Many restaurants use "butterfly"
or "papillon" only as a name or as
a decoration idea.
The âme rose brand is breaking
new ground, because it is
dedicated to the topic as culinary
inspiration and as the basis for a
new way of bringing out the soul
of an extraordinary kitchen.

This document summarizes key takeaways from the 2015 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. It discusses how cognitive neuroscience can be applied in advertising to make messages memorable by turning them into distinct memories encoded in the appropriate part of the brain. Brands must have a distinctive identity wrapped in an emotional story that creates meaningful connections. Data should be used creatively to target ads effectively. Brands need to focus on experiences rather than being rational and listen to audiences have conversations.

The Veterans Health Administration case study examines efforts at the Durham VA Health Care System to decrease readmission rates by improving care transitions. Readmissions are costly and often preventable. The VA uses the SAIL model to evaluate hospital performance on various quality measures, including care transitions. The Durham VA focuses on streamlining processes like discharge planning and communication with outside providers to ensure veterans receive needed follow-up care after leaving the hospital. This aims to improve access, care quality, and restore public trust in the VA system.

butterflies, to let their wonderful colors
lead the chefs to extraordinary dishes.
On the menu, the guest can
see which type of butterfly
the chef and his team used
as an impulse to conjure up
each new culinary creation.
In this completely new type of
culinary interpretation, the
âme rose kitchen takes place
in a globally unique position.
This concept works just as well for a 5-
course evening dinner as it does for a
brunch at lunchtime.
Remember, the butterfly is also a symbol of
change!

Story telling
The literature on butterflies is inexhaustible and the source of inspiration is huge. The kitchen,
for example, can be inspired by the colors or by the regions in which certain species occur.
This results in an incredible number of ways to tell stories. Stories about butterflies and stories
about culinary interpretations.
New perspectives
Many restaurants use "butterfly"
or "papillon" only as a name or as
a decoration idea.
The âme rose brand is breaking
new ground, because it is
dedicated to the topic as culinary
inspiration and as the basis for a
new way of bringing out the soul
of an extraordinary kitchen.
âme rose - The reborn culinary
soul inspired by butterflies.
Be inspired!

Apples Think Different Ad
The think different vintage campaign used by Apple was the turning point to the reputation and economic situation of the company in the market. The campaigns great back ground, context and visual presentation worked for apple making it successful and outstanding in the market which saved it from a state of impending bankruptcy. Its success was highly enhanced by the effective use of pathos, ethos and logos which make it appear ancient though a modern brand advertisement. These three convince the audience or customers how the company thinks differently. The great turn around could have not been in place were it not for Steve Jobs who after being fired in 1985 was recalled in 1997 and found the company only four months to bankruptcy. His strategy to returning the company to glory was through improving the companies advertising after they had been spending a lot of money without returns.
In a campaign which ran from 1997 to 2002, Jobs used two strategies namely the TV commercial and a print campaign. In this paper, we shall look at the effectiveness of the ethical appeals or credibility used to convince the audience, the impact of emotional appeals used and finally the logic or clarity of the claims used which are the strengths in the campaign that led to the revival of Apple.
The commercial starts with a 60 seconds black screen with the announcer Richard Dreyfuss, an American actor narrating several quotes from notable revolutionists starting with the manifesto “Here’s to the crazy ones by Albert Einstein” followed by the words; “The misfits. The rebels. The trouble makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They are not fond ofrules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do”. As the voice speaks, the images of several revolutionists flash over the screen beginning with Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Mohammed Ali, Bob Dylan, Yoko Ono and Ted Turner just to mention a few. The list of inspiring images ends with the image of an anonymous girl which is followed by the disappearance of the think different into white, Apples Logo and the commercial ends. The print ad comprised of billboards, posters and magazines which had one of the inspiring characters, the words think different and the multicolored Apples logo. The posters and billboards were placed on famous cities like San Francisco while the magazine ad was available in Newsweek and other mainstream magazines.
The campaign uses logos or reasoning effectively by honoring great revolutionists while using the ration that positive change is brought about by creative thinkin.

1. #Simplecopywritingtricks_1: WORD MANIPULATION
Boye Adefila 25/01/2011
By manipulating words in certain popular sentences,
often old sayings, political slogans, idioms or
proverbs, a copywriter can bring new life to his/her
brand promise.
Playing on words is an impactful trick when carefully
used. Like every sweet thing however, too much of it
can be distasteful.
Play on words could involve a word or phrase that has
more than one possible meaning. Such double meaning
could be implied by the context of the word, for
example within a specific phrase or sentence.
In a way this is similar to the use of puns in
sentences. Puns are words that have connotative
meanings either by virtue of how they sound or
similarity in spelling with the original word.
Below is an example of such word manipulation.
Example 1
‘Hey barman, give us a beer hug?’
Note that the word ‘beer’ in the sentence above would
ordinarily not fit into the world of ‘bear hugs’, as
2. the correct or expected word ‘bear’ refers to a certain
furry animal. Trust me you don’t want a real ‘bear
hug’.
However, it’s a common case of creative conspiracy in
which writers conspire with the target audience in a
way that only them (audience) can understand such
hidden meanings (such as the manipulative inclusion of
the word ‘beer’ in place of ‘bear’).
In this case the message is ‘Serve us with loads of
larger beer!’
In a world where routine is the enemy and
predictability ushers in boredom, customers need
variety…even excitement and adventure. Word
manipulation is one #Simplecopywritingtrick that
delivers this.
Example 2
‘keep Lagos Klin’
This is an example of how a sentence changes in meaning
to the benefit of a certain brand. The brand in
question is a popular white detergent known and
registered as ‘KLIN’ in the Nigerian soap industry.
If you were born and bred in Lagos-Nigeria or kept
abreast of issues as a visitor either in the 80s, 90s
or early part of the millennium, you would remember a
popular government slogan ‘Keep Lagos clean’ apparently
urging residents and visitors to please keep the city
clean.
3. Now that we have manipulated ‘keep Lagos clean’ to read
‘keep Lagos Klin’, it simply means (to the target
audience) that all residents and visitors in Lagos
should use Klin detergent…
This would probably be more effective than ‘Use Klin
for a really clean wash’ which would be expected,
predictable and probably elicit an ‘also ran’
communication result.
‘Keep Lagos Klin’ rides on the whole philosophy of
cleanliness, which has been campaigned with heavy
budgets in the past.
It also makes the brand (Klin detergent) appear
concerned about societal issues (a faint hint at
corporate social responsibility (CSR).
More importantly, it makes the reader smile. In an
often tense world of the city, that is a bonus any
brand needs to bond with consumers.
Note that the above example is merely an isolated one,
not a verdict on Klin adverts or marketing campaigns.
In fact the examples were completely made up by me. Now
can you develop some examples of your own?
