Signs and Symptoms of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) What is actually the Body
dysmorphic disorder meant for? You may not be familiar with this term. Then let s have a quick
view over it. The term Body dysmorphic disorder refers to a specific type of mental illness
which involves belief that the appearance of a specific person is unusually defective in reality,
the perceived flaw might be non existent or if it exists then it is totally negligible, unnoticeable or
its significance is highly over exaggerated. This disease is also known as dysmorphic syndrome or
body dysmorphia. Sometime the thoughts of negative body images is intrusive for some people
who are acutely affected by this disorder though how many times the thought will be come is...

Compass Placement Test
Four years ago, I was happily decided to go Moraine Valley College to take Compass placement

test, unfortinally I didn t get the results that I was expecting to have, so then my parents decide to
find certain plans for me to get better education. It was really frustrating for my parents to get me

Standardized Testing Controversy
Standardized testing is used throughout every grade in school today. There is a lot of
controversy surrounding the use of standardized testing to access students progress. Many
teachers feel that they must teach to the test and parents feel that their child is spending too
much time testing and not enough time learning. According to a new study, preschools spend an
average of 4.8 hours, third graders spend an average of 20.6 hours, eighth graders spend an
average of 25.3 hours, and eleventh graders spend an average of 22.5 hours on testing (Layton,
2015). Although, some parents, teachers, and schools feel that standardized testing have a
purpose and show the growth of their schools and classrooms, many parents and teachers are
fighting to have standardized test limited or removed from schools, because they feel that
standardized testing are becoming harmful to students. 1)How do you calculate mean, median,
mode, and standard deviation? Mean is the average of a group of scores (Woolfolk, 2014). Mean
and average are used interchangeably. To find the mean, a teacher will add all of the scores
together and divided by the number of tests. For example, a teacher wants to find the mean of
the spelling test, the spelling test scores are as the following, 10, 8, 7, 8, 10, 10, 6, 5, 7, and 5.
The first step is to add all of the scores together (76). The second step is to divided by the number
of tests (10), the quotient is the mean (7.6). The first math equation is
10+8+7+8+10+10+6+5+7+5=76. The second math equation is 76/10=7.6. The mean of the... Show

Physicalism In Jackson s Knowledge Argument
I assert that Jackson successfully argues against physicalism, the entire world is completely
physical, through his Knowledge Argument which declares that there is knowledge about the
mind and consciousness that you cannot understand from only the physical properties and facts
of the world. In Jackson s example in the Knowledge Argument, Mary learns everything there is
to know about all the physical properties involved in color, color perception and what happens in
a brain when a person witnesses anything that is red. She has learned all this information from
only looking at shades of black, white and grey and has never witnessed red. The question the
Knowledge Argument is trying to ask is whether Mary truly has all the knowledge on color vision
and the clear answer is no because Mary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This premise relies on the idea that all the knowledge the Mary gained through the experiment is
only factual knowledge about a certain field of study. This is the weak link in the Knowledge
Argument because someone can argue that some knowledge is not knowledge of facts which is
what Mary is missing from the experiment. People can argue that Mary is missing procedural
knowledge with is the knowledge that would make her able to do something like being able to
recognize colors. If Mary is shown the color red, how would she know that its the color red if
she was never taught how to recognize colors. Another example is if someone showed Mary a
different color but told her it was red, how would Mary be able to tell the difference or know that
this person is lying. The problem with premise one in the Knowledge Argument is that Mary may
know all the factual information behind color vision but that doesn t guarantee that she will have
the ability to tell the difference between colors if they are shown to

How My Irish Culture Has Affected My Culture
Beep! Beep! I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock and the smell of an Irish recipe my mom
makes me every Sunday morning. She makes homemade croissants, eggs, and bacon. Sometimes
my mom makes a homemade Ireland cinnamon and sugar bread. Ireland affects my daily life in
many ways. My culture is reflected through the foods we eat, the sports we play , and holidays we
celebrate. Food has a big impact on my culture.
Food has a big impact on my family we try to have an Irish dish every Sunday for lunch, dinner and
breakfast. We eat a meat and potato with every meal. Irish people try to have a meat and potato in

My Professional Development Plan Is Directed Towards...
My personal professional development plan is directed towards helping me become a better
teacher to help students learn and reach their full potential. The skills I am working on to be a
better teacher include, better time management, communication, and having a stronger teacher
voice. I plan to work on these goals throughout my time at York College of Pennsylvania and
achieve them by the time I have completed my student teaching, which will be in three years. If I
feel a goal has been achieved before I complete my student teaching, I plan to add a new goal,
while still focusing on my previous goals to make them even stronger qualities.
My first skill is to have better time management. As of now, I feel I do have strong time
management when dealing with arriving early and planning my day out efficiently. I do have
trouble with staying in the projected time frame during lessons. For example, if I have thirty
minutes to teach a lesson, I may take thirty five to forty minutes. Typically, this is due to
introduction of my lesson. I believe students need to grasp the concept in the beginning of the
lesson to be able to build off of the information and complete activities on their own without the help
of other students or myself.
Like I said, as of now, I do have fair time management skills, but they certainly need improvement.
My goal is to be able to plan lessons and keep them in the projected time frame; this includes being
within 2 minutes under or over.

