Survey of energy-efficient solutions in NetworkOlivier Zheng
Since 2000, the growth of IT has increased in a radical way, to become the first carbon dioxide producer. It is at this time that people start to think about the global warming and the bad effect of the carbon dioxide. Everybody try to reduce his carbon dioxide footprint. Today, computers are connected to a network. So the main actors in IT (manufacturers, organisations...) start to work on solution to decrease the Network’s footprint.
In this paper, different non-commercial energy-efficient solutions are described: the 802.3az standard, the EMAN framework, the energy-efficiency metrics and the MiDORi network. Each solution is focused on a particular part of the Network (from the interface, to the global design), it has its advantages, but it has also its disadvantages. We’ll talk more about the disadvantages of each solution.
Each solution introduced in this paper will decrease the power consumption of the network. But to have the best results, the chosen solution will have to be implemented in the good way to have the best impact on the network power consumption: having Core layer routers with 802.3az ports won’t save more energy than having Access layer switches with 802.3az ports.

Hello USAG Red Cloud and Area I
Community Members!
Can you believe it we are nearing the end
of the year already; time flew by so fast, and
soon it will be Christmas and then New Years
Eve! It’s a very special time of the year to
spend with family and friends.
Unfortunately, this may not be the case
with some of our Area I members. As much
as it is a glorious time of the year, this season
can be a very difficult time for many of our
unaccompanied Soldiers and Families far from home. Please be vigilant
and watch for lonely and/or depressed symptoms, and reach out to your
Battle Buddies; invite them into your home or get them involved in Unit
or FMWR activities at the clubs, bowling centers, CACs or ACS. The Army
is one big family and we need to take care of our own, so open your
hearts and homes to your extended family here in Area I.
What is the Network meeting?
Fort Riley Network is a Command and Staff meeting for disseminating
Family
Readiness Group information;
invited attendees are:
All services across Ft. Riley( MWR,CYS ,ACS commissary, PX etc ) and
surrounding areas highlight upcoming events.
The Network Meeting location is :
Riley's Conference Center, Bldg. 446, Seitz Dr.
The next Network Meeting is 4 December 1pm.
Hello Area 1 Community Members!
I would like to say “Thank You” for
participating in our Independence Day
Celebration July 4th at Camp Casey. What
a change from last year where you stood
fast during the “on and off” again rains, this
year we had bright beautiful sunny skies and
though at times it was quite warm, the smiles
on your faces and your laughter could be
heard throughout the event site. From food eating contest, Warrior’s
Got Talent show, games, rides, entertainment, food and beverage there was so much to offer, so much fun and what more could one say except “WOW” when the fireworks capped off a perfect day.
Area 1 has a lot going on in August check out some of our favorites:
Commander's Cup Video Challenge at all Area I CACs, CRC BOSS "Hoop it UP", Commander's Cup Intramural Golf at Casey and CRC, DMZ Trips with sign ups at Area I CACs, Family Rail Bike Trip to Gangchon, Comedy Show at Gateway, CYSS Open House, you can find all these and more in the August ITZ magazine, “Happy Reading!”
Please find attached the 1ID and Fort Riley Weekly News Update for this week. Feel free to send to anyone that you think will find it useful. A lot of great things happening this weekend and several upcoming events.
Updates on what's on the calendar for agencies across Fort Drum & the 10th Mountain Division. Use the CLIF Notes to plan your activities for the coming months and get contact information for the people you need!
Hello Area I Community Members!! Here we are, September and the Kids are back in school, the days are
beginning to shorten and we continue tomarch on!eptember presents some interestingthings as we beginto close the Camp Casey Gateway Club for some major
renovations; new roof, restrooms, upgraded electrical and a fewother things as well. To accommodate that closure, we haveplans to lessen and to minimize this closure’s disruption. We will extend hours at Warriors Club, add additional programs at the Bowling Center, continue the Gateway Pizza delivery and more… you can read more about it on page 5. We close thefacility by 23 September and anticipate to reopen with a “Grand Opening” next Spring. We will keep you posted on the progress
that the Gateway Club is making as we move along.
Please be vigilant of the school kids that are out and about
acclimating back to their studies. Take the time to peruse the ITZ for all the great programs, events and happenings that are planned for YOU!

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS
Anti ulcer drugs and their Advance pharmacology ||
Anti-ulcer drugs are medications used to prevent and treat ulcers in the stomach and upper part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcers). These ulcers are often caused by an imbalance between stomach acid and the mucosal lining, which protects the stomach lining.
||Scope: Overview of various classes of anti-ulcer drugs, their mechanisms of action, indications, side effects, and clinical considerations.
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.
