1. Script
(camera pans down to John looking out onto the river outside. Michell
walks into shoton the phone, stands beside him with documents in hand)
Act 1: dreamduo
Michel: (one phone) yeah I think I’vefound him, be back soon after collecting.
(puts folder in Johns arms) John right?
John: That would be me.
Michell: nice to finally put a face to the name I suppose.
John: I mean seeing your wor-
Michel: (walking off) we don’tneed to talk about that rightnow. Don’t ask don’t
tell crap.
(john turns confused)
So you coming or what?
(john walks and proceeds to follow)
2. Act 2: introductions
(shotof door opening Michell taking point with john following)
Michel: welcome to base of operations whereyou’ll be spending most of your
time when not out on the streets doing fun stuff and not paperwork.
John: so wher-
Michel: I’mnotgood with this introduction crap, so ill let you talk to Ruby about
that, I got a job to run here and im not a hand holder. Welcome to the big
leagues.
(john walks into next roomlooking out of place. Notices a lady sitting on a sofa
reading files)
John: (clears throat) Ruby?
Ruby: (turns around) oh hello, you bust be john, I’msorry I didn’thear you come
in please take a seat.
John: (gets in seat across fromruby)
Ruby: so we’vehad our little chats online and we thought you wherea suitable
candidate for our team. Now we will ask a few questions beforewe get you to
work and let you ask any to us. Okay?
John: okay got ya.
Ruby: what do you know about our company John? Why would you like to be a
part of this.
John: so fromwhat I understand is that your “company” is a privately run
investigation unit. That specializes in fastconsistent arrests of subsects to murder
theft, kidnappings, fraud, missing people. Most of the time you’vedone it without
aid of the police force that’s available, as well as the company is set out round the
governmentmore to aid then make normalpolice investigators and detectives
look bad. All while supposedly doing it under the radar. As seen you had a
misstep in your “securesystem” that I got into.
Ruby: And that’s why weoffered you a job. Intriguing to know how you got in and
proceeded to read the files instead of justexporting them. Why was that?
3. John: well your company isn’t much of a secret anymore what 3years running now. Not
to mention most of your staff, including yourself are post graduate students that look
like they may have just come out the womb? Why not get more “experienced
members” that can keep there mouth shut?
Ruby: the boss finds it easier to run operations with younger people. As well as we’re
better undercover too. If cops walked into a bar people start turning heads. Us. We
blend in quite well with the city life.
John: so I’m going to be doing under cover stuff too? I’m a computer and political guy.
Not and actor.
Ruby: anyone can act, just don’t over do it when you’re out there. As well as your the
guy we need.
John: So is this you giving me the Job?
Ruby: doesn’t look like we have a choice.
(both smile, and ruby stands up)
Let me show you the base.
John: (standing up) Also known as a shabby apartment in a semi good city.
Ruby: don’t tell Jenna that. she’ll kill you, love the place to bits she does.
(hears door close)
Speaking of the devil
Jenna: (from down the hallway) I’m home!
(walks into room) hello stranger.
Ruby: this is john our new member of the team.
(john gos for and hand shake while Jenna runs up for a hug and proceeds to do
so.)
Jenna: nice too meet you I’m Jenna.
This ones not as cuddly as the last one though Ruby
(Johns face drops and looks at Ruby)
Ruby: don’t worry too much. Welcome to the big leagues John.
4. Act 3: the case.
(Jenna enters into shot holding cups of tea giving to John and Ruby who are looking over
files on working on the computer)
Jenna: we got anything yet?
John / Ruby: nope
Jenna: guess its another quite week then.
Michel: (entering room) not yet we don’t. John take a look at the link I sent though. And
the file. We need to handle this soon. I’ll stock up. (leave room)
John: Thanks mitch.
Ruby: what he send you that’s so important?
John: seems to be a missing girl. Named Hannah. Our age, studied at York college. Went
out on Friday hasn’t been home since. Ruby it says the police have been involved with
this. Can you get me the case file please.
Ruby: right away (leaves room)
Jenna: what can I do John?
John: (passed her cup) extra sugar would be perfect.
5. Scene 4 culprit:
(Mitchel and John walk up to the door and john attempts to knock before Michell
interrupts him)
Michel: you know what your doing? You seem shaken.
John: 1st
job probably why.
Michel: don’t be too nervous you’ll miss out on the small details, I’m going to look round
the house for evidence. You have to talk to the man. Done your homework?
John: if your idea of homework looking into there relationship like a hawk? Dated for 3
years, planning to go to Spain next month, went to different colleges, met though
tinder. And much more but I won’t bore you.
Michel: I hope you got ur question thought out. We need everything we can get right
now.
(michell knocks on door and steps back)
(door opens)
John: Afternoon Oliver I’m john and this is Michell from the P.I.U. and are requesting a
statement from yourselve and the you missing girlfriend, Hannah.
Oliver: (nervously) I mean yeah sure. You want to come in?
John: that would be most preferred, thankyou.
(john and michell walk in oliver moving into the living room straight away.)