Liquid Water On Mars Research Paper
The presence of water on Mars is highly related to the atmosphere conditions. Today, the Martian
atmosphere consists primarily of CO2 (95%). In addition, the pressure is about 6 millibars at the
Martian surface. The temperature is about 220 В°K average ( 53 В°C) at the Martian equator.
Accordingly, water is present in solid or vapor phases on Mars. Therefore, most of the potential
sources of water on Mars are not in liquid phase. [5]
To begin with, according to Russian scientists, the water vapor in the Martian atmosphere reaches
its highest content during summer. In the northern region the content of water vapor is 60 70
microns of released water, and 20 microns in the southern region. [6]
The liquid phase formation is inhibited due to the low temperature and pressure. However, there
are a few places where liquid water could exist. Recently, NASA had announced the strongest
evidence that liquid water is flowing on the Martian surface. Researchers found hydrated salts on
slopes where streaks were observed. The presence of these streaks and hydrated salts indicate that
water is present. [7]
Moreover, according to researchers, there are some expectations of liquid water in certain places,
yet not approved. Water in liquid form could exist on the surface as ... Show more content on

It is very difficult for the humanity to depend on one source of water, but there are other
different forms where water can be extracted and processed. The best sources of water on Mars
is where the poles are located, a big reserve of water, yet the conditions for living there are harsh
due to low temperatures, implying more energy consumption. Therefore, the Mars team decided to
build a habitat on the near equatorial region, called Arabia Terra. According to the Odyssey, a

Government is a part of the seven indicators. Government helped Ancient Egypt be well organized.
The government had government officials and workers that worked there. Some jobs of the

minister of public buildings. The most important jobs were the pharaoh, the vizier, and the

There were two different kingdoms Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. They operated like two
different countries. They had their own religions and ways of doing things. One day they united
together. After that had happened, Egypt became more organized. They developed a system
named hierarchy. Hierarchy was a class system and each Egyptian was in the system. They had
specific rights and were each in a class. There were seven classes the priests, the warriors, the
cowherds, the swineherds, the shopkeepers, the interpreters, and the boatmen. The names were
given to them from the occupations they followed. Also, in Egypt, there weren t as many slaves as
other countries. Slaves were left out. The king called them tools that speak .
There was a large selection of jobs for the Egyptians. The jobs included carpenters, craftsmen,
potters, bead makers, stonemasons, sculptors, brickmakers, the mistress of the house, and
merchants. Carpenters had to build many objects such as roof beams, furniture, or statues. They
used tools such as saws, axes, chisels, adzes, wooden mallets, stone polishers, and bow drills.
Craftsmen had to create protective amulets, tomb paintings, magical enchantments on papyrus,
funeral jars, painted pottery, pottery figures, painted scenes, cartouches, hieroglyphics, ivory grave

Hip Hop Vs Hip Hop
The history of Hip Hop and Rap started in the 1970`s in the Bronx of New York City. Rap shares
its roots with other forms of traditionally African American music, such as jazz, blues, and soul.
Rap may also be closely linked to reggae music, a genre that also developed from the combination
of traditional African drumming. The development of rap and reggae has been an intertwined
path of two different styles, which have grown from and have thrived, in similar circumstances.
Finally, just as reggae has been under attack for some artists seeming advocacy of violence to
solve social, political, and economic problems, rap has become the victim of the American musical
fabric, as it, too, has faced mass popularity and commercialisation. Not only has Hip Hop had a
major influence on society throughout the years, music as a whole has had impact on the world
today and society within it. Music has been a powerful technique for stimulating social awareness
throughout American history. Music simultaneously reflects trends, ideals, conditions in society,
and encourages attitudinal progression and social change. To this end, Hip Hop in the United
States can be perceived as a blend of reality and fiction insomuch that rap music is a contemporary
response to conditions of joblessness, poverty, and disempowerment... it is a rebellion against white
America s economic and psychological terrorism against Black people 1.The increasing popularity

Social Differences Between The North And South Dbq Essay
There were many social differences between the North and the South. Southerners were usually
rural farmers who took pride in serving their country in the military. The Northerners were urban

because they depended on tobacco which then changed to cotton for most of their income. Their

International Trade, Globalization And Market Entry
Explain the concept of International trade, Globalization and market entry.
International trade happens when countries trade goods and services, these kinds of trade gives
countries the opportunities to showcase their country and be exposed to other goods and services
that are not available in their own country. (Heakal 2017) The Caribbean have been in trade

the vaccine itself it is key to understand what Influenza is. The flu is a virus. Viruses are parasite
which cause the infection and spread of diseases such as smallpox, chicken pox or in this case

themselves to a cell of the body and eventually with all the other cells leading to inevitable

Vaccines contains a variety of ingredients that people could be allergic to. This excludes a whole
group of people from getting the vaccine. Some of this ingredients are aluminium salts, sugars, egg
protein, formaldehyde and Neomycin9. Also after the vaccination there is the possibilities of
receiving some sides effects such as high fever, which happens in about 70%11 of children, eye
infection, infections in general, which happen in about 1 person per 667,00011 and usually the
person has a weaker immunitary system. In extreme cases it may lead to death (ВЅ per million)11.
The positive side of vaccines, though, can t be replaced. It saves people from otherwise deadly
illnesses such as smallpox and tuberculosis10. When most of a community is immunised against
a disease it creates this effect called immunity herd 12 which helps protect the group of people
which for any reason can t be subjected to vaccines. This poeple are, for example, elderly, young
kids which can t be vaccinated and people in hospitals13. groupd are people such as . The

Target entries covering 830 recognized and putative potential drug targets with information of their

identification of an enzymatic target for pathogenic strain of Helicobacter pylori from the natural
product N trans caffeoyltyramine. Further testing in bioassay revealed that this compound and its
derivatives have potent inhibitory action on the enzyme with IC50 values of 10.8 and 1.25 M,
respectively [191]. Another inverse docking approach developed by Greenpharma, namely reverse

used for screening [192]. This method utilizes an in house database of ethno pharmacological data
for screening targets and associated diseases from individual compounds. Another alternative,
strategy utilized in identification of targets for phytochemical involves the screening of query
compounds against pharmacophore models of PDB ligands . This strategy is much faster than
molecular docking in filtering out compounds that are not direct mimics of the ligands from which
the pharmacophore model is generated . This method has been used first time for target fishing for

Professionalism means different things to different people as suggest by Fox (1992, p. 2).

