The savanna biome has a wet-dry climate with distinct rainy and dry seasons. During the dry season, plants die and rivers dry up, forcing many animals to migrate. In the wet season, plants flourish again and animals return. Savannas are grasslands with few trees due to strong seasonal drought. They cover one-fifth of the Earth's surface and mainly have two seasons - dry and rainy. Lions are typically the main predators in the savanna, preying on both large and small animals.
