Process Digital Bargraph Display for Industrial Control and AutomationClassic Controls, Inc.
Commercial bargraphs are designed for use in non-nuclear environments. They may be used as HI-LO, on/off, or differential gap controllers and/or annunciators in process or other control applications. Fully programmable, these are the preferred choice for new applications, or for replacement of set point controllers, switchboard meters, other common size indicators.
The TIDALFLUX 2000 flow sensor with integrated and non-contact capacitive level measuring system provides accurate flow measurement in partially filled pipes.
TIDALFLUX is designed to measure reliably between 10% and 100% of the pipe cross section. The integrated level sensors in the liner are in no contact with the liquid and are therefore insensitive against fat and oil floating on the surface.
Thermal dispersion mass flow transmitters measure mass flow by detecting heat dissipation from a heated surface. The sensor contains two mass balanced elements with precision matched RTDs. The reference sensor measures the process temperature (up to +400° F [+200° C]); the second RTD measures the temperature of the heated sensor. The power to the heater is varied to maintain a constant temperature difference above the reference temperature.
There is an inherent non-linear relationship between power and mass flow. A microprocessor compares the power against the calibration curve and converts the power requirements to the mass flow rate. Temperature is also measured to provide temperature compensation of the mass flow over the operating range of the instrument.

Magnetic level indicators provide highly visible indication of level with or without signal outputs monitoring tail and vessel level. The term bridle is used to describe a vertical pipe connected to the side of a storage tank or process vessel, most often with side-to-side or side-to-bottom connections. Because the fluid inside the bridle rises and falls equally with the level of fluid inside the tank or vessel, bridles have been adapted for level measurement use on a broad scale.
In many industries, the atmosphere, though safe to breath, may be unsafe for an electrical spark. These areas often have pneumatically operated equipment for safety. And that equipment needs a source of clean dry air or as it is called in the industry, Instrument Grade Air. Plants typically have a centralized instrument grade air line that delivers air to the instruments that need it. However, oftentimes the instrument grade air is of inferior quality and contaminated with water. This air will benefit from a point of use drying system that guarantees instrument grade air. Traditional drying systems using PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) or refrigerant require expensive modifications to operate within hazardous areas. Air dryers made from hollow fiber membranes can dry compressed air without the use of electricity and are therefore safe for hazardous environments.
Hazardous locations have or could potentially have high concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, combustible dusts or ignitable fibers and flyings. Refineries, chemical processing plants, mines and grain mills are examples of industries with hazardous atmospheres. Even a small spark can lead to a horrific explosion dangerous to equipment and workers in the area.
This article discusses the advantages of Blunt Rod (BR) Lightning Protection over Nonconventional early streamer emission (ESE) and lightning dissipation array (LDA) approaches.

See-Flo® Meters indicate flow rate and permit visual inspection of water, air or other transparent fluids. For general purpose industrial service, See-Flo® meters handle a wide range of process fluids in vertical or horizontal piping runs. The wedge shape of the meter housing makes See-Flo® practically self-cleaning. Where periodic maintenance might be necessary, the tempered glass window is easily removed and replaced.
Gases and steam are compressible. It is normal that when gas or steam reaches the disc in a valve, it compresses and builds up before passing through the valve. This compression may cause a rapid build up of system pressure and be potentially harmful. There are other process conditions, such as boiler control malfunction, that can create elevated pressure in a closed system. Every system and component in a pressurized system has a safe operating pressure limit that must not be exceeded.
The PK200 current-to-pneumatic (I/P) converter offers a low-cost method to convert a milliamp input (4-20 or 10-50mA analog signals) to a proportional pneumatic (air pressure) output. Scenarios for Specifying an Uninterruptible Power Supply for Industrial Appli...Classic Controls, Inc.
For a number of years, some industries have used UPSs as a matter of course in applications requiring
uninterrupted process control. These include power-generation facilities, both fossil and nuclear, and petrochemical
plants and refineries.
Recently, other types of industrial companies (pulp and paper mills, steel mills, pharmaceutical manufacturing and
cogeneration facilities) have created a need for UPSs by incorporating DCSs into their plants to control their
processes. Additional control equipment, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems,
energy management systems (EMSs), boiler-control and microprocessor-based instrumentation, give power
protection an even more important role in industry.
The cast stainless steel mounting bracket facilities the installation of Westlock Control's control valve monitors on any actuator with the standard NAMUR mounting patterns.
Pressure measurement and control is an integral part of many industrial process operations. Handbook outlines the basics of pressure, how it is measured, and provides good illustration and description for anyone interested in pressure measurement and control.
The REXA Xpac X2L Linear Actuators allow for modulating duty cycle and precise positioning independent of load variation. Hydraulic pressure is generated by an internal positive displacement gear pump driven by a stepper or servo motor with no limitations on starts, stops, or reverse cycles. This self-contained electro-hydraulic system locks the cylinder in place when

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

FEATURES
DESCRIPTION
The SignalFire Wireless I/O System can interface to analog (4-20mA/1-5V) inputs and outputs, digital inputs and has relay outputs.
There are two modes of operation, the first utilizes two modules and acts as a wire replacement that replicates analog and digital
signals over a wireless link between the pair of Wireless I/O Modules. The second mode of operation is as a standard node that
sends the data (via the SignalFire wireless mesh network) to a SignalFire Gateway where the data is available via a Modbus RTU or
Modbus-TCP interface. The modules are DIN rail mounted and designed to be easy to use.
Point to Point I/O Mirroring Configuration: the analog/digital inputs
on one module are replicated on the other module (and vice ver-
sa)-ideal for stand alone valve control or simple retrofit applications.
Standard SignalFire Configuration: Operates as a remote node with
a standard SignalFire Gateway. All IO data is available at the Gateway
as Modbus registers. Supports Modbus writes to control the analog
and relay outputs. SignalFire node in a SignalFire network, providing
longer-range as well as more sophisticated monitoring and control.

DESCRIPTION
• Available with flexible or rigid magnetostrictive level
probe with single or dual floats for level and interface
measurements
• Integrated temperature sensor to measure fluid tempera-
ture
• Class 1 Division 1 intrinsically safe (certification pending)
• Rugged design for demanding outdoor environments

The SignalFire Tank Level Float Stick System consists of a
magnetostrictive level probe mated with a Sentinel wireless
node which creates a wireless link between the sensor and
the Gateway. The Sentinel will take level and temperature
readings, and send the data (via the SignalFire wireless
mesh network) to the Gateway where the data is available
via a Modbus RTU or TCP interface. The system is powered
by internal lithium batteries or optional C1D1 rated solar
package. Sensor data along with node-diagnostic information
is available at the Gateway.