This has led to challenges in the workforce whereby the views of practitioners, and their ability to
behave professional have contradicted each other. For example some practitioners view their
qualifications and training as most important, whereby other practitioners may disagree with this

such as team work, and creating a positive environment. Being a professional working with young
children according to the samples of EYEs, in my research is not just about having qualifications,

Essay About Fiestas
Fiestas are best in the Philippines because people has the sense unity and it reflects their beliefs.
Filipinos love fiestas. Here in our country, Philippines, we can witness different festivals in each
and every corner of our region. However, even Fiestas look as if our own, these have originally
come from Spaniards. When Spanish missionaries entered the Philippines during the mid 1500s,
they found that the fiesta was a convenient tool to help teach Filipinos the Roman Catholic faith.
That is why, in the Philippines and many other former Spanish colonies, the Spanish word fiesta is
used to denote a communal religious feast to honor a patron saint (Wikipedia, n.d). The Philippines

The New Age Day Of The Wild
The new age day of the wild, became the wilder, and now it has become the wildest of the west.
Texas lawmakers have in recent years propagated the statewide concept among their constituents
here in Texas that open carry under the 2nd amendment has a plausibility toward ameliorating the
typology of violence each community has been inundated by. It has brought trepidation into
people of walking down a street and getting shot at. The question is? Did the state lawmakers did
not cogitate on the consequences of this bill before they determined it to be a safety net, or was it
merely an act of provocation of asking for unwarranted trouble by the open carrylaw? This decision
is also racially biased, and only continues to foment the unabating praetorian behaviour of police
toward minorities along with women. By the harassment of unjustified stops, the iniquitous line of
illicit questions is directed toward minorities, and women alike. However without the attitude that
predisposes minorities, and women alike to react irrationally when confronted by the law just
because they are carrying a weapon. This bill has a double entendre of what open carry really is.

Comparative Analysis of Cultural Ideologies in Norway and the United States
The intent of this paper is to examine individualistic and communitarian cultural ideologies within
two distinctly different political environments. The first challenge in comparing two nations is
deciding which approach is most appropriate. There are several approaches in political science that
have proven most beneficial when making comparisons. This study will use a comparative
government approach to examine the political institutions, processes, constitutions, and functions of
government within each of the two countries selected. The countries that have been chosen for this
study are United States and Norway, respectively. Gregory Scott believes ... Show more content on

The problem is that our individual actions, each perfectly consistent with our individual
preferences, can and often do combine to produce collective outcomes that none of us would have
chosen (Bickers, 11). And thus lead to the need for protection against those outcomes, administered
through a democratic government.
There are several authors that are noted for their dynamic research on the communitarian
movement. The spokesperson for the contemporary communitarian movement is Amitai Etzioni.
He explains that communitarians believe that the fundamental and central political problem is
finding the right amount of togetherness and common concern. He continues, if people are to
individualistic, they fail to support each other s efforts and to respect each other s needs. If people
are too unified, they become authoritarian and attempt to use the state to impose a common set of
beliefs and practices.
Like ancient philosophers, communitarians find the lack of unified purpose and direction in
society to be a crucial problem. Those who speak of the joys of not associating with others, but of
being left alone by them, are most closely associated with individualism. And their noteworthy
spokesperson is author and abolitionist Henry David Thoreau. This early author, observing the
pressures, expectations, and demands made upon us by the societies in which we live, concluded
that the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation (Scott, 51). The

Dogmatic Ideologies In The Crucible By Arthur Miller
When contemplating past societies, a subconscious critical lens is often enacted exposing the
fallaciousness of their respective ideologies. The Crucible by Arthur Miller serves to provide
perspective into the consequences of being confined to an ideology in a dogmatic fashion, and the
fear it may inspire. The theatre piece is set during the Salem Witch Trials in late 17th century and
follows the vulnerable townspeople as a syndicate of naive girls abuse the communities position as
puritans to endow accusations of witchcraft. A consistent allegory between the piece and
McCarthyist America, tied with context and literary techniques enables a warning against dogmatic
beliefs in ideologies and the fear that can result from the unknown.
The creation of an allegory connecting the Salem Witch Trials with McCarthyist America, and
context, primarily historical, alerts viewers of the precaution that must be held in relation to
dogmatic ideologies. In order to fully comprehend the allegorical extracts the historical context must
first be understood. At the time of publication, 1953, the Cold War was in occurrence. The Cold
War was essentially a war of two antithetical ideologies, capitalism (in America) and communism
(in the USSR). In 1949 the USSR exploded their first nuclear weapon and not long after in 1953,
activated their first hydrogen bomb. Due to this Americans became paranoid of the communist
threat and emanated into capitalist ideologies becoming unquestionable; over

The Retrospective Analysis Of Quality Improvement...
The article, I chose is The Retrospective Analysis of Quality Improvement Throughput Measures at

emergency departments; which has caused patients to leave without being seen (LWBS) by a
physician or PA and the measurements taken to solve the problem. Two major and other minor
changes were implemented to improve the situation. In this paper, I will be addressing the problem
of crowding, the strategic plan taken and how the implementations were evaluated in the effort to
improve quality care and the outcomes. The emergency department (ED) is one of the busiest place
in most hospitaland time is very crucial in some case. A survey done in 2002, shows that 90% of
Level 1 trauma center and hospital are considered over capacity with more than 300 beds and 62
% of ED considered themselves the same (Milsten, A., Klein, J., Liu, Q., Vibhakar, N., Linder, L.,

have more weight than the positive. As the number of population increases, the ED started to
notice a correlation with the increasing crowd, which has created a delay in treatment and even
some patient had to leave without being seen (LWBS) by a physician or PA. Patients being unable
to see a healthcare professional in the appropriate time and LWBS have been linked to the increase

