1. School Bullying Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "School Bullying" can be a challenging yet crucial endeavor.
The difficulty lies not only in researching and gathering relevant information but also in
approaching the sensitive nature of the topic. Addressing the various facets of bullying, including
its psychological, emotional, and societal implications, requires a thoughtful and empathetic
perspective.
The complexity of the issue adds an extra layer of intricacy to the writing process. Balancing
statistical data, real-life examples, and expert opinions while maintaining a coherent and
persuasive argument can be demanding. Moreover, the emotional toll that bullying takes on
victims and the broader school community must be delicately articulated to convey the gravity
of the situation.
Constructing a well-organized essay that not only defines and analyzes bullying but also
proposes effective solutions demands a thorough understanding of the subject matter. It involves
navigating through the psychological aspects of the bully-victim dynamic, exploring the role of
bystanders, and examining the institutional response to bullying within schools.
Furthermore, it is essential to remain aware of the potential impact such an essay can have on
readers. Sensitivity is required to avoid inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or stigmatizing
individuals. Striking the right balance between raising awareness and fostering understanding is
key to producing an impactful and thought-provoking piece.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "School Bullying" entails navigating through a complex
web of emotions, statistics, and societal issues. It requires a careful and compassionate approach
to shed light on the problem while offering potential solutions. Though challenging, addressing

The workers demanded an eight hour workday for which the average work week
was sixty hours or more. The company hired strikebreakers which were often used
by this era. On May 3rd, 1886 as a protest resulted in the killing of an individual by
the police, and on May 4th a mass meeting was called to take place in the
Haymarket Square to protest what was seen as police brutality. At the meeting
there were approximately 1500 people as radical speakers addressed the crowd. As
the mood of the crowd began as a peaceful meeting that quickly turned
confrontational when the police began to break up the crowd. As fights broke out,
a powerful bomb was thrown. The police began to use their guns. Seven police
officers lost their lives which was later proclaimed that they were not killed by the
bomb but however from the bullets from other police officers from the chaos of
the event. Four citizens were killed and over a hundred were injured. The public
was outraged because of the event. Within the next two weeks, on the cover of a
magazine, illustrations were drawn of the bomb thrown into the crowd, cutting down
police officers, and a priest giving last rites to a police officer at the local police
station, thus leading to the blame of the riot on the labor movement and particularly
the Knights of Labor.
3. The Immigration And The Rule Of Law Essay
The Republicans Immigration and the Rule of Law is a controversial topic
because of the stereotypical propaganda that all legal and illegal immigrants take
jobs and blow up buildings. These ideas are byproducts of racial profiling in
America. Racial profiling is a common occurrence in the United States. In an article
called Racial profiling separate and unequal keeping the minorities in line the role of
law enforcement in America, it specifically talks about racial profiling in the police
force. The article expresses that racial profiling is one of the most serious, enduring,
and divisive human rights violations in the United States. April Walker has gone
more into detail about racial profiling. Also stating that social and economic
progress of African Americans over the past fifty years, Americans continue to live
in a country where racial inequity is the norm and it affects the progression of Black
Americans in the United States (Walker, 2011). The dominant belief about Blacks,
upon which their legal rights, or lack of, were historically constructed, was the belief
in their ontological inferiority. (Walker, 2011) . In traditional Americanism, Black
American people are perceived as poor, lazy, lustful, ignorant, and prone to criminal
behavior. (Walker, 2011). April Walker also expresses multiple incidences that
minorities were the victims of brutal attacks. Walker further goes into if raceor
religion or ethnicity increase the chance of becoming a victim,
4. The Main Ideas of Liberal Political Theory
Examine the main ideas of Liberal political theory
It is perhaps safe to say that the most prominent political philosophy in contemporary
era is liberalism. Liberalism is based on the ideas of liberal political theorists of the
last three hundred years. Among these ideas, the first and most important deals with
the question of liberty. Political theorists such as John Locke and John Stuart Mill
argued that liberty of individual citizens must be upheld by the state. Mill
particularly stated that the state should be liberal by default. The burden of proving
that liberty should be restricted or prohibited should lie on the states. Unless they
can provide such proof, all citizens should by presumption be at liberty. Locke,
Rousseau, and Hobbes stated that liberty could be restricted under certain
circumstances. For instance, when the state is threatened by a revolt, and since the
state is the guarantor of liberty of all its subjects, the state is justified in curtailing
some liberal policies but temporarily. The government under liberal political theory
is viewed as a necessary evil. The theory suggests that the power and the role of the
state should be minimized. There should also be a balance of power in the state.
Democracy is essential for liberal political theory. Citizens should enjoy both liberty
and the freedom to elect or, in the absence of liberal political order, overthrow the
government. But the liberties of citizens cannot be guaranteed in a state of anarchy.
5. Las Vegas Escorts Essay
What sets Escorts Las Vegas apart from the sea of sources for female
companionship? For starters, we align with women who lead dynamic lifestyles
outside of their work as an escort in Vegas. We ensure they are well rounded so
they bring something more to the table than their striking good looks. Outer
beauty captures the eye, but inner beauty and charisma establish a gal s true
degree of desirability. We strive to put forth perfection, and our dedication to
excellence established our status as the escort service Las Vegas residents and
guests rely on. This city has our heart, and our entertainers hearts as well, making
them the perfect companions for anyone who aspires to make the most out of their
Sin City adventure. #### Stringent Standards One of the most common
complaints about independent Vegas escorts is that they often fail to come
through in all the ways in which they promised. When we are part of your plan,
there are no hiccups. We say this with confidence because ladies profiled here
appreciate and adhere to our strict criterion. High class Vegas escorts are the sort
heedful men want to meet, as they recognize the dangers associated with those
who are not overseen by an agency. The truth is, there are too many variables when
there is not an agency ensuring a flawless arrangement. You should value your
resources as much as you do your good time, and if for some reason, you are not well
pleased by the girl who knocks on your door, you are encouraged to phone
6. Comparing The Taurian And Iphigenia At Aulus
A generation prior to Trojan War, Thyestes and Atreus were two brothers who
contended for throne of Argos. The man Thyestes seduced the wife of his brother
and was exiled by Atreus from Argos. When Thyestes later asked for forgiveness,
his brother pretended to have forgiven him but planned to secretly avenge for his
wife s seduction, and also to show that his brother was unclean before citizens of
Argos so that he wouldn t get the crown. This essay will compare the major
character in each of Iphigenia among the Taurians, Electra and Iphigenia at Aulis
plays. Atreus revenges for seduction of his wife by killing two children of Thyestes.
Later, Atreus killed two sons of Thestes and cut them into pieces, then served them at

