This document provides an outline for a 3-unit college course on Science, Technology, and Society. The course examines the interactions between science, technology, and the social contexts that shape them. It is designed to help students understand and critically reflect on how scientific and technological advances affect individuals and society. Over 18 weeks, the course will cover topics such as the historical impacts of science and technology; their role in nation-building; philosophical issues regarding human flourishing; and specific contemporary issues including information technology, biotechnology, and environmental challenges. Students will develop knowledge and skills through lectures, discussions, presentations and other assessments.