Out Of The Depth Summary
Out of the Depths is a very interesting narrative book about retired Marine Edgar Harrell
surviving the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in 1945. Harrell grew up on a farm in Kentucky,
as a little boy he listened to the radio about the Naval Wars and Marines losing their lives, so he
decided he wanted to help. When Harrell became 18, he registered for the draft right away. The
massive cruiser, the USS Indianapolis, became his life and, more importantl, became his home.
He lived on this ship serving and fighting for his country. He remembers very precisely about the
one time he saw a Japanese Kamikaze plane hit the ship in the battle for Okinawa. He survived
the attack, but nine of his friends tragically lost their lives. The ship had to return to the states as
needed for repairs, because the Indianapolis had important components for the atomic bombs to
drop on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. While there, he noticed that the captain said that their next
assignment was to head for the Philippines to invade Japan. Harrell stated to the captain that it
was necessary to have an escort through the seas to that area as the US has already lost 129
soldiers due to Japanese attacks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The torpedoes hit the ship in less than fifteen minutes causing the ship to sink. Harrell with no
hesitation immediately started to find his way out as rushing waters flooded the ship. The only
thing he could think of as he was struggling to escape from the deadly waters was his mom, dad,
6 brothers, two sisters, and his girlfriend that said she would wait for him to come home. Harrell
thinking of this recalled to himself, I want to live, I don t want to die . He says that millions of
things were going through his brain. Him and 900 to 1,200 men who survived the attack were

1.What does the film show us about expectations that shaped women s lives in sixteenth century
Venice?
Women were expected to be obedient to their families and husbands once they were married.
Desires, wants, and dreams were beyond her control and instead she was expected to remain faithful
to the church, state, and family. This is shown when Marco attempts to get to know his wife better
only to learn that she isn t interested in anything besides making him happy. Women were
expected to have manners and to be well behaved but did not possess the knowledge to carry on a
conversation in the way the courtesans could. Courtesans in comparison, were able to gain the

men of Venice found it amusing to see a womanwith the many talents that Veronica had like
poetry and the ability to sword fight. Her status as courtesan allowed her to enter literary and
political circles unavailable to even the most connected and powerful ladies. By making
connections with the elites in Venice, Veronica was able to attend exclusive events which afforded
her the opportunity to express her poetry through public speech and by battling poetic
contemporaries. This is important because she could further her own influence while showcasing
her ability to compete with men in literary and political circles. These skills afforded Veronica the
opportunity to entertain the infamously homosexual, King Henri III of France in his private

History Of The Council Of Nicea
The Council of Nicea was held during the winter of 324 325 (Bingham 46). The main concern of
this council was the relationship between God the Father and God the Son, as well as the essence
of the Son (Bingham 47). It aimed to create a counter argument against the Arians in an attempt to
end the relationship dispute, defend the trinity, and bring unity to the church. This council
condemned Arius and produced an anti Arian creed, the Creed of Nicea , but this council did not
end disputes (Lane 29). The creation of a creed, the Creed of Nicea, did have a significant impact,
however. A creed, meaning I believe in Latin, can be used in many ways including a public

In this creed, Jesus Christ the Son was affirmed to be both fully God and fully man (Lane 41) and
united equally with God. During 451, the Council of Chalcedon was held (Bingham 51). Here, the
church leaders
reaffirmed their acceptance of the Nicene Creed as it then existed and made analytical distinctions
regarding the nature of Jesus Christ concerning the human and divine (Kerr 75).
[The] Chalcedonian Creed emphasizes the oneness of Christ s person and the distinction of his full
two natures, divine and human, in unity with each other (Bingham 54).This they referred to as the
Symbol of Chalcedon, and while it did not become popular due to its complexity, it did help
describe limits made in the church. This Chalcedonian definition was brought on by
Arianism, Apollinarianism, Nestorianism, and Eutycheanism (Kerr 75). Combined, these councils
defended against the controversial teachings and beliefs of
Arianism, which denied the full deity of Christ; Apollinarianism, which denied the full humanity of
Christ; Nestorianism, which denied the union of the two natures;

World With The Advanced Technology
In a world with the advanced technology, groundbreaking medical procedures, fine dining, and
luxury that this modern reality has to offer, it is often difficult to understand the extreme poverty
and suffering experienced by many people outside our borders. While it is widely agreed that
something should be done to help impoverished countries, how to go about that task is not entirely
clear. The consensus of the self described developmentcommunity (Easterly, 2013) in modern
economic developmentadvocates large scale central planning by experts for development to be
applied to a location. This approach often supports the leadership of benevolent autocrats to put
these plans into action. William Easterly, on the other hand, uses The Tyranny of Experts to present
an alternative view based on four main arguments: (1) the Blank Slate versus learning from history,
(2) nations versus individuals, (3) conscious direction versus spontaneous solutions, and, above all,
(4) authoritarian versus free development (Bradley, 2016). This alternate plan of development from
the ground up is a more effective and natural way of helping raise underdeveloped countries to the
standards of richer nations.
Part three of Easterly s book is dedicated to the idea of learning from history. Many development
experts feel that the best way to plan the future of a nation is to assess its current situation of
production, consumption, available resources, etc. and then plan from there. This may

Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne and Red face many challenges within themselves.
These two men have been incarcerated for almost half of their lives. They ve become so
adjusted to prison life that they question whether or not they would know how to survive

much stronger than Red s. There are many similarities as well as differences between the book
and film. Both the book and film are based upon hope and freedom. Freedom is such a vital
theme in both the book and film because it reflects how desperately Andy was willing to
sacrifice the bit of freedom he had left. It also reflects on Andy s time spent at Shawshank and
how he managed to overcome the feeling of imprisonment. Andy wants freedom more than Red.

