2. The opening sequence for ‘Seven’ almost feels like it is a montage as there is a
lack of continuity going on, this effect is made by there being lots of different
images of different props being used to make it seem as if that is not the only
thing in which this character is doing, this is because it is not in chronological
order which gives it the impression that the character might be doing a some
sort of work and trying to find out important information about a specific
thing or person, The editing then changes to fast paced cuts, showing a variety
of different objects, giving effect as they're shown on the screen for long
enough for the audience to see what they are, but not long enough for them to
figure out why they're included.. This causes the viewer to begin asking
questions about who could this person be looking for and what is so
important about them, which is what the director tries to create throughout
the opening sequence.

3. The sound used throughout the opening sequence of ‘Seven’, is mostly non-
diegetic but some sounds are made to make the sequence sound natural. For
example, sometimes in the clip, a very high pitched noise occurs which tricks
the viewer into thinking it's someone screaming however we can see that
throughout the clip the only thing being shown is someone highlighting
pictures and words and cutting paper. The screaming like noise connotes
danger and someone desperate for help and sets the audience up for the rest
of the film and . The background music is deep sounding and is quite fast.
this is typical of a thriller movie as it creates suspense and makes the audience
more tense as they want to find out why the films seems so suspenseful.

4. The mise-en-scene of the opening sequence is vary vague, the reason for this
is that it doesn’t give the viewer an exact image of the place in which it is set
in, the reason for this is that there isn’t any long shots used throughout the
opening sequence. However it does give the audience some clues that it might
be set in some ones home or work place as the props used such as books,
scissors and pens is normally where you would find them tend to find these
types of props, however this is done effectively as it is not shown properly
therefor it builds up more tension and makes the viewer more interested as
there are not many clues given away. Most of the shots use low key lighting
which shows that it is very dark

5. The title sequence starts with a close-up shot of a book, this creates a some sense
of confusion as the audience don't know what's inside of it, the next shot is a
high-angle shot looking down on the book, revealing to the viewer what is on the
page, however you are not able to see exactly what's written inside of it which
makes the viewer more interested, it then shows lots of different shots of close-
ups on the objects which don’t seem to have a lot of relevance. There are no long
shots in this title sequence so it doesn't really allow the viewer to see what's fully
going on, reinforcing the mystery of it. Throughout the clip all of it almost makes
the viewer doesn’t want the audience to see anything which may be important.
This is done effectively so that the viewer is able to focus on these objects as they
are clearly important in the film as they are shown a multiple of times throughout
the opening sequence.

7. Throughout the opening title sequence we are not given many clues by the
filmmaker about what the film may be about or what characters is featured,
however we are given several objects which may be significant throughout the
film. The film maker also gives the viewer ideas that it may be a creepy
investigation as we can see that the person is highlighting a lot of things and
also cutting up a lot of things, however with the contrast of the music it
shows that there may be something wrong about all of this. The filmmaker
does this effectively so that the viewer can question what may happen in the
film and make them more interested.