7. Compare And Contrast Gattaca And Brave New World
Life extensions are critically dependent on futuristic medical advancements.
However, a strong noble compass is needed to ensure scientific advancements do not
cross moral ethics of life. Brave New World, written by Aldous Huxley, and the
movie Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol, propose technologically advanced
societies that challenge ethical and moral views. Although Brave New Worldand
Gattaca relate in genetic discrimination, they differ in technology s powers and
limits, as well as the resiliency of the human spirit. Both works emphasize genetic
discrimination as a major part of their society. Brave New World uses technology
to create a utopian society free from non conformity. Furthermore, it places
individuals into separate levels of social class based on the perceived needs of the
World State. These different classes provide a specific purpose. The protagonist,
John, lives in the Savage Reservation outside of the World State. The Reservation is a
dystopia, as it has a degenerated environment and individuals with no self control.
John is relegated to the bottom of the social class due to his genetic identity and
living style. If one s different, one s bound to be lonely (Huxley 145). Like John,
Vincent in Gattaca also receives prejudice from the utopian society for his genetic
composition. He is considered invalid due to his heart condition. Like Brave New
World, Gattaca is a utopian environment created by technological advancements to
limit possible error.
8. Loch Ness Monster Myths
Do you believe in the Loch Ness Monster? Most people around the world are
familiar with the legend of Loch Ness, and Nessie certainly has her share of fans.
But what exactly is a loch? Loch is a Scottish term that refers to bodies of water that
are connected to the sea, but almost landlocked. Loch Ness is the largest by volume
of all lochs in Scotland, having a maximum depth of over seven hundred feet, and
covering twenty three miles in length(Loch Ness). The sheer size of LochNess is
enough to make some wonder what could be lurking below the murky depths. Being
an old world country, Scotland is steeped with culture and history spanning back
thousands of years. The Loch Ness monster, as it is known today, most likely has

586, with a written report from the same man credited with bringing the Christian
religion to Scotland. During his trips through Scotland, Saint Columba purportedly
observed something strange while on his way to meet with a Pictish king(NOVA).
While attempting to cross Loch Ness, he saw Pict villagers burying a man they
claimed was killed by a monster in the loch. Undeterred of the potential danger,
Columba asked one of his followers to fetch him a boat that was anchored close by
to cross with. Upon entering the water, his follower was promptly attacked by the
same monster that killed the Pict man. Being a devout believer in the power of
Christ, Saint Columba raised his hands, arranged them into a cross, and exclaimed,
you will go no further, and won t touch the man; go back at once (Christianity). The
monster sped away and Columba s follower managed to make it to safety. The
details on this story varies; in some versions, St. Columba arrives in time to save
the Pict man s life before scaring off the monster. Whether it is based on fact or
fiction is unclear; in any case, it demonstrates the prolific belief of an uncategorized
creature living in Loch Ness dating back to ancient
9. The Ethics Of Christopher Roller
Christopher Roller is God and therefore he has godly powers, or so he thinks. In
June of 2005, Christopher Roller, a resident of Minnesota, sued two magicians
(David Blaine and David Copperfield) for defying the laws of physics and using
Godly powers. He claims that he is God and so, therefore, they are stealing his
powers. He demanded that the magicians show their secret tricks to him and give
him 10% of their total income for life. Wow, now that is so ridiculous that it s
funny. This is one of the many examples of frivolous lawsuits that we see today in
our society. Our courts of law have been littered continuously with cases like this.
The justice system is being abused; our taxpayer money is being flushed down the
toilet with these lawsuits. In 2006, the WESH news group reported that Since 2004,
at least 336 lawsuits have been filed against local governments, costing taxpayers
more than $16 million . Much can be done with 16 million in local places. But that
doesn t happen. First of all, we spend our precious money on ludicrous suits.
Secondly, these lawsuits affect our society, and they clutter our court system. Third of
all, people take the rights that we have in our nation and abuse them to the maximum.
In America, we have so many freedoms, more than many in other countries. Our
justice system is one of the greatest advantages to the people because everyone is
equal under it. In the court, everybody, no matter the rank in society everything is
viewed with the same
10. Pablo Picasso And Picage Seurat Analysis
How can a painting have so much to say Is one question that people may ask
themselves. Telling stories and expressing one s self in paintings brings one to
show others a new way of seeing and thinking about life. The canvas of every writer
is easy to visualize or to relate to by how the painter expressed himself and wanted to
portray the message through a painting. From Pablo Picassoto George Seurat and to
so much more. The meaning and story of the panting s take you to a whole
different world. They make us view things differently and see things in a new
perspective by how the painter is showing or expressing themselves. They explain
what they had to go through or what was going on, by telling their story we can feel
the emotion behind it as well as how raw it makes one feel. Through the painting,
one can make their assumptions about what the story is. The beauty of art shows
either the great or corrupt that the painter sees or the ongoing situation. They show
the people different perspectives of what s going on and they make you feel the
same emotion that they put on the painting. We see art as a way of expression and it
makes us connect to the painting that we see. The art helps us understand the way the
person behind the drawing felt or what they saw when it was going on. The beauty of
art is that it lets everyone express themselves through painting, so we can tell our
story. Art is expressed through 1) human culture, 2) emotion, and 3) communication.
Through human culture, the artist shows the emotion that takes place. Every artist
expresses them in a unique way. They focus on things that catch their eyes or things
that they feel are important. The artist paints to show the world many different sides
of human culture as well as current events. For example, Pablo Picasso painted a
painting named Guernica which symbolized the horrors of war and as a result, has
become an anti war symbol. He was protesting the bombing of Guernica. On the far
left is a woman, head back, screaming in pain and grief, holding the lifeless body of
her dead child. This is one of the most devastating and unforgettable images in the
painting. To her right is the head and partial body of a large white bull, the only
unharmed and
11. Narrate Religious Experiences In Todd Burpo s Heaven Is...
The 2010 New York Times best selling Christian novel Heaven is For Real by Todd
Burpo depicts the story of a little boy s trip to Heaven and back. Throughout the
novel Todd s son, Colton Burpo, explains various visions of Heaven that he
witnessed while he was having a life saving surgery. This story is one of many
Christian narratives of religious experiences and although there are a variety of
experiences this paper will focus only on the personal narratives of visions of heaven.
Christian s have used different approaches to narrate these experiences throughout
time including novels, movies, news clips, drawings, teachings and other forms of
narration. Christian s use these narratives as a form of sharing their experiences and
teaching others. This essay will examine how Christian s narrate their religious
experiences and why they narrate them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the beginning of Christianity, the word of mouth has been the main form for
spreading experiences and teachings, but other ways they may do so include
novels, movies, and sketches of their visions. Nowadays, there are many forms of
narration that are used. One form that is used in sharing personal narratives of one
s visions of Heaven is novels. There are hundreds of books, similar to Heaven is
For Real, written by a range of people varying in age from young to old based on
similar experiences. As we discussed in class, those who has claimed to have
visited Heaven, or had an out of body experience, have different stories of what
Jesus looked like, who they saw when they arrived and what they saw while they
were in Heaven. In writing a novel, one is able to share these stories and images that
they experienced with others in hope that others may relate or be encouraged to
express their own

