This document describes a method for separating Taxol from Taxus species using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Taxol is extracted from various parts of Taxus brevifolia and Taxus baccata trees using different solvents. The extracts are then subjected to pretreatment and HPLC to separate Taxol from other compounds. Various mobile phase compositions are tested to optimize Taxol retention time and separation. The method is found to be sensitive, precise, and results in good purification of Taxol at low cost.

4. Abstract
 A simple, sensitive, and precise method .
 Taxol in Taxus by Pretreatment method .
 Followed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
 In the search of an alternative source, optimum and cost benefit
extracting solvents, various solvents with different percentage
were utilized to extract Taxol.

10.  Taxol in higher yields . Acetone 100% > Acetone 50% > Ethanol
50% > Ethanol 96% > Acetone 20% > Ethanol 20%.
 The solubility depends on the number, type and position of the –
OH.
