This document discusses a US History blended learning environment where students learn differently than in a traditional classroom. In the blended environment, students meet only two days a week but engage in in-depth long-term projects, motivate themselves to research topics independently, and actually remember what they learn. During online time, students provide background, have discussions with experts, and present independent research. In the classroom, they explore prior knowledge about US wars and collaborate with others on war memorial projects and applying their knowledge. The environment shifts away from constant test preparation and encourages independent learning both online and in the classroom.