Murders and crime in the past decades left a negative impact throughout the city of

in Brooklyn the unthinkable happens. The news is reporting that a possible serial
killer was on the loose killing young brunette women. The name of the possible
serial killer was David Berkowitz who was dubbed the .44 caliber killer.

Sitting in Mr.Mishler s room during 5th hour having spare time to watch videos off
of Youtube. Through the search engine I typed in Wildest Musicians and through
my results came up a name of a man called Kurt Cobain. I wouldn t necessarily call
him wild... more like unique... For this man at the end of most of his songs I ve
experience just watching him, as he riffs on his solo, waving his blonde yellow
hair, becoming in depth with the guitar as if it was bonding with him with every
note that he played. Finally with a wave of his arms and down he brought his arms
like a hammer coming down. Cobain would destroy a perfectly working condition
electric guitar. With every swing it was as if blood lust ran through his eye s as a
wild man hallucinating in the wilderness. Reason explaining why such action take

15. The Lost Boy Drawing Was Influenced By Pali
The Lost Boy drawing was influenced by the short story Pali. I chose to do this
project on Pali because, I found this short story the most interesting compared to the
other readings. Plus, once you started reading it, it was hard to stop. The Lost Boy
drawing represents Pali a young boy of a Hindu family. Pali loses his familywhen
they are boarding the lorries to leave the refugee camps. The lorries are represented
in the drawing, because this is where the story of Pali all started. In the drawing, Pali
is the main focal point similar to the short story. Also in the drawing, Pali is raising
his hands and crying for help, Pitaji! Pitaji! (pg. 59), which means father in Hindu. I
chose this quote because, Pali is like a lost boy in an unfamiliar... Show more content

Pali is appalled by this, and cries. The social worker states, You are a Hindu boy
(pg. 70). This quote was used for the drawing because, Pali is going from Hindu to
Muslim back to Hindu. The Hindu community did not appreciate how Pali still
used Muslim traditions, instead of Hindus. The transition from Muslim back to
Hindu is the hardest since Pali was Muslim from four to eleven years old, which
was most of his life at the time. This also ties in with the drawing of the Muslim
hat versus the Hindu hat, and how the Hindu s and Muslim s are arguing which
religion Pali should be. My image relates to the reference Conflict: Hindus and
Muslims in the book The Indians, because it explains all the differences and
thoughts that each religion has on each other. In Conflict: Hindus and Muslims it
talks about the violence between the religions and how it all started. Similar to the
short story of Pali. Pali shows the conflict on the two religions, by an actual story of
him being Hindu and Muslim. All in all, I really enjoyed reading the story about
Pali, and it really taught me every day struggles of Indians and their religions, Hindu

