What is it?
Semana Santa is a holy weak in Spain it is the
Spanish version of Easter, but they are not similar at
all! They carry palm leaves and olive branches to
celebrate Jesus’s arrival in Jerusalem.

and relatives. Children may also
receive eggs from the “Easter bunny”

roads. They normally have a marching
band behind them as the music is very

Spain. It is an important month for Spanish people

Semana Santa is celebrated Every where is Spain
but mainly in the big towns and cities as there
parades are much larger and more impressive. It is a
very big tradition in Spain.
What they wear.
The woman of the town and city's are dressed in
black whereas the men wear whatever they want,
some people represent the people who were
shamed by the crucifixion of Jesus. They carry huge
wooden floats with scenes on them from the bible.
