No open access to research findings: journals segment and pay-wall content to make it hard to browse and read. Too expensive: their libraries cannot afford increasing pricing for research literature. No transparency in the review process: Quality assessment via traditional journals is done anonymously behind closed doors. Publishing becomes a service and fees can be based on the real costs of publication. Research impact can be measured on article level and journal Impact Factors lose meaning.