17. Integrated Services Digital Network ( Isdn )
Before we get into the discussion, let s briefly introduce some of the technologies
used in WANs and the different characteristics of each one:
Point to point links
A so called point to point link (Fig. 2.0) provides a pre established WAN
communication path from the user s location trough a telephone company s
network, also known as the carrier. For this kind of line, the carrier dedicates pairs
of wire and hardware to that line only. This kind of circuits are priced depending on
bandwidth needed and distance to be covered.
(Figure 2.0 Point to point link)
Circuit Switching
Work like a normal telephone line. Data connections can be started when needed and
terminated when the communication is over. An example of circuit switching is
called Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN). When a router receives data that s
intended to go to a specific remote site, the switched circuit (Fig. 2.1) is initiated with
a specific circuit number for that particular network. As soon the two networks that
are trying to connect get the authentication done, it is possible to transfer data. When
data transmission is over, the communication gets terminated.
(Figure 2.1 Switched Circuit)
Packet Switching
Here users share common carrier resources (Fig. 2.2). This is a more cost effective
solution compared for example to point to point lines. The carrier can make more
efficient use of its infrastructure. Connections into the carrier s network are shared
between many customers and

GPS, drones, spying, and nuclear war are all capabilities of the everyday items

enormous web infrastructure called the internet of things (IOT). The internet of

devices which can achieve physical accomplishments such as taking a pulse. The
Internet of things was said to have been discovered in 1999 during a presentation at
Procter and Gamble. When Business moguls were trying to find a way to make the
internet profitable, they manufactured the term internet of things. Ironically, IOT
tracked its usage of term online through Google Trends . According to Google, since

Further implication of the internet of things will destroy the American culture that
was built upon an innovative but cautious society. IOT is essentially creating an
internet stock bubble full of subprime security and the fallacy of a more connected

connected environment between conscious life and technological advancement.
Stephen Hawking himself recently posted that when true artificial intelligence is
achieved, humankind is finished (tripwire). The slippery slope of innovation is
clearly shown when IOT reaches artificial intelligence because where do humans
draw the line when AI is building its own race? The American society would
inevitably be controlled by a dystopian nervous system of IOT devices similar to that
of the Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Humankind would innovate itself
out of the equation in order to satisfy the unending human urge for discovery. The
U.S would not conduct foreign affairs in the same way as it does currently because
our country would be more susceptible to hacking and large scale cyber attacks from
enemy countries. The right of people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers,
and effects is covered by the U.S constitution s fourth amendment. This amendment
becomes virtually useless because of the logistical nightmare that IOT

my clients think like I am crazy when I tell them that a rug pad is necessary for all

If you are having a large rug, you can buy a simple non slip rug pad to keep your area
rug from slipping or shifting from its position. If you are only interested in
keeping your larger area rugs from sliding from its position, then just buying a
basic non slip rug pad can do the trick. However, a quality rug pad is only essential
for smaller rugs. For larger area rugs, a basic non skid rug pad can help in preventing
them from slipping or sliding. My recommendation is a natural rubber rug pad
because it is more eco friendly (made from rubber tree sap) and won t stain your
hardwood floors. My best bet is eco friendly rug pad, the ones that are made from the
sap of the rubber tree. They not only helps the environment but also won t leave
any stain on your floor. You can go for eco friendly natural rubber rug pad, because
it can help the environment and most importantly, it won t stain your hardwood
floor. The best option is natural rubber rug pad, since it is more environmentally
friendly and also won t leave any kind of stain on your floor surface. Again, they
are a bit more expensive than traditional china imported pvc padding, but I wouldn t
risk damaging your hardwood floors as some pvc padding has been known to yellow
or stain the flooring. They are quite costly than the china made pvc padding, but it

20. Differences And Fall Of The Han Dynasty And The Roman
Empire
The Han Dynasty and Roman Empire both ruled for considerably long periods,
spanning over four centuries around the same time. The Zhou Dynasty, an early
Chinese empire, ruled to around the beginning of the Han Dynasty. Their
government was based on feudalism; this giving power to the rich in their society.
Overextension led to the fall of their rule, leading to the rise of Confucianism and
Legalism. These beliefs along with Taoism led to the warring states period, these
views leading to the start of the Qin Dynasty and then to the Confucianist Han
Dynasty. Like the beginning of the Han Dynasty, the Roman Empirebegan with
nobility rule. A difference would be that the Roman Republic s fall had more to do
with the tension between the classes. This leading to Julius Caesar s rule, like Qin
Shi Huangdi the Emperor of the Qin Shi Dynasty. Caesar s assassination lead to the
rise of the Roman Empire. The beginning of their regions early powers began around
the same period and spanned for around the same length, this provided for similarities
between the two, such as tension between classes, and expansion of their trade routes,

21. The Importance Of Physical Activity In Education
Ask any teacher what the most valuable part to their day is and they will say time.
There is truly never enough time in the day to complete all the necessary tasks
brought forward by the educational system. Teachers are urged to maximize their
teaching time as much as possible with little to none physical activity breaks. Even
though there are many unanswered questions about physical activity, the one that
continues to present itself is, what is considered the optimal amount of time for
physical activity during the school day? In the current study where Howie, Schatz,
and Pate investigate physical activity and academic achievement, findings have
suggested that when physical activity breaks are incorporated into the school day,
there is an improvement in cognitive ability, however they did not state the amount of
time spent on physical activity (Howie, Schatz, Pate,2015). Although these findings
are quite convincing, educators are still expected involve more curriculum that
focuses on standardized testing and decrease physical activity breaks throughout the
school day. Next topic to be discussed, is research regarding physical activity and
those with developmental disabilities. While this research is rare, finding by recent
researchers reveal that children with disabilities engaged in more physical activity,
than their regular education peers. As stated in the study, the current recommendation
for school aged children is for them to accumulate at least 60 minutes

clerk can quickly see a customer approaching the cash register, quickly key in a

helps both the store and its suppliers refine marketing and inventory and allow both
the store and corporate managers to read the same data. The store manager will

