OpenNebulaconf2017US: Vtastic:Akamai innovations for distributed system testi...OpenNebula Project
Akamai Technologies’ CDN platform is a complex, highly-integrated distributed system consisting of over 200,000 servers in over 120 countries.. Processing over 3 Trillion web requests per day, the Akamai platform regularly serves over 30Tbps of traffic to end users around the world. Setup and maintenance of Akamai integration test environments involves a significant investment of hardware, time and subject matter expertise. As a result, these environments are a scarce resource. Using Opennebula, Akamai has developed a system for saving and cloning multi-node integration test environments on-demand. The system is succeeding and has the potential to revolutionize Akamai’s approach to software development and testing. After exploring Akamai’s platform architecture and testing challenges, we will describe the key innovations that enabled the Vtastic solution, challenges we faced in implementing a reliable system, and future capabilities the system can offer.

Što danas zamjenjuje Small Business Server?Tomislav Lulic
Kroz demo pokazati kako Windows Server 2012 R2 Essential i Office 365 mogu pružiti Enterprise mogućnosti manjim tvrtkama koje nemaju zaposlene IT stručnjake.
Since Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows PowerShell has been a part of the core operating system, meaning we will see the next version of PowerShell in Windows 8. In this session we will look at what`s new in Windows PowerShell 3.0, based on the Windows Developer Preview released at the BUILD conference in September. Microservices @ Work - A Practice Report of Developing MicroservicesQAware GmbH
Cloud Native Night October 2016, Mainz: Talk by Simon Bäumler (Technical Chief Designer at QAware).
Join our Meetup: www.meetup.com/cloud-native-night
Abstract: This talk takes a practice oriented approach to examine microservice oriented architecture. It will show two real systems, one build from scratch in a microservice architecture, the other migrated from a monolithic system to a microservice architecture.
With the example of these two systems the pittfalls, advantages and lessons learned using microservice oriented architectures will be discussed.
While both systems use the java stack, including spring boot and spring cloud many topics will be kept general and will be of interest for all developers.
In this presentation I will show you what is needed to build your own Cloud Adapter using the Cloud Adapter SDK. The architecture of the adapter framework will be explained and also the required steps to allow others to use your adapter from the Oracle Marketplace will be shown. The custom adapter which has been created as a sample implementation is a Z-Wave-Adapter which can be used to allow easy integration with devices using the Z-Wave protocol (such as sensors which can be used for home automation). The usage of the adapter in real life will also be demonstrated.
It is not that hard to build your own Cloud Adapter! You can enable a citizen developer to do their own integrations using ICS and also use the same adapter when developing on premise SOA solutions. Oracle enables you to sell your product in the Marketplace, further increasing your return of investment. I will show you the different designtime and runtime components which need to be implemented, how JDeveloper extension development works and how you can test your adapter on ICS locally using the ICS execution agent. I will share common pitfalls when starting adapter development to help you get a headstart when you are considering creating your own. This presentation will help developers and architects understand Cloud Adapters and when you should consider creating one yourself!

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).