audience. Newton Minow, the Federal Communications Chairman (FCC) from 1961 to 1963,
argued for a better quality of television in his Address to the Broadcasting Industry to over 2,000
members of the National Association of Broadcasters. As a result, it generated a national debate

Some people may argue a book is less entertaining and interesting than a television show in the
1960 s. However, the television shows broadcasted are solely focused to entertaining the general
audience after work, chores, or school by employing monotonous programming. If a person who
solely watches television for an entire day, they evidently become tedious. Also, the television
shows lack diverse plots, themes, characters, originality, and other aspects unlike a book or a
newspaper. Therefore, numerous television companies decided to display new content such as
news shows, movies, drama series, horror shows, documentaries, music shows, and shows based
on true stories. An example is HBO s Band of Brothers, a miniseries about the story of a company
of soldiers in WWII from their initial training to the end of the war. During the war, the soldiers
experience D Day, participate in numerous battles, liberate a Nazi concentration camp, and enter
Hitler s mountain retreat located in Berchtesgaden, Germany. This tale of comradeship displays
how ordinary, American men accomplished the extraordinary and end a gruesome and unjustified
war. As a result from Newton s proposal for better television programming, numerous shows and
series like Band of Brothers offer an entertaining, unique, and worthy alternative to other forms of
communication.
Another reason Minow argues for better television

The Importance Of Western Classical Singing
Introduction
Western classical singing is aim at producing a good quality, clear, natural, relax, and overall loud
enough sound in singing. Vibrato is an important technique in good western classical and operatic
singing. The pitch of the notes quickly changing up and down makes vibrato. It is one of the
important means of musical performance. Like violin, Chinese erhu and other string instruments
playing with rubbing strings. Italian vocal school more likely to say: the key point to tell is it a

The conclusions of the research
Researchers estimated that open throat strategy would create discernable contrasts in vocal quality
and this was affirmed by the perceptual investigation. Audiences were solid in their judgements and
reliably distinguished the strategy in rehashed tests. Singers vocal quality created discernable sound
quality contrasts in 85.3% of optimal and 80.0% of sub optimal tests, which audiences credited to
the educational guideline of open throat . This investigation affirmed teachers acknowledgment of a
central system in established singing beforehand characterised by master educators by a particular
sound quality. Facilitate investigation of the perceptual characteristics of this strategy is the subject
of progressing research by these authors.
Educational and perceptual investigations concur that substandard vibrato is easy to recognise and
shows deficient strategy or poor vocal quality. Regardless of whether decreased vibrato degree and
postponed vibrato beginning are outcomes of diminished open throat system particularly, or the
essential elements saw as open throat or without a doubt any procedure utilised as a part of good
singing needs promote examination. Vibrato alone does not really convey the acoustic signals of
vocal quality to audiences, yet perceptually, in this investigation, the best quality was related with
open throat method.

The Philosophical View Of Mathematics
Many philosophers use pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths as a basis for their
philosophical claims. Saying that beliefs and concepts are possible because of mathematics is
possible due to the unchanging nature of the subject. Mathematics is known to be an absolute truth
that is not doubted, allowing it act as a fixed truthfor new ideas. However, what would life and
philosophy be like if we did not have a basis of pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths to rely
on?
Descartes based almost all of his claims on the fact that mathematics, was what he called the most
certain truth (Descartes). Without that basis of mathematics, many of his claims of what does and
does not exist would have no meaning. Descartes claims that because mathematics exists as
something clear and certain, it must be possible for other things to exist in this same manner. He
uses this argument to defend more conceptual and philosophical beliefs like his belief in God.
Descartes says I no less find the idea of a God in my consciousness, that is the idea of a being
supremely perfect, than that of any figure or number (Descartes). When analyzing this quote,
Descartes is saying that he finds the idea of God just as plausible as that of the reliable figures and
numbers that are present in mathematics. However, if mathematics wasn t plausible, would that
mean that God is henceforth implausible by association? This seemingly necessary association is
shown more clearly when Descartes

understood what was happening. In fact, it was very unlikely that they did. In Document D, Fan
Cao discusses her overwhelming ignorance of the matter at hand when she wrote, In fact, we [the
Red Guard] did not even understand what revolution was and how other people in the world really
lived... Cao s quote provides evidence that the vast majority of the Red Guard did not fully
comprehend the severity of the issue of the Cultural Revolution, leading them to offer support for a
cause they do not fully understand. The argument that the teenagers understood and fully agreed
with Mao s cause is extremely unrealistic, as in all likelihood, the youth were unaware of the actual

A Colored Man Drinking From A Water Fountain
Imagine living in a world where the color of your skin mattered. The photograph I chose to
analyze is one that struck me hard due to the harsh reality of our country s past. This popular
photograph often seen in textbooks is a result of segregation in American history. Captivating is
one word I would use to describe the photo of a colored man drinking from a water fountain. The
photograph is in black and white and helps magnify the importance this photo has today. We can
look at this photograph from our past and for many years to come, try to answer the many questions
of why segregation existed. The gross injustice in treating others of different races poorly will
forever haunt American history and leave white Americans feeling humiliated.
This time in our history is incredibly important to understand. For a great amount of our nation s
history, our people have not lived as equals. It was a foundation in our creation that enslavement
and a hierarchy would be created. Because of our ancestors, white was deemed as the supreme race
and all other races would be subordinate. It started with the enslavement and removal of the Native
Americans who lived in this country long before the English, French and Spanish arrived. Then,
following the example set forth by the Spanish in Latin America, the English began importing
African slaves. The goal in this being for them to do the manual labor that was so important for the
development of the United States. However, with

Demographic Transition Research Paper
Demographic and Environmental Transition
Demographic transition involves the changes a less industrialized country undergoes regarding
birth rates and death rates from being an industrialized country. The change implies the reduction of
birth and mortality rates from a less industrialized country into an industrialized country with
reduced birth and death rates. Several countries, especially the European countries, exemplify this
mode of transition in their historical information. Besides, the changes involved in demographic
transition filters down to the environment in the long run. The surrounding environment suffers
from the expanded industrialization and due to the demographic transition (Smout, 2009).