When people concur with and appreciate the quotes from Peter Pan, like don t
grow up, it s a trap , it is an indication that they ve already experienced countless
changes in life ( Peter Pan Quotes ). The majority of the children wants to grow up
because they witness adults enjoying their privileges, so they also want to act
according to their own desires. However, all the children have to go through an
inevitable period of emotional and physical maturity before reaching adulthood. The
Pomegranateintensively depicts a maturing teenage daughter and the complicated
relationship she now has with her mother. In the poem, Eavan Boland uses multiple

Letting go of the child whom one nourished from birth is challenging. When the
mother senses her child drifting away and sees her child at the gateway to
independence, who once ran to meet her when the she picked up from school, the

bounds of anguish and disappointment. The mother considers what s best for the

Johnnie Dent Jr. once said, As parents we have a tendency to be overprotective; it s
okay to try and show them all positives, but we cannot forget that the real world has

carefully described through appropriate allusion, syntax, and symbols in the poem. As
the poem suggests, silently watching the child make life choices and wishing the best

speaker research. Now the working outline is only a rough outline. In this outline the
speaker might use question for the main points and later use sentences for the

conduct research. When researching the speaker wants to find material the will make
the audience want to listen and learn. The speaker should select material that have a

There are a lot of questions concerning the policy of genetically modified crops in
India, regarding the approach towards the development of economy, the technological
impact on the nation and also the relationships between farming and business
communities. The supporting parties of Biotechnology in agriculture argue that the
genetically modified crops could be the solution to most of the existing problems in
the country s agriculture; opposing parties argue that it could have negative impact
on the environment and livelihood of farmers. The policy changes in India on the

32. Pros And Cons Of The Old Colegium System
Instances of such bias and corruption have often surfaced in the process appointment
of judges of High Court and Supreme Court. That is the reason that today there is a
nationwide outcry today for the right to the information into the system of judicial
appointment. The system of appointment of judges has always been an area of
controversy and confusion. Several attempts have been made to arrive at position
which will strike the right balance between separation of power and right to
information which have yet proven to be unsuccessful. The only hope of having a
balanced system via NJAC Act was struck down by the Supreme Court as
unconstitutional and void whilst reviving the old system of electing Chief Justices of
High Court and Supreme Court... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To begin with, therefore, the entire appointment system needs to be opened up to the
Right to Information (RTI) Act, so that any citizen can seek and get information
about the process through which a judge was appointed. Information like names of
advocates considered, bio data of each candidate, why the collegium zeroed in on
him/her while rejecting another, the copies of various forms filled by the
candidate, dissent note, if any, by any member of the collegium, reasons why a
High Court Chief Justice was ignored for elevation to the top court in favour of
another HC CJ who was junior to him, all should be accessible under the RTI Act.
Consider this (hypothetical) situation: Three lawyers take a competitive exam for
the subordinate judiciary. Two clear the test, and are appointed as magistrates; the
third flunks and becomes a lawyer. After about 25 years as judicial officers, the
two who had cleared the exam are considered for elevation to the Bench by a High
Court collegium, comprising, ironically, the third lawyer, who, after a few years of
practice, had been directly elevated to the Bench of the HC. This candidate was
related to a former judge of the same High Court, and was elevated despite a
lacklustre performance as a

This study assesses how altering step rate has been shown to reduce joint loading
forces. This could be a strategy that runners implement to help minimize

patellofemoral joint force by 14%. The peak stance phase of kneeflexion decreased
when step rate was increased. This was the most important factor that predicted a
reduction of joint loading forces at the knee.

Thomas Rico was a famous actor in the 1860 s, who played the character named
Jim Crow, in theaters. Around the time that Jim Crow became popular, slave were
being free from plantations and new laws were being made in the south. These laws
were created to limit the freedom of newly freed African Americans. White people in
the south grew fond of both Jim Crow and the new laws that they started calling
these laws Jim Crow Laws. Though the African Americans were freed and had
rights, whites would use laws so they could have power over African Americans,
Jim Crow Laws were mainly found in the southern states of the the US, but could
also sometimes be found in northern states. These laws were created around the
time the 14th amendment was created in which all races had the right to vote. Jim
Crow Laws were meant to limit the freedom of Africans American. These laws

It is believed by many people that Robert Fulton was the first to invent the
steamboat, although he was truly the one to create the first competent vessel,
designed and created well enough to make decent voyages, including fighting
currents. In the oncoming future, there were still plenty of modifications to be
made, but Fulton along with Robert R. Livingston brought their new steam ship
plans to the United States from France; after Livingston obtained a New York state
steam boat monopoly, in hope to control the water ways of one of the largest ports
of the time. In 1798 Livingston received this monopoly allowing him the exclusive
ability of navigating all boats that might be propelled by steam, on all waters within
the territory, or jurisdiction of the State, for the term of twenty years. Not only did
this act give Fulton and Livingston the complete control of navigating the waters of
New York State but the ability to also seize any other vessel operated by others with
out the license that only these two men could distribute as well as the collecting of a
fine for the penalty of operating a vessel against the law. The partnership and
monopolistic control of Livingston and Fulton began on the maiden voyage of their

37. Paiste Hi-Hats
The Sound Edge series of hi hats from Paiste are designed to get the most out of a
drummer s hi hat technique. The signature CuSn8 bronze hats are well suited for all
styles of play, but created with energetic footwork in mind. The high hat pair creates a
consistently crisp chick sound when stepping on the pedal to enhance the drums time
keeping. This allows the SoundEdge hi hat cymbals to cut through the guitars to
create great presence in the musicmix. Whether keeping time or adding accents, these
Paiste hi hats add a new percussion voice to the drum set without accessories.
Standard stock hi hats have a smooth edge on both cymbals, which can trap air
when playing and cause sound inconsistencies. This is often mitigated by adjusting
the angle of the bottom cymbal using a bolt found on most hi hat stands. The Paiste
Sound Edge hi hats have a bottom cymbal with a wavy edge that allows air to
escape without resistance. That means closing the cymbal pair creates a consistent
and uninhibited sound so players and drum with a precise feel. It also means that
additional accessories or microphones aren t required to bring the hi hat sound to life