Michell: (whispering) im going to look for anything suspicious. Remember your ear
piece.
John: ill keep you informed.
(both split in separate directions one up the stairs one continuing down the hall.)
6. (John walks into the roomwith culprit, Michell opens door to bed roomand
starts searching around)
John: so im going to asking somequestions about you and the mishap that
Hannah came into.
(Oliver looks away and sighs for a brief moment)
Is something wrong?
Oliver: its honestly a real shame how it happened, it was, justso sudden.
Michel: (over ear piece) something’s up here john keep at it.
John: when was the last time you saw her and where about Oliver? We
need this information for a start.
Oliver: well it was at college. On Tuesday. We had lunch together.
John: a date would be good?
Oliver: the 5th
?
John: 5th
of Jun? last month?
Michel: (over ear piece) she disappeared on the 6th
John: (writing in note pad) The day before shewent missing.
How long whereyou dating her Oliver?
Oliver: SO westarted dating on the 16th
of October and we spent all our
sparetime mostly together especially after college.
Michel: (ear piece) wait John something up. They didn’t go to college
together?
John: Oliver you sure you saw her at college?
Oliver: (gulps) yeah I’m sureof it. No no wait we wentout, sorry. Wemet
for lunch. Then I went back to lesson.
7. (Michel going though draws upstairs opens a draw to find bags of white
powder and stacks of cash. He continues to look further into the draw
finding images of Oliver with lots of different women. )
Michel: (over ear piece) Fuck John we got something here
John: Please Oliver go on.
Michel: most of the girls in these pictures he has are victims of drug
trafficking, ether found dead or gone missing. Mostof them carrying coke
or other substances. Under thereskin.
John: (looks over at Oliver horrified) Your coming with us. Now!
(puts cuffs on Oliver)
Oliver: (shouting) you have no right to do this your privatedetectives not
cops!
Michel: (runs though door) yeah you’reright we’renot cops. Look familiar?
Oliver: Shit.
8. Scene 5
Interrogation:
(Ruby, Jenna and John sit in the living room on opposite sofas. Hearing
shouting and screams in the other room)
Ruby: you get what you need fromhim?
John: I talked to him but he wasn’t giving me anything so I had to resortto
Michel.
Ruby: I hate hearing that.
John: the shouting?
Ruby: No, the fact this shit shows alllinked. The girls the murders the
disappearance. It’s a bloody mess. Not to mention what Michell’s capable of.
Jenna: (sad face) I have to clean it all up too. So hard getting blood off the
walls.
John: he’s resilient to talk tho.
Jenna: I have a feeling Michell may have someanger issues guys.
(screaming stops, everyonegets up and rushes too the door)
John: Michel?
(slowly opening the door Michell steps out the room. Bloody covering his
hands.)
Jenna: (trying not to throw up) I feel sick Ruby.
(Michel closes the door behind him)
9. Michel: (exhales) I have a lead. Names Harvey Green. One who asks for the
girls. The restOliver has no idea about.
John: an hour of torcher for that Michell? What’s up with you?
(Michel walks past John putting a photo in his hands)
Michel: Ended up being more personalthan expected. (opening the door) I
need a cig (exists)
John: Ruby? You know who this is?
Ruby: (picking up photo) yeah, that’s….
John: that’s?
Ruby: one of his exs john his well, mostrecent one.
John: we even allowed him on the case?
Ruby: when he comes back we’ll let him take the over seer job and I’ll go out
with you.
Jenna: (walking back into hall) don’t leave me with mr moody, let me go!
Ruby: Jenna will go then.
John: Fine by me. (pulling out phone) well from whatI know Harvey green
should be on Olivers phone.
(Jenna and Ruby crowed round John as he plugs in the phone to the lap top
and starttyping)
10. John: right so, whatwe see here is how many calls they’vemade and when.
Ruby: look on the dates 6th
of June. When shewent missing. FromHarvey
himself
John: In the evening too. Musthave been when he got her.
(gun shot is herd by crew, all stand and look at each other)
Jenna: where's Michell?
Ruby: having a cig.
John: (grabs gun on table, starts to leave) stay here, I'mgoing down to check if
he's alright.
Ruby: John wait.
(john turns around)
Don’t get yourself hurt.
John: I wont.
Jenna: you know how to usethat?
John: (looks at gun and does a gester with it in hand) yeah? Point and shoot
right?
Jenna/ Ruby: good luck
John: I'llbe rightback.
11. Scene 6 Michell:
(runs out door looks down to see blood pile and burnt out cigarettes)
John: (over ear piece) Michell isn't here, he wasn’t the one to take the shot.
Jenna: (intercom) what makes you say that?
John: I'm the one with his gun. looks like someone was here smoking with him
maybe will give us a lead onto his location.
Ruby: (over intercom) if we inform police we may have the priority's mixed. Michel
will be left to us and our case we were on will be taken over.
John: but it's probably the same people.
Ruby: (over intercom) we can't be too certain John. Your call what we do.
