Company Profile:
Company has Insulation division at Nashik. Manufacturing of mica and non-mica
based electrical insulating material for rotating electrical machines.
Major customers are GE, Canada, Siemens-Germany, General Motors, Euro-rail,
L&T-MHI, Toshiba, Alstom, BHELs, Indian railways, Crompton Greaves etc.
Job Profile:
Responsible for entire operation for the Unit having strength of 110 people.
To make relevant plans, schedules, budgets and after approval ensure their
execution.
To interact/visit with customers and external agencies such as Govt. authorities,
suppliers, sub-contractors, testing labs etc.
To ensure sustenance of the lean initiative throughout the organization.
Motivation and support to team involved in cost saving projects.
Handling of Development of new products.
Involved in ISO 9001 and EHS activities.
Achievements of objectives:
April’2009-till date
Developed slot angles used for slot insulation in turbo generator rotor.
Leading role in developing resin poor mica tape which is used as main tape in
stator windings in TG.
Developed various laminates such as G-11, GPO-3, EPGM, glass epoxy tubes
which are used as support parts in rotor and stator in TG.
Restarted the lost biz of Nomex U-pcs by reducing the cost thru changing the
process and improving the yield.
The above development process includes product survey, feasibility study, specs
study, raw material selection/sourcing, costing, DOE, testing.
Added testing facility like millimegohm meter, impact tester, CTI tester, humidity
chamber, tan delta tester, various fixtures for UTM, pilot VPI unit, magnetic
induction tester, 80kV transformer with oil bath etc.
Appreciation from the overseas PowergGen customer for service in shortest time.

Major role in lean implementation in the company which helped to change the
mindset of the employees results in waste reduction.
Using lean platform made the company premises tobacco/gutkha free and done
tree plantation for green belt.
Jan’2006-Mar’2009
After completion of international on job training in Germany for one month
promoted as a Manufacturing Manager.
Streamline the process line for products which are used in Euro rail with stringent
quality requirement.
This involves from import of machinery, plant layout, commissioning, trials and
production.
Oct’2001-Dec’2005
Internal transfer from Isovolta to Sahney as a Production Superintendent.
Streamline the production line to accommodate the additional orders of the
domestic customers.
Developed the process for mica splitting tape (Porosplit) which is used as main
tape insulation in 500MW TG at BHEL.
Improved process for resin rich mica paper tapes such as main tape insulation,
overhang insulation etc.
Nov’1994-Sept’2001
Started the career as a slitting m/c operator with Isovolta (India) Pvt.Ltd which is
branch of Sahney Insulation Group.
Stared to use slitting m/s with optimum efficiency.
Developed Satherm TM
(Silicone bonded mica board) which are used in DC arc
furnaces, DBR, press platen application etc.
Improved process for resin rich mica paper tapes such as main tape insulation,
overhang insulation etc.

Achievements:
App 40% rise in production of Rocker arm lever by using various fixtures for
machining by reducing in process rejection thru process control.
Developed broaching fixture to achieve surface parallelism within 0.03mm.