This allows drummers to keep the bright sound qualities that can be lost when
switching over to heavy projection hats. It also allows them to keep the technique
they developed on medium hats rather than altering their practiced sticking force.
Paiste Sound Edge hats use design innovation and their signature CuSn8 bronze alloy
for a crisp and pronounced cymbal sound. This means these Paiste hats cut through
any guitar riff without changing the feel or style of the drum

Strength and Conditioning is essential for athletes, not only to optimise performance,
but also to reduce the risk of injury. Discuss this statement.
From my research I have learnt that appropriate conditioning is essential not only to
optimise performance, but also to reduce the risk of injury. Research has
demonstrated that strength and conditioning training not only improves performance
in strength, power and speed related sports and activities but also in endurance based
sports and activities.

Krakauer
The author skillfully uses literary techniques to convey his purpose of giving life to a
man on an extraordinary path that led to his eventual demise and truthfully telling the
somber story of Christopher McCandless. Krakauer enhances the story by using irony
to establish Chris s unique personality. The author also uses Characterization the give
details about Chris s lifestyle and his choices that affect his journey. Another literary
element Krakauer uses is theme. The many themes in the story attract a diverse
audience. Krakauer s telling is world famous for being the truest, and most heart felt

Through this technique, Krakauer helps to develop Chris s personality and t
conveys the author s purpose of tell McCandless s story. One method Krakauer
uses is characterization. He uses this technique to draw parallels to himself and
the main character. The author convinces the reader just how similar he and Chris
are for example, As a youth, I am told, I was willful, self absorbed, intermittently
reckless, moody. I disappointed my father in the usual ways. Like McCandless,
figures of male authority aroused in me a confusing medley of corked fury and
hunger to please (Krakauer, 134). This quote directly describes how similar Chris
and Krakauer are. The author s goal in writing this story was to tell Chris s saga
and give life to a truly eccentric man. He succeeds by describing how both his and
McCandless s journey had a huge impact on their personality and feelings towards
society. During much of his trip, Chris avoided close relationships with people and
had very little interaction with other human beings. As the reader learns more about
the character and his life, we learn that he matured a great deal on his sojourn.
Towards the end of his journey, he realizes, happiness is only real when shared .
(McCandless, 189) By adding this quote, the reader feels sympathy for Chris because
he is in such poor condition. At this point in the novel, the reader feels connected to
the main character and his exuberant personality. Krakauer

college years are the best years . It is known as an unforgettable time filled with
meeting new people, forming lifelong relationships, and also the beginning of
making your own choices and decisions. However, college also means heavy
workloads, countless hours of studying, and little to no sleep. Although, the hard
work often pays off in the end, the seemingly endless journey can be overwhelming

Perhaps, Jake was continuously questioning his major only adding to his stress
levels. A therapist who is associated with the cognitive approach would try to
convince Jake to manufacture positive thoughts. Rather than doubting himself and
his abilities, Jake would be advised to work on his confidence. For example, prior to
an upcoming exam, Jake should embody the mindset that he will do great. This
advice to dispose of senseless thoughts and replace them with encouraging ones are
mentioned in Aaron T. Beck s cognitive therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy
(Ciccarelli 2015).
Concluding, it is no secret that Jake has encountered difficulties and misfortunes
during a memorable time in his life. Although the treatments might differ for each
perspective, they all originated from very similar behavior with Jake s fear of
failure being the main contributing factor. Treatment for Jake s condition could
range from something so simple such as a trip to the guidance counselor s office to
reshape his class schedule or consulting with a therapist. It could also be a mental fix
that consists of adopting a more positive outlook on life and believing in

43. Oracle Vapors In Ancient Greek
Exercise 2.5
In the origins of Greece, ancient Greek mythology and sources have explained
incidents of the oracles of Delphi. The Delphic oracles were primarily female
prophets who were told to have inhaled certain vapors from a spring in the temple of
the Greek god, Apollo, which allowed the prophets to serve as a supernatural
connection to the specific God. Despite the historical evidence that supports the idea
of the mysterious oracle vapors, modern day archeologists and geologists rejected
the idea completely. Many of the rejections are due to the lack of archeological
findings of vapors at Delphi. Two men by the name of Jelle Zeilinga De Boer, a
chemist, and John Hale, an archeologist, had then stepped up to study both the
geological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the Greek government standpoint, if they allow De Boer and Hale to proceed
with their research, they would not have to worry about cost because both men are
willing to do the research for free. If anything, the Greek governments has nothing
to lose, and should not have a problem with allowing the two scientists to carry out
their research. By granting Hale and De Boer the freedom to go on with their
research, Greece would be able to gain potential benefits. If Hale and De Boer are
successful in proving emission of ethylene gas from the oracle at Delphi, it will
provide Greece with more historical value and significance of the Apollo temple.
Moreover, Greece will even be able to discover whether or not the faults under
Delphi contained ethylene and prove the idea that the Oracle of Delphi may have
inhaled the fumes in order to make prophecies. Lastly, to find where De Boar and
Hale precisely mention the benefits and costs of their research in their proposal, it
can easily be pointed out under the Background section. In the Background section,
De Boer and Hale provide their audience with basic background information on the
Oracle at Delphi, the vapors released from the temple, and evidence that goes against
the original historical Greek

