Your compelling 60 second elevator pitchScott Hammond
This document provides guidance on creating an effective 60-second elevator pitch. It discusses that speaking skills are the number one leadership skill and how an elevator pitch can be a compelling communication tool. It outlines the components of a great 60-second pitch, including introducing yourself, telling a story, highlighting 3 unique selling propositions, making a request, and including a memory hook. The document also provides examples of effective 60-second pitches and tips on writing, revising, rehearsing, and using the pitch in different venues.
Ziyad Maricar provides business consulting services such as business model innovation, coaching, franchise consulting, advisory, planning, and training to help clients in service-based industries solve problems and satisfy customer needs. His services are aimed at helping clients deliver value to customers, drive new and improved performance, customize offerings, build their brand and status, and optimize pricing and costs.
The document discusses how before technology, a compass was needed to navigate the seas. It explains that the Reticular Activating System (RAS) acts like a compass for people by filtering stimuli and bringing attention to information that is valuable for achieving goals. The role of BNI is to provide this compass for members by helping them focus on useful information for their business.
This document provides information about Business Architect Director, an organization that offers business model innovation, coaching, consulting, advisory, training, planning, and standard operating procedure development. It asks questions to help identify the type of market a business aims to target, such as mass market, niche market, or segmented market. It also lists some examples of service-based industries that may seek its help, including lawyers, web developers, advertising agencies, accountants, and logistics and IT companies.
This document discusses improving communication. It notes that communication includes verbal communication like words, and non-verbal communication like body language and voice tone. The latter accounts for 93% of communication impact. It emphasizes using a 45 second script to introduce yourself that focuses on your name, company, location, specialty, past customers, and a referral ask. While words are important, non-verbal cues like body language and voice tone have a greater impact, so one must balance what they say with how they say it.

Monolithic installs VS single responsibilities networksFedir RYKHTIK
The document discusses moving from monolithic Drupal installations to a microservices architecture. It notes that large Drupal sites can become unstable and difficult to update as they grow in size and complexity. The microservices approach breaks the site into independent, specialized services that communicate through APIs. This allows each service to focus on a single task and improves scalability, stability, and ability to update individual components. The talk provides an overview of how to plan and implement a microservices network for an existing Drupal site, including defining service roles, development tools like Docker and Ansible, and monitoring with Logstash and Kibana.

Featured topic: CloudHub Automation - How to automate Anypoint CloudHub and beyond through Infrastructure as a Code, presented by Mike Jakeman!
The CloudHub Automation team came together on a common philosophy to automate Anypoint CloudHub and beyond through Infrastructure as a Code. We wanted to reduce the CloudHub setup time for Muleys and partners so that the focus can be on innovation rather than duplicating/rebuilding platform configurations. The backbone of the idea is to offer flexibility and next generation open source building blocks for anyone using the platform to automate rich and complex needs using auto-generated client libraries. Given the team's experience it also means that we can inject standard platform best practises into templates for plug-and-play customers who wish to deliver use cases and bootstrap the integration layer without having to go through detailed platform discovery.

IBM Connect 2016 - Logging Wars: A Cross Product Tech Clash Between Experts -...Chris Miller
Things WILL get VERY technical when two experts face-off in a unique session that explores polar perceptions regarding various types of logs, verbosity levels, data extraction, responses for alerts, and more. Be it Domino, Sametime, or Traveler operating on-prem. or in Hybrid and Cloud environments, it is vital to have an understanding of log data structure, what is (or isn't) logged and why, and how to search logs effectively. But aren't there ways to find your information without having to pipe everything into the log? Where does one's best practice end and another's begin? From this collision of opposing viewpoints and real-world stories, you'll take away knowledge and tools ready to deploy to various scenarios, products, and log types.

Social Identity - Public, Personal & Private from SxSW 2014 excerptChris Miller
Presented at SxSW 2014, Social Identity is not just your socially shared content, but your identity you build on the public and personal social networks that affect you privately.
In this recorded session I walk through the definition of social identity and how to split it into personas. I show where we have all made the worst mistakes along the way and how to get out of exposing our social identity.
With the amount of private identity data we share accidentally across the social sites and the amount of public data we use in our private site we open ourselves to security risks. With no tangible benefit in the sharing. Explore this topic with me in the session below.
Please share this video and post with whomever you feel needs to change how they handle their identity.

Bridging the Centralized Gap - centralizing IT staffsChris Miller
The document discusses strategies for centralizing software management across an enterprise in a way that engages employees and addresses potential concerns. It suggests starting by gathering accurate data on current systems, verifying the information, and revising goals as needed. Key steps involve clearly communicating the technology vision and business value, assessing competencies, addressing potential "sabotage," and keeping key employees involved. Meetings should focus on making centralization a shared strategy that balances business needs with avoiding job losses.

Webinar: Designing a schema for a Data WarehouseFederico Razzoli
Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.
