                        Redbird FMX flight simulator. The Redbird FMX is a superior-quality, full motion

Lodi’s Lowdown      2   The Redbird is FAA Approved for the maximum training credit for the Private, In-
                        strument and Commercial Courses. We will be using it heavily in all of these
                        courses. The Redbird can also be used for portions of the IPC and can be used to
                        keep IFR Proficiency. You can fly the six approaches, the hold and the navigation
                        tasks required by CFR 61.57 to maintain your proficiency without having an instruc-
                        tor present. We will be training customers to operate the Redbird so they can take
                        advantage of this awesome opportunity.

                                             Bahamas Update

                                                                            After the devastation in the Bahamas caused
                                                                            by hurricane Irene, we are working with Baha-
                                                                            mas Habitat staging supplies in our facility
                                                                            for their relief flights heading to the islands.
                                                                            As pilots we can truly make a difference by

                                             Young Eagles flight we encourage you to look into these rewarding opportu-
                                             nities.
                                             The Bahamas Habitat not only operates during natural disasters, but has a
                                             year-round presence. Currently, they are working on the Zion Children’s
                                             Home Project. Check out their Fly-In & Help Out Event October 20th-23rd for
                                             your chance to volunteer.
                                             Many of you have flown missions for at least one of the listed organizations.
                                             If you have, please share your experience on our discussion page on Face-
                                             book. If you haven’t taken a volunteer mission and are interested in learning
                                             more, we would be happy to put you in contact with a seasoned volunteer
                                             pilot or some of the wonderful folks involved with these organizations. And
                                             don’t forget, in an effort to encourage more participation, Showalter offers
                                             special fuel pricing for people flying missions for these organizations. Don’t
                                             miss your chance to make a difference!