Bear Mountain is Connecticut s highest peak at 2,316 feet. So you know the views
are gorgeous. The Undermountain Trail is rated moderate, but that s a
compromise. It s an easy hike along parts of the Appalachian Trail, with a few
creek crossings and nice spots to pull off for a rest or a picnic. Until the end, when

45. The Pros And Disadvantages Of Modern Test Taking

Modern Test Taking
There have been many studies done to figure out which of the many testing styles
allow students to both retain more information and help elevate some of the pre exam
stress, while at the same time not putting too much work on the professor. Out of all
the styles that have been tested, two of the most common styles that constantly rival
each other are the open book test vs. the closed book tests. Many teachers still cling to
the traditional closed books test.
A closed book test is a test where students are expected to study their note before a
test is given and try their very best to memorize everything that they can fit into their
heads in order to successfully pass the test, then go into the exam with nothing but the
pencil in their hand and the test on their desk.
An open book test, is a test that allows students to bring either their notes or
something that can be written on such as a sheet of paper or a note card that was
given to the student before the exam.
Both of these exam types have a wide range of both advantages and disadvantages.
One of the most common disadvantages that is often mentioned for closed book
exams is the fact that as far as the real world is concerned, closed book test are
unrealistic. For many subjects the idea of doing a task with nothing but the sole
information in someone s head would be seen as not only absurd but actually
careless. An example of this absurdity and

All quotations and references refer to Hulu: An Evil plot to Destroy the World
unless otherwise noted. 1) Hulu succeeded while everyone predicted its failure due
to the following reasons: * Hulu harnessed existing technologies namely online video
and broadcast media to create a new platform that was focused on helping users find
and enjoy the world s premium, professionally produced content when where and
how they want it . The platform brought together professional content owners
/providers, advertisers and content consumers/users in a platform mediated network.
* Rather than choose to be a destination site or syndicate content, Hulu chose to be

* Hulu also focused on users and offered its service free to them thereby maximising
the cross side network effects between users and advertisers on its platform resulting
in increased revenues generated from advertisers. 2) Hulu s business strategy is to be
focused on helping users find and enjoy the world s premium professionally produced
content when, where and how they want it . Hulu does this by using Internet
technology to bring free content to its users anywhere at any time. Hulu is a first
mover in this space and is currently enjoying the first mover advantage. However with
the ubiquity of internet technology accompanied by lower costs and the
commoditization of the technology, the barrier to entry will be reduced and more
players will be attracted to the profitable online video business, eating into Hulu s
profitability and success. Also, the increase in IT investments in the internet age
causes a Winner take all dynamic and high turbulence, as each group of dominant
innovators is threatened by succeeding waves of innovation (McAfee and
Brynjolfsson, 2008) in Schumpeterian competition. This makes Hulu s success
vulnerable. The case mentions that there is already an emergence of competitive
threat from TV Everywhere and even though CEO, Jason Kilar discounts the effect
on Hulu, the new entrant is
47. The Moroccan Project, By Alonzo King Essay
Perfection in Dance
Watching a video of a dance piece called The Moroccan Project, choreographed by
Alonzo King was quite impressive. Living in San Francisco and taking dance
classes brought me to Lines Ballet which is King s dance studio. I have seen a great
deal of different types of dance at the studio waiting for my Ballet classes and there
are some great dancers. It comes as no surprise that Alonzo would have such great
dancers. It appears that Alonzo King is exploring different cultures in dance in
Contemporary Ballet. His near perfect choreography is articulate, passionate, and
graceful he brings diversity in dance to San Francisco and other parts of the world.
This piece articulates the expression of the two dancers coming together yet dancing
apart at times it is a fusion of several different types of dances into one using video
editing to create a story about the coming together of two individuals.
The Moroccan Project is an articulate dance piece because it is clean, crisp, precise,
and contains tribal dance elements. King defines his dance with simple costumes,
dim lighting, and a plain backdrop but the dancing speaks volumes with its perfect
lines and simple intricate movements. The two dancers Meredith Webster and Corey
Scott Gilbert seem to not miss one single beat here. They are dancing a mix of Ballet,
Modern, and Contemporary dance and King mixes in Moroccan culture with tribal
dance movements. At :28 in the

First, Stalin declared that the Polish question was a question both of honor and
security. Causing countless grievances, Russia s past desire to eliminate Poland made
the Polish question a question of honor, and in the last thirty years Russia had been
invaded through Poland twice due to its location which made the Polish question a
question of security. Russia concurred with Churchill, saying that Russia wants a
strong, independent and democratic Poland , most likely because building a stronger
Poland answers both the question of honor and security. Afterward, Stalin stated that
the Curzon and Clemenceau fixed the Curzon Line, not Russians; moreover, Poland s
borders would much rather be extended to the West Neisse River. Finally, Stalin
outright rejected the proposal of a Polish government; he believed that the only path
to creating a Polish government was through the consent and advice of the Polish
people. Stalin s concise counterargument set the standard for the topic of the Polish
question, and his resolute stance on the Polish government and Polish boundaries
would remain the dominant

Admittedly, aircrafts have made valuable contributions to the field of transportation.
From childhood, I have been genuinely captivated by the intricate engineering behind
the design of space crafts, space shuttles and airplanes. Aerospace engineers often
encounter a set of unique challenges as they apply mathematical and scientific
knowledge to design and build such novel inventions. Of all the A level subjects,
Physics and Mathematics have always been my best suits. In essence, Physics relates
physical phenomena using simplified formulas and theories while Mathematics
provides the basis of solving complex problems. In particular, I learnt and appreciated
how to relate theory to calculations while studying Mathematics at A level in the
mechanics module. When combined, the A level science subjects have offered me
valuable insights into the field of aerospace engineering. ... Show more content on

