1) Erik the Red is banished from Iceland for 3 years for killing a man and sails with his family to an unsettled land that he names Greenland, hoping the name will attract more settlers. 2) Erik successfully establishes settlements in Greenland and brings more colonists back with him when his banishment ends. 3) Erik's son, Leif Erikson, travels to Norway and becomes interested in Christianity after marrying the king's daughter. The king asks Leif to spread Christianity in Greenland. 4) Leif fails to convince his father Erik to convert to Christianity before Erik dies. However, Leif does convert many other Vikings. He also explores west of Greenland and

Erik the Red: The raid in England was a great and proud story of us Vikings. With courage, Ragnar
Lothbrok sailed with his crew to England and created history.
So that's it, THE END, That is how the legend was made.
*Lights On*, (Two Guards walk in)
Guard 1: Erik Thorvaldsson…The lord would like to see you
(Guard 1 and 2 grab his hand)
(Erik push them off)
Erik the Red: I can walk myself
(Erik the Red, Guard 1 and 2 walks away)
(Erik the Red and 2 guards walk to the ruler)
Local Ruler: What did you slaughter my men?
Erik the Red: It was them who drew first blood……..
Local Ruler: Do you have proof? Witness maybe…
Erik the Red: No…..
Local Ruler: Then I will sentence you to death by public execution but for the sake of you wife, I will
only banished you and your family from Iceland for 3 years and your land, taken from you.
Erik the Red: Very well, thank you my Jarl.
(Erik the Red walks away and reached home)
Eric The Red: we have to leave this place, my wife.
Erik and his family sail across the sea in search of a new land and they were able to reach the
unknown location.
THE BOAT SCENE + MULTIMEDIA + AROUND 1.5 ,minutes
(They finally reached the land and got off the boat)
Erik the Red: The rumors are true, they are all true. A warmer land,a more fertile land…this would be
our new home!
Thorhild: So….what shall we call this place?
Erik the Red: (pause) Greenland.
Thorhild: Greenland?? Why Greenland?
Erik the Red: Men will desire much the more to go there if the land has a good name. I am thinking of
bringing our friends here in the future. Come, we have a lot to do.
Eric the red started a family in greenland and Leif erikson was born
3 years later, after Erik’s banishment, he returned to Iceland as he has promised before, to bring more
people to Greenland.
(Erik the Red got down from his boat, people from the Iceland watches)
Erik the Red: Brothers and Sisters, I have returned from my banishment and I have stumbled upon a
new land west from here and that I have already claimed that land as my own. So, I invite you all to
my land, Greenland.
Viking 1 (Nicholas) : We already have everything we need here.
Erik the Red: The land I speak of is more fertile and the climate is also warmer. Here, look.
(Erik the Red threw a Barley plant to the ground)
Viking 2 (Ameerah) : Is that wheat??
Erik the Red: Yess. With the warmer climate there, we were able to plant wheat. For those who have
no land, wanted to start over or want a better life. You can follow me, to Greenland!
(the crowd follows Eric The Red to the left side of the stage while the narration starts, and Johnson

#So Erik the Red has successfully convinced the people and bring 24 ships to his own land .Before
leaving greenland, the little Leif Erickson met an icelandic trader..
Icelandic Trader: Where are you going, my young man?
Leif: Oh YES! To my HOME! It is called...Greenland! :D
Icelandic Trader: ahhh…yes yes…I know Greenland. Its west from here is it not?
Leif: Maybe, I don't know.
Icelandic Trader: Boy, did you know west of “your” Greenland lies another land? No one knows about
it. Are you interested in sailing there? hahahaha
(Leif starting to gets scared)
Leif: I have to go now.
(Leif runs to the boat)
During the great voyage, they faced ups and downs. However, the bond between the Vikings are
strong and they never give up
Erik the Red: This is it, men. This is the land I had promised you, this is Greenland. Unpack your
things, we had lots of stuff to do.
Erik the Red succeeded in colonizing Greenland, making it a new home for the Vikings.
(Lights off)- next plot
10 years had passed and Greenland had expanded, attracting more settlers there. In this 10 years,
Leif Erikson, son of Erik the Red has grown up. An explorer like his father, He travels to Norway and
live there for a few years.
During his settlements in Norway, he has married the daughter of the King of Norway, Thorgunna.
For one fine day, the King Olaf asked Leif to play chess with him.
King: My young man, remember the plague that striked us years ago?
Leif: Yes, I have heard rumors about it, but I heard it stopped because of you.
King: Yes, I once believed in the Norse God, But they turned their backs on us. During the plague,
they did not help me nor my people. And here come my saviors, the Christ, Jesus Christ. You have to
believe in him.
Leif: ...Hmm......(nodded) I want to leave Norway soon, to Greenland.
King Olaf 1: That is the reason why I call you here. I want a final request from you. I need your help
me spread Christianity to Greenland?
Leif: Spreading Christianity to Greenland? That is a great idea! I will do what I can.
(While Leif wanna go)
Thorgunna: I want to go with you
Leif: your kinsmen are of any kind to mind with that?
Thorgunna: I don’t care.
Leif: A women of such a high birth in a foreign country? Never
Thorgunna: Then I’ll tell you, I am bearing a child and he is yours. I will give birth to a boy, even
through you ignore him, and I’ll give birth to him, raise him and send him to you in Greenland. I
promise you, he will serve you as you served me.

Narration: Leif Ericson left for Greenland leaving his wife and the future new born in Norway *. When
he reached Greenland wanting to spread Christianity but...

Leif: Father! I wish to tell you about Christianity. There is a new God and also…
Erik the Red: Silence! I heard of Christianity long before you did. Had I not tell you the story of the
Vikings raid to the England?
Leif: If you had known, why don’t you just listen to what I have to say. If you accept Christianity your
soul would be brought to Heaven in your death.
Erik the Red: I had been to war, I had seen souls of my people being brought to Valhalla by The
Valkyrie. I will remain LOYAL to my own God!!!
(Lights off)
Scene 13
Leif Ericksson failed to convince his father. However, with his effort, he successfully convert most of
the Vikings but Eric the Red died being faithful to Norse god.
Remember there was a creepy Icelandic trader told Leif Erikson years ago, the mysterious island that
laid far west from Greenland? Leif left Greenland and ventured to the west in search of this unknown
land.
Viking 1: I see a land!!!
Leif Erikson: I see it too….
(Storm stop, shiny day)
Viking 1: Look, the abundant grapes growing there. Wow… this land is fertile.
Leif Erikson: This land, I shall call it Vinland
And...another adventure begins.