Pollution continued to remain a menace in England during this period. The rise in pollution by the
increased number of industries led to the establishment of Environmental Control Policies. These
policies intended to control the level of pollution activities in England.
Stage 5 1991 present The modern industrialization period stands out as a more modern and
scientific period as compared to the previous years. The level of technology applied in the modern
industries in England continues to rise day by day. Presently, more established companies exist in
England, all specializing in different levels of products.
The patterns of death and birth rates continue to decline due to the invention of better scientific
preventive and control mechanisms. However, the population level depicts a steady rise regarding
the number and distribution. England embodies several visions and policy statements which aim at
controlling the population levels by the year 2030. The goals seek to achieve a more balanced

Internal Revenue Service Pros And Cons
The Internal Revenue Service, more commonly known as the IRS and most commonly known as
the least favored federal agency, was first established during the years of the Civil War to collect
taxes levied to support the war effort in the North. During this time, the revenue bureau was meant
to be temporary and the taxexpired in 1872. However, the Commissioner of Internal Revenue and its
successor continued past the expiration date and stayed in effect up to present day in America. The
national income taxin place today was not always a part of the American taxing system, with the
exception of 1894. Congress passed a national income tax, but it was ruled unconstitutional in 1895

The audit has been dragged out for over nearly a decade regarding Microsoft s overseas
subsidiaries, and an investigation was being conducted in regards to whether the Redmond
company improperly moved software code worth billions of dollars offshore in a way that
illegally evaded its U.S. tax bill. Under current law, corporate profits earned overseas and left
overseas are not subject to taxation in America. The IRS spent years requesting documents and
interviews with Microsoft employees regarding the investigation. In December of 2014, the IRS
sued Microsoft in order to force them to turnover documents and information that the IRS
claimed the company failed to provide in the investigation. Microsoft s position in regards to the
IRS is that they abused their federal power when they hired an outside law firm to aide them in
auditing Microsoft. In 2014, the IRS decided to hire an outside law firm to discuss the case
against Microsoft. The problem was that the law firm, Quinn Emanuel, had little experience
handling taxpayer data, and in order for the firm to perform the audit, it needed the classified,
secret tax documents that was provided by the IRS. However, according to current U.S. law, only
employees of the IRS are authorized to view those files. In light of this, Microsoft asked that the
information requested by the IRS should be thrown out

The Mexican Cartel On A Global Scale
The Mexican Cartel on a Global scale
The Mexican drug cartel is a major actor on the world scene. Even though it is not seen this way
by the general public, those who pay attention know how far their reach is. The Mexican cartel
has expanded. There seems to be no sign of them slowing. They have the perfect storm of money,
military backing, political connections and Public intimidation. Their empire is growing by the
minute. Unfortunately most people have not given these ruthless criminals the attention they
deserve. They have direct impact on people around the world. This paper will explain various
aspects the groups and explain why more light needs to be shed on them To begin, one major point
to start with is there is more than one cartel. Fox news reports that there are somewhere between
sixty and eighty small and medium cartels. Business Insider lists seven major cartels. They go as
follows the Juarez cartel, The knights of Templar, The Gulf, the Tijuana Cartel
, The Beltran Leyva
Organization and the two most notorious the Los Zetas and the Sinaloa Cartel. The Los Zetas are
known for their cruelty. Murder, kidnapping, and torture are routine for them. They often use
these tactics to intimidate the public. The Sinaloa cartel, is known for its money and power. They
have monopolized drug trafficking in Chicago and the leader is so powerful he mysteriously
escaped prison. Each cartel is different however they all have the basic goal to gain monetary
assets. To expand, Los

Evolution of Monopolistic Competitive Market
Evolution of Monopolistic Competitive Market
Brand loyalty, Generic Entry and Price Competition in MP3 Player Market
Introduction
In this paper I will reflect the evolution of the monopolistically competitive market and by doing
so guiding the concept with an insight of the Mp3 player market and its actors. One of the actors
on the Mp3 market is the IPod created by the innovating company Apple. The IPod was realised in
March 2004 and was immediately a success. Easy to manoeuvre and with its attractive and
appealing look it took the profits from other existing firms and became the current market leader.

As firms incur in the short run economic losses, its no longer profitable and exits the market.
Economic loss in the short run
Demand is lower that average cost and the firm is makes an economic loss.
This process continues until each firm s demand curve eventually becomes tangent to the firm s
average cost curve as the graph below describes. The dynamics of Monopolistic competition is
whereby a firm s demand curve continuously shifts leftward as new firms enter the market until in
equilibrium, monopolistically competitive firms no longer make any economic profit.
Long run equilibrium The absence of barriers to entry implies zero economic profit in the long run.
The Mp3 Player Market
An analysis of the Mp3 player market shows it has a small number of large firms sharing some
market share amongst many small firms. The market has two types of music players in the Mp3
market branded Mp3 players such as IPod, which are heavily advertised, and then generic (non
branded) players such as the Sweex MP472. The industry is dominated currently by one market
leader, Apple s IPod with an advantageous market share above 70% according to NPD Group Inc
(2009).
Few have actually managed to rub the leader from its position. Though, this increases the
competitive pressures on the rivals of Apple, which are fighting to win a bigger stake in the
growing market by winning new customers, expanding new regions and taking market shares

