GSA’s Green Proving Ground program evaluates new sustainable building
technologies that could reduce resource consumption and improve building
performance.
The program has released details on four new technologies:
 Chromogenic windows that tint automatically based on temperature and
brightness.
 Vacuum Insulated Panels that offer more effective insulation within a very slim
profile.
 Multi-Staged Indirect Evaporative Coolers that use only a fraction of the energy
consumed by mechanical air conditioners.
 Synchronous and Cogged Fan Belts that reduce inefficiencies in ventilation fans
caused by belt slippage and bending resistance.