50. Freedom For White And The Pursuit Of Happiness
Throughout antiquity there have been powerful men and women that with one act
change the course of history forever. The men and women had become unsettled
by the ideals of the time and decided that the only way to get something done is to
do it yourself. Whether by chance or choice the actions taken by those brave men
and woman helped to shape the very diverse and free world of today. However, in
history, only one person effected the world in such a profound way that without them
a country would not have been formed and the racial barriers that held generations in
chains would have never been broken. The person was Crispus Attucksand unknown
to him at the time, he became the voice of freedom for white and African Americans
alike.
America had been oppressed by England since the beginning of its creation and
sought freedom from their rule. Americans fought and died for the sake of life,
liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those very principles helped to construct the
Declaration of Independence, which declared liberty and equality to every man. As
God as the enforcer of these natural rights, independence would be granted to
America and the citizens that lived there. Nevertheless, the liberty and equality that is
man s birth right never fully extended to all men. African Americans citizens were not
granted those rights that whites were given so easily. The same African Americans
that fought alongside with the rebels for independence, would not be granted their
own freedom
51. Fahrenheit 451 Phoenix Analysis
Why are phoenix and a fireman the same
In fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury compares a phoenix and a fireman alike.
Animal and nature imagery the novel nature is presented as a force of innocence
and the truth beginning with clarisse s. Clarisse s convinces montag to taste the
rain and the experience change him irrevocably Montag escape from the city into
the country is a revelation to him showing him the enlightening power of
unspoiled nature. The phoenix is a symbol for renewal for life follows death in a
cleaning fire. The hearth or fireplace is a traditional symbol of the home the
salamander is one the official symbols of the fireman. The phoenix is a lizard who
is a mythic being able to live even in the presence of a fire it s skin is cold and
suggested that cold body can put out the flame the rising phoenix out of the ashes
live again. Fire is an interesting symbol in fahrenheit 451 because it symbolizes two
different meanings. The fireman who burn books and wear the number 451 on
their helments fire symolizes destruction (451 is the temperature at which paper
and books burn.) when fire is controlled symbolizes the flickering of self awareness
and knowledge. After the city is reduced to ashes by bombers in fahrenheit 451
granger compares mankind to phoenix that burns itself up and then rises out of it s
ashes over and over again both destroy themselves in fire and both start up again
amid the ashes. Ray Bradbury describes a phoenix as water and a fireman as fire the
hearth and the salamander mirrors symbol of self understanding of seeing oneself
clearly that recalls to montag s description of clarisse as a mirror in. Granger said ...

A Grand Loss My Grandfather died on December 5th, 2015. I was 15 at the time
and I had only just started highschool as a junior a few months prior. I didn t get to
see him recently before his death, nor was I able to say goodbye to him before his
passing. Instead, I got to wait patiently while the man I respected for so long took
his last breath. I watched as he passed away, right in front of my eyes. People die.
This is common knowledge people learn over the course of their own lives.
Whether it be experience from the passing of a friend or loved one, or they
themselves are in the same boat. At some point someone comes face to face with
death. It is, however, different when a child forces themselves to watch such a
tragic incident on their own accord. It changes a person, be it just a little, or to an
extreme. I was the latter. I remember when my father told me the news. I was playing

The experience was honestly chilling. I couldn t remember a time I ever saw my
Grandfather in a state like he was then. He had always been strong and joyful,
smiling at anyone who was willing to spend the time to look. So, when I saw him,
practically skin sticking to bone, it took everything I had to not cry the streams of
tears that screamed to pour out. He was someone who I always respected, and now
he was fighting to stay alive, and losing. His skin was turning gray. The hair on his
head had started to die, leaving only strands of dull white hair that speckled the top
of his head. The rest of his figure seemed small. He was sinking inside of the bed,
the ability of movement having left him long ago. His eyes were closed tightly,
pain spreading along his face every so often. I remember him scrunching up his face
and his mouth opening and closing like he was calling for help. Like he wanted
someone to save him from the pain he was
53. Global Airline Industry Essay
The airline industry has seen drastic changes since September 11, 2001. The
government ordered a complete shutdown for three days of not only all
commercial aircraft but such carriers as domestic flights and emergency aircraft.
For days after September 11th, all aircraft stayed on the ground. Even military
aircraft had to receive special clearance to fly. In a ripple effect, the entire economy
of the United States and the world was put on hold. The New York Stock Exchange
shut its doors because of the attacks on the towers of the World Trade Center.
The airline industry is classified into four categories by the Department of
Transportation. The four categories are International, National, Regional and Cargo.
The following are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of their cheaper fares, the larger airlines are forced to hold down the cost
of their flights in order to still attract customers. Of course when a smaller regional
carrier does not service a destination that one of the larger carriers does, then any
potential cost savings is lost. Another point worth noting is that several of these
regional carriers are subsidiaries of a larger airline. After September 11th,
passenger traffic dropped off severely, causing the airlines to cut flights, layoff
workers and park surplus aircraft (College Grad, n.d.). Conditions are favorable for
a turn around in passenger traffic. With the ever expanding world economy,
business travel has become more necessary. One area that is not expected to grow
is the domestic cargo segment in comparison to international cargo flights. Airlines
need to examine the destinations where they fly. If one of the destinations
becomes unpopular, then the airline will need to make adjustments or profits will
suffer. A good example would be back in the late 50 s where one of airlines main
destinations would have been Cuba. Some of the ways costs are figured in the
airline industry are as follows: available seat miles, revenue passenger miles, load
factor, and revenue per available seat miles. The available seat miles calculation is
the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown (Wikipedia,
2007). The revenue passenger miles calculation is the
