Il past simple esprime un’azione che si è svolta nel passato e non ha più
nessun rapporto con il presente. Es: Pelè was a brazilian footballer
Spesso si trovano espressioni di tempo che specificano che il fatto si è
svolto nel passato- I saw a movie yesterday
Last year I spent my holidays in America

Con il past simple si usano spesso indicatori di tempo che specificano che il
fatto si è svolto e si è concluso nel passato: -yesterday
-last (night,week…)
-two (days,weeks…) ago

6. USED TO-(quando si usa?)
Si per parlare di azioni abituali che accadevano nel passato ma che non sono
più valide nel presente.
Es: When I was child I used to read a fairy tale

Il verbo used to si forma semplicemente con used to + la forma base del
verbo
FORME DI USED TO
affermativa - I used to + forma base del verbo
negativa - I didn’t use + forma base del verbo
interrogativa - Did I used to + forma base del verbo

8. DIFFERENZE
“Used to” è diverso da “to be used to” (essere abituato) e da
“to get used to” (abituarsi).
“Used to” è sempre seguito dalla forma base del verbo mentre
“to be used to” e “to get used to” sono seguiti dal gerundio
