4. Introduction
Manipur is a state in northeastern India, having Imphal as its capital city; Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru dubbed her the "Jewel of India." It is an ellipse-shaped valley
completely surrounded by nine ranges of bluish-green hills and rivers. This state's
tourism is centered around wildlife, natural beauty, colourful festivals, distinctive
flora and fauna, and so forth. Furthermore, the state is well-known for its rich
heritage, artwork, culture, and sports. This state has a lot of potential in the tourist
industry.

The general public and masses are still unaware of the bright and
promising prospects of tourism, anthropologists are the finest
interpreters who can explain and make people aware of how
much the tourist sector would change their lives for the better.
According to secondary data acquired from the tourism
department on the basis of local and international tourist traffic
from 2000 to 2019, the number of tourists has risen significantly.
Although there is a drop in numbers from, what was anticipated
in 2003 by Ministry of Tourism, GOI.
Manipur tourism would provide economic, social, and political
development to the state, ultimately helping to alleviate the
state's unemployment problem if the Manipur Government
prioritizes the Tourism Department.
