Seismic attributes are additional data obtained from seismic data that provide information beyond just structure. They are generated to enhance structural and stratigraphic features, locate misinterpretations, and provide information on lithology, facies or fluid content for reservoir characterization. Seismic attributes can be classified as physical attributes derived from pre-stack or post-stack data, geometric attributes like dip and curvature, or instantaneous attributes like frequency and phase. Case studies demonstrate how attributes are extracted and analyzed from 3D seismic volumes.
