This document summarizes seven popular British items and wonders of Britain in three sentences or less each. The items discussed are: the double-decker bus, a popular form of public transportation in London; the British Parliament, which includes the Houses of Parliament built on the Thames river; milkmen, who traditionally delivered milk; cricket, introduced over 200 years ago; English country gardens; the unpredictable British weather; and Stonehenge, one of the most famous and mysterious sites built between 3000-1000 BC.

5. The double-decker bus
• Double-decker buses are
a popular form of public
transportation in London,
where parking can be
extremely difficult. The
advantages of using
buses within a city
include the low cost, the
relative freedom from
stress in driving and
parking a car, and, in this
case, the view.

6. The British Parliament
• The Houses of Parliament,
also the New Palace of
Westminster, the seat of
the British Parliament
include a great mass of
buildings on the east bank
of the River Thames in
London. They were built
(1840-60) by Sir Charles
Barry, on the site of the
royal residence, the Palace
of Westminster, which was
largely destroyed by fire in
1834. The buildings
contain 1100 apartments,
100 staircases and 11
courts. They have three
massive towers: Victoria
Tower, Middle Tower and
the Clock Tower
