SESSION
ORGANIZATION.
- Unit of Study: The seasons and the weather.
- Level and group: 5th. Level of Primary.
- Number of children: 20
- Implemented in 2 separated sessions of 60’ .
-Competencies involved: English – Science –Art.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES.
- To learn different aspects about how
seasons produce changes in Nature and
in our routines.
-To review/learn vocabulary related
to the different seasons (weather,
months, adjectives, verbs, clothes)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
- The children have previously worked on
the units about the weather and the
Present Simple form.
-They have done some posters and
pictures about the weather that they
will use during this lesson.
What material do we need?
a) Some cards with different sentences about the
seasons.
b) Scaffolding (Frame and substitution tables with
some grammar structures).
c) A poster for filling with our pictures and
sentences.
d) A final test.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT
1) VISUALIZATION ACTIVITY.

First, we listen to a song
about the seasons.

Later, we watch a project
about the seasons.
What happens in each
season?
2) LET’S WORK IN GROUPS.
4 groups of 5 ( each group has the name
of a different
season.
Deciding which sentences belong to
our season.
3) Let’s explain our agreements to
the rest of the groups.
4) Now it’s time to decide…
a) What’s the weather like?
b) What do we eat?
c) Which clothes do we wear?
d) Which activities can we do?
So we must work in groups again, choose the pictures and
words we have decided that better describes our season
and show our
work to the
rest of the
class.
5) Time for individual work.
What have I learned?
And finally, we complete a test
with some questions about the
topic we have done.
