Selenium is an open source framework for automating web browser testing. TestingBot allows running Selenium tests across multiple browsers and platforms in the cloud. An example PHPUnit test is provided that runs against Firefox 8 on Windows using TestingBot's Selenium Grid which contains nodes on Amazon EC2 instances supporting major browsers. TestingBot also offers continuous integration features to regularly run tests and alert users of failures.
In this webinar we will show you how you can automate most cross browser testing tasks.

Selenium Automation in Java Using HttpWatch Plug-in Sandeep Tol
This article will give the developers and testers who use Java selenium script for Browser Simulations and automation for IE browser to capture HTTP logs using HTTPWatch Plug-in
HTTP Watch comes with inbuilt API support to integrate with selenium scripts written in C# or PHP scripts . But unfortunately they don’t have Support for JAVA.
The solution given here is to use Java COM bridge and invoke HTTP Watch plugin API from Java based selenium scripts.
Using this article you would learn how HttpWatch plug-in which component can be easily interfaced with Java code and then executed via selenium script.
Enterprise Build And Test In The Cloud
ApacheCon EU 2009 Amsterdam
http://www.carlossanchez.eu
Building and testing software can be a time and resource consuming task. Cloud computing / on demand services like Amazon EC2 allow a cost-effective way to scale applications, and applied to building and testing software can reduce the time needed to find and correct problems, meaning a reduction also in time and costs. Properly configuring your build tools (Maven, Ant,...), continuous integration servers (Continuum, Cruise Control,...), and testing tools (TestNG, Selenium,...) can allow you to run all the build/testing process in a cloud environment, simulating high load environments, distributing long running tests to reduce their execution time, using different environments for client or server applications,... and in the case of on-demand services like Amazon EC2, pay only for the time you use it. In this presentation we will introduce a development process and architecture using popular open source tools for the build and test process such as Apache Maven or Ant for building, Apache Continuum as continuous integration server, TestNG and Selenium for testing, and how to configure them to achieve the best results and performance in several typical use cases (long running testing processes, different client platforms,...) by using he Amazon Elastic Computing Cloud EC2, and therefore reducing time and costs compared to other solutions.

Selenium is an open source automation tool for test driving browser-based applications. WebDriver, the newly-introduced API for Selenium against which tests are written in Java, contains classes including ChromeDriver, AndroidDriver, and iPhoneDriver. Sometimes test authors find the API daunting and their initial automation code brittle and poorly structured. In this introduction, Alan Richardson provides hints and tips gained from his years of experience both using WebDriver and helping others improve their use of the tool. Alan starts at the beginning, explaining the basic WebDriver API capabilities—simple interrogation and navigation—and then moves on to synchronization strategies and working with AJAX applications. He covers tools and location strategies to find elements on web pages using CSS and XPath. Alan provides an introduction to abstraction approaches which help you build robust, reliable, and maintainable automation suites.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Talk about Selenium, the easy of cross browser testing and TestingBot.com
Talking about Selenium, why it is useful and how easy it is to use Selenium IDE and immediately start writing Selenium tests.
At TestingBot.com we provide easy to use Selenium testing by providing plugins. With these plugins one can easily use TestingBot's infrastructure to run the tests on. You can also see immediate results with the video recording of the test and screenshots of the Selenium test.
An example of running a PHPUnit Selenium test on TestingBot.com. It's very easy to set up by using PEAR and PHPUnit.
Selenium Grid is a network of Selenium RC nodes. At TestingBot.com we use Amazon EC2 to host these nodes and run cross browser tests via Selenium.
A lot of companies use Continuous Integration systems like Jenkins. TestingBot's system provides an easy way to run tests on a regular basis. We'll alert you when something is broken.
Future about Selenium and Webdriver, talk about Jenkins and Selenium in general.
