The Scarlet Macaw parrot is endangered in Chiapas, Mexico. It lives in the forests and trees near rivers in southern Mexico and some South American countries. Threats to the Scarlet Macaw include habitat loss and environmental degradation from human activities, as well as illegal poaching for the pet trade. The Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Association (ARCAS) is a Guatemalan non-profit working to rescue and protect the Scarlet Macaw parrot in its natural habitat.
