2. Type of Group:
An empowering support group.
• Purpose of Group:
• This group was established to create a social network for clients seeking to empower
themselves. Group members have the opportunity to learn about themselves, gain new
friends and get involved in community service.
• Population Served:
• This is a group that will be open to all ages, genders, and economic statuses. Clients will be
welcomed to attend meetings as often as they would like.
3. Goals & Objectives
The main goal of the group is to help members
become the best version of themselves. Helping
members gain an improved self-image.
While simultaneously expanding their social
network to include like minded individuals and
professionals qualified to assist with any problem.
Also, by giving members the opportunity to become
involved in community service and different events.
Some events include; fundraisers, raffles, potlucks,
and community events.
4. Goals & Objectives
• Goal #1: Establish a team of Human Service professionals for this program. (2 months)
• Objective #1: Create a website for the program to begin networking. (2 weeks)
• Objective #2: Search for candidates online via job listings and interview potential team members. (1 month)
• Objective #3: Hire the best people and teach them the vision of this program. (2 months)
• Goal #2: Gather and create educational tools and materials for clients. (3 months)
• Objective #1: Find a location for the program to function efficiently. (2 months)
• Objective #2: Collaborate with organizations already established in the area. (Indefinitely)
• Objective #3: Prepare documents for clients such as informed consent, screening tools, and demographic forms. (3 months)
• Objective #4: Create a structure for group sessions utilizing an integrated approach to therapy. (3 months)
• Goal #3: Gather 10 members to join the 1st group meeting. (3 months)
• Objective #1: Invite potential members to become involved in the group via online or recommendations. (2 months)
• Objective #2: Invite potential members to the program location for screening and informed consent. (2 months)
• Objective #3: Have the 1st group therapy session. Members will be allowed to attend as many sessions as they need. (3 months)
• Objective #4: Continue group sessions along with educational activities for all members. (Indefinitely)
5. Structure of
the Group
Seedlings Social Group will be open and
free to attend. This group will be funded
by grants and donations.
Group members will be able to attend
sessions as often and as long as they
would like.
Group members will also be encouraged
to involve their family and friends to
participate in some events and sessions.
The primary group meetings will be held
weekly at a designated time for 1 hour
and will be accessible via Zoom.
6. Techniques & Theoretical Approaches
• Seedlings will utilize an integrated approach to therapy.
• The idea of having the openness to welcome any technique that would be
beneficial to a client seems better than sticking to a one script.
• Inspiration will be drawn from:
• Cognitive behavioral approach
• Person-centered approach
• Holistic techniques
• Seedlings will also utilize psychoeducational tools as needed.