Descriptive Essay About Hotel
Today i went to the coolest hotel ever! I couldn t believe what i was seeing, it was amazing!
Everything was made out of glass, but that s not all. Every room had some sort of waterfall,
river, creek, or body of water in it. When I got off the plane all I wanted to do was go inside. The
outside was gorgeous, it was all glass and surrounding the hotelwas the pacific ocean .When you
walk in you see that the floor is made of glass, the walls are made of glass, the ceiling is made of
glass, even the tables and chairs are made of glass. Right beside the front desk is a big waterfall
with beautiful blue water pouring out of it, at the end of the waterfall there is a place where you
can sit down. The concierge leads you up to your room and you have to walk up these beautiful
glass stairs. In my room there was a soft blue rug covering the whole floor but still being able to
see the floor was glass underneath. There was a king size bedand on the opposite wall there was a
fireplace with a tv on the mantle. I turned and noticed there were two other doors in my room, so
I walked into the first door and everything was black.. I turned on the light and there was a huge
waterfall with a swimming pool at the end of it. It looked like the one downstairs but it was a little
bit smaller than that one. I decided i would go into the other room and it was the bathroom. The
floor also had a blue rug but everything in the bathroom was glass and i mean everything. The
toilet was glass, the

Chance The Rapper Breaks Barriers In Mr. Happy
Chance the Rapper Breaks Barriers in Mr. Happy With the recent advent of the deep web (where
it has become possible for anyone with enough pocket change and internet savvy to get their
hands on just about anything illegal or immoral), it should come as no surprise the concept of a
website that offers up assisted suicides to those desperate and world weary enough to pay up. In
Colin Tilley s gloomy fictional short Mr. Happy, Chance the Rapper plays the role of one of
these websites newest customers, and soon finds he signed up for more than he maybe
bargained for. The moment I saw Chicago based Chance the Rapper was the leading man for
this film, I knew Mr. Happy was something I needed to see. Aside from being a fan of his music, I
was also deeply curious about his acting chops: would Chance s undeniable talent as a musician
translate over into the world of short film? The answer... an overwhelming yes so much so that I

particular method of underacting with its glossy eyed delivery and vacuous, nearly inaudible

Essay On Global Competitiveness
Global Competitiveness: Role of Supply chain Management
Business today is in a global environment. This environment forces companies, regardless of
location or primary market base, to consider the rest of the world in their competitive strategy
analysis. Firms cannot isolate themselves from or ignore external factors such as economic trends,
competitive situations or technology innovation in other countries, if some of their competitors are
competing or are located in those countries. Companies are going truly global with Supply chain
Management (SCM). A company can develop a product in the United States, manufacture in India

The ultimate objective of SCM is to achieve a strategic fit between the company s competitive
strategy and supply chain strategy. This strategic fit can be achieved by Understanding the customer
demand, which helps the company to define costs and service requirements and understanding the
supply chain that helps the company to design and manage its supply chain in accordance with the
customer s demand. If any mismatch exists between what the supply chain is capable of doing with
respect to customer demands, the company can either alter the structure of the supply chain design
or alter its strategies.
During the industrial age, companies succeeded by how well they could capture the benefit from
economies of scale and scope technology. The success accrued to companies that could embed the
new technology into physical asset that offered efficient customer service. The emergence of the
retailing era, which stared in the last decades of twentieth century, made obsolete many of the
fundamental assumption of industrial age. The retailing age environment requires new capabilities
in organization for competitive success .the ability of a company to mobilize and exploit physical,
tangible assets enable an organization to develop customer relations and loyalty, introduce

Parenting And Strict Parenting Style
Every single parent around the world has their own parenting style and techniques, but there are
two common base types of parenting anywhere in the world, strict and lenient. Strict parents tend
to be more demanding of their children, while a lenient parent will be more flexible. Which
parenting style is more appropriate for children? I believe there s no right answer to this question. A
lack of strict parentingcan lead children to be more irresponsible or indifferent about life choices
and matters regarding their education. A lenient parent can raise a joyful child, but if leniency is
too consistent it can eventually shape a misbehaved or spoiled child, or in the worst scenario, a
juvenile delinquent. Some folks will argue that either way must be picked to raise a child. I believe
otherwise, there should be a with an equilibrium of both parenting styles regardless of their
ethnicity. Any child could be successful without the deprivation of common joyful activities that
children should experience at their age.
Firstly, some parenting styles will prevent children to enjoy from common childhood activities in
order to solely focus on school and extracurricular activities. They would prohibit children to
have playdates, play computer games, watch TV, etc. These parents will prevent the goods of
childhood, they believe that being completely strict will raise a successful child in the future.
However, I believe children shouldn t be deprived for common childhood activities to satisfy
those qualities. For instance, according to Powell s article where he describes his parenting
style towards his daughter, She goes out to play with the kids in our neighborhood. And she
watches movies. In fact, one of the reasons Abby s English is so good is that she spends time
watching The Lion King and Toy Story. That s more freedom than Chua s kids were allowed,
according to her book. Powell believes that his child can be able to do well in school without the
need of depriving his child from things children do at their age such as watching movies. On the
other hand, Chua s remarked about her daughters that, Well, I can tell them, because I ve done it.
Here are some things my daughters, Sophia and Louisa, were never allowed to

