My rating was a five, which was not very good. When I attended elementary school, science was not
emphasized in grades kindergarten through third. Beginning in fourth grade and continuing to the
sixth grade, we began having a "separate science class" where just the basic scientific information
was delivered, mostly in lecture format with almost no hands on activities. The rating for my current
elementary school was a 13, which is much higher than when I attended school. Although most of
the science curriculum is still integrated into the reading curriculum, there is more of a focus on

method can prove to be more difficult than one presumes. Observation can cause error or provide

People that come from different backgrounds, but they were in common for their spirit to fight for
what they believe and made a dream come true. People who dedicated themselves to make a better
world for everybody else. They are Mahatma Gandhi for his life principle of truth and non–violence,
Albert Schweitzer for his cares, love and respect for all living things, Thomas Alfa Edison the great
inventor of modern science, and Jacques Cousteau for his passionate love for the sea. Sea is two–

While science serves as a trustworthy means, humans have disrespected it as an insufficient end.
The results produced by scientific experiments are legitimate to a particular population, in a
particular environment, at a particular time. The results of such do not substantiate claims or
assertions of the broadest category of "human nature". Science may lead us to conclude a correlation
of human behavior, but to claim a causation would be vastly outside the testable scope of science.
Godfrey–Smith explains the "unsteady" history of science (Godfrey–Smith, 2003), however, science
remains a trustworthy venue. It is humans that are responsible for representing it in untrustworthy
ways. As in any other domain, science seems to have endured a history of creating theories, proving
those theories wrong, and creating new ones from that. This evolution of ideas and ways of thinking
do not discredit science's validity, but instead prove that we have grown and learned over time,
through advancements in technology and greater understandings of why we are asking particular
questions about the world (Godfrey–Smith, 2003). The underlying untrustworthy aspect regarding
science is not in the scientific results themselves, but the discussion and human conclusions drawn
from such findings.
In order to understand, we must go back to the results themselves and try to understand what they
are showing us; whether that be descriptive or normative data, or both (Godfrey–Smith, 2003). A

In Creation Science is not Science, Michael Ruse argues that Creation science is not science and in
Science at the Bar– Causes for Concern, Larry Laudan opposes this view by arguing that Creation
Science is science, but that it is false. In this paper, I argue that Michael Ruse had the better
argument and that Creation Science is not science. First, I explain Ruse's argument for why creation
science does not meet the criteria for science. Second, I consider and explain Larry Laudan's
opposing view that creation science is false science. I then argue why I believe Ruse has the better
argument.
In his argument, Michael Ruse defended the science communities' position that creation–science
was not a science. He claims that it is a pseudo–science. His main argument against creationism was
based on the lack of support from the established view of real science. Ruse laid out what he
believed the criteria for real science should look like. He then, expanded on several parts of
scientific activity which included the role of prediction, explanation, testability, confirmation,
falsifiability, tentativeness, and integrity. Ruse presents these as the absolute necessary empirical and
social fundamentals for determining whether observable theories are scientific.

The world we live in has been and always will be based around science. Almost everything we have
discovered so far has been because of all the different branches of science. The science of
technology and computer science has always sparked my interest, ever since I was little I loved
playing video games or messing around on our family computer. Because of the abundant amount of
time I was around technology I became attached to it. Then as I got older I started to wonder where
it all came from and how it works. This brought me to love all the sciences I learned in school, I
took a liking to it all and excelled in those classes. AP physics in high school is where I really began
to flourish. I had the highest grades in the class and loved every second of it. It was also the only
class I could pay attention in or stay awake. Physics is great because it makes you realize how
everything works, makes you understand the flow of energy and the movement of everything. It
opened my eyes to search deeper into science and figure out how everything started, and that is how
I got into astrophysics. All of last summer I spent researching astrophysics and listening to almost
all of Neil Degrasse Tyson's podcasts of startalk during my IT internship.
This new found love for astrophysics led to me going on social media and finding all of the

The earliest thing I can remember in science was in fifth grade. We made the three types of clouds
on a piece of construction paper with cotton balls. I can't recall anything leading up to the creation
of the clouds, but I remember what it looked like when it was finished. Most of my memories of
science were in middle school, mainly because I joined Science Olympiad and that is when I
discovered how much I loved science. I started Science Olympiad in sixth grade, I was in rocks and
minerals and wheeled vehicle. I spent hours in my dad's machine shop creating my wooden car, and

Nobody won a medal, in fact most only got to 25th place out of 54 schools. I was super proud of
myself because I got 13th place out of 54, I had scored higher than all the seventh and eighth graders
there with me. I went to Science Olympiad every year that it was offered to me, until freshman year
of high school when they dropped the program to save more money for basketball. I know that
Science Olympiad has greatly influenced my science concentration that I have now, and I am so
happy that it did.

I will explain several differences between science, non–science and pseudo–science first. Science is
simply the descriptions and explanations of the world. (Chalmers, 2013) Specifically speaking,
science is a useful tool to demonstrate the solution of real world questions, particularly for aspects
such as physics, biology, and biochemistry. (Laudan, 1981) It is worth noting that there are still
several issues that excluded from the scientific claim, for example, science is not able to evaluate
what positive or negative property of the facts as well as science would not provide a good
