Key Concepts related to internet Important points to create an online presence NAMING STRUCTURE (typical) subdomain.domain.tld/directory Domain - the registered domain name of the web site Subdomain- a domain that is part of a larger domain tld– the top level domain, uppermost in the hierarchy of domain names Directory – a folder to organisecontent All website addresses have a IP record Worldwide management is by ICANN.org E-Marketing 4
Key Concepts related to internet Important points to create an online presence NAMING STRUCTURE (typical) subdomain.domain.tld/directory Domain - the registered domain name of the web site This is the “name” of your website Whatever you wish to choose Subdomain - a domain that is part of a larger domain To express part of your website “news” in finance.yahoo.com E-Marketing 5

Key Concepts related to internet Important points to create an online presence NAMING STRUCTURE (typical) subdomain.domain.tld/directory Domain - the registered domain name of the web site Subdomain- a domain that is part of a larger domain tld– the top level domain, uppermost in the hierarchy of domain names Directory – a folder to organisecontent All website addresses have a IP record Worldwide management is by ICANN.org E-Marketing 4