  • 4. Standardized Testing Controversy Standardized testing is used throughout every grade in school today. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of standardized testing to access students progress. Many teachers feel that they must teach to the test and parents feel that their child is spending too much time testing and not enough time learning. According to a new study, preschools spend an average of 4.8 hours, third graders spend an average of 20.6 hours, eighth graders spend an average of 25.3 hours, and eleventh graders spend an average of 22.5 hours on testing (Layton, 2015). Although, some parents, teachers, and schools feel that standardized testing have a purpose and show the growth of their schools and classrooms, many parents and teachers are fighting to have standardized test limited or removed from schools, because they feel that standardized testing are becoming harmful to students. 1)How do you calculate mean, median, mode, and standard deviation? Mean is the average of a group of scores (Woolfolk, 2014). Mean and average are used interchangeably. To find the mean, a teacher will add all of the scores together and divided by the number of tests. For example, a teacher wants to find the mean of the spelling test, the spelling test scores are as the following, 10, 8, 7, 8, 10, 10, 6, 5, 7, and 5. The first step is to add all of the scores together (76). The second step is to divided by the number of tests (10), the quotient is the mean (7.6). The first math equation is 10+8+7+8+10+10+6+5+7+5=76. The second math equation is 76/10=7.6. The mean of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Physicalism In Jackson s Knowledge Argument I assert that Jackson successfully argues against physicalism, the entire world is completely physical, through his Knowledge Argument which declares that there is knowledge about the mind and consciousness that you cannot understand from only the physical properties and facts of the world. In Jackson s example in the Knowledge Argument, Mary learns everything there is to know about all the physical properties involved in color, color perception and what happens in a brain when a person witnesses anything that is red. She has learned all this information from only looking at shades of black, white and grey and has never witnessed red. The question the Knowledge Argument is trying to ask is whether Mary truly has all the knowledge on color vision and the clear answer is no because Mary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This premise relies on the idea that all the knowledge the Mary gained through the experiment is only factual knowledge about a certain field of study. This is the weak link in the Knowledge Argument because someone can argue that some knowledge is not knowledge of facts which is what Mary is missing from the experiment. People can argue that Mary is missing procedural knowledge with is the knowledge that would make her able to do something like being able to recognize colors. If Mary is shown the color red, how would she know that its the color red if she was never taught how to recognize colors. Another example is if someone showed Mary a different color but told her it was red, how would Mary be able to tell the difference or know that this person is lying. The problem with premise one in the Knowledge Argument is that Mary may know all the factual information behind color vision but that doesn t guarantee that she will have the ability to tell the difference between colors if they are shown to ... My personal professional development plan is directed towards helping me become a better teacher to help students learn and reach their full potential. The skills I am working on to be a better teacher include, better time management, communication, and having a stronger teacher voice. I plan to work on these goals throughout my time at York College of Pennsylvania and achieve them by the time I have completed my student teaching, which will be in three years. If I feel a goal has been achieved before I complete my student teaching, I plan to add a new goal, while still focusing on my previous goals to make them even stronger qualities. My first skill is to have better time management. As of now, I feel I do have strong time management when dealing with arriving early and planning my day out efficiently. I do have trouble with staying in the projected time frame during lessons. For example, if I have thirty minutes to teach a lesson, I may take thirty five to forty minutes. Typically, this is due to introduction of my lesson. I believe students need to grasp the concept in the beginning of the lesson to be able to build off of the information and complete activities on their own without the help of other students or myself. Like I said, as of now, I do have fair time management skills, but they certainly need improvement. My goal is to be able to plan lessons and keep them in the projected time frame; this includes being within 2 minutes under or over. There are several ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Liquid Water On Mars Research Paper The presence of water on Mars is highly related to the atmosphere conditions. Today, the Martian atmosphere consists primarily of CO2 (95%). In addition, the pressure is about 6 millibars at the Martian surface. The temperature is about 220 В°K average ( 53 В°C) at the Martian equator. Accordingly, water is present in solid or vapor phases on Mars. Therefore, most of the potential sources of water on Mars are not in liquid phase. [5] To begin with, according to Russian scientists, the water vapor in the Martian atmosphere reaches its highest content during summer. In the northern region the content of water vapor is 60 70 microns of released water, and 20 microns in the southern region. [6] The liquid phase formation is inhibited due to the low temperature and pressure. However, there are a few places where liquid water could exist. Recently, NASA had announced the strongest evidence that liquid water is flowing on the Martian surface. Researchers found hydrated salts on slopes where streaks were observed. The presence of these streaks and hydrated salts indicate that water is present. • 14. Hip Hop Vs Hip Hop The history of Hip Hop and Rap started in the 1970`s in the Bronx of New York City. Rap shares its roots with other forms of traditionally African American music, such as jazz, blues, and soul. Rap may also be closely linked to reggae music, a genre that also developed from the combination of traditional African drumming. The development of rap and reggae has been an intertwined path of two different styles, which have grown from and have thrived, in similar circumstances. Finally, just as reggae has been under attack for some artists seeming advocacy of violence to solve social, political, and economic problems, rap has become the victim of the American musical fabric, as it, too, has faced mass popularity and commercialisation. Not only has Hip Hop had a major influence on society throughout the years, music as a whole has had impact on the world today and society within it. Music has been a powerful technique for stimulating social awareness throughout American history. Music simultaneously reflects trends, ideals, conditions in society, and encourages attitudinal progression and social change. To this end, Hip Hop in the United States can be perceived as a blend of reality and fiction insomuch that rap music is a contemporary response to conditions of joblessness, poverty, and disempowerment... it is a rebellion against white America s economic and psychological terrorism against Black people 1.The increasing popularity of Hip Hop culture throughout the nineties can ... • 40. The Philosophical View Of Mathematics Many philosophers use pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths as a basis for their philosophical claims. Saying that beliefs and concepts are possible because of mathematics is possible due to the unchanging nature of the subject. Mathematics is known to be an absolute truth that is not doubted, allowing it act as a fixed truthfor new ideas. However, what would life and philosophy be like if we did not have a basis of pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths to rely on? Descartes based almost all of his claims on the fact that mathematics, was what he called the most certain truth (Descartes). Without that basis of mathematics, many of his claims of what does and does not exist would have no meaning. Descartes claims that because mathematics exists as something clear and certain, it must be possible for other things to exist in this same manner. He uses this argument to defend more conceptual and philosophical beliefs like his belief in God. Descartes says I no less find the idea of a God in my consciousness, that is the idea of a being supremely perfect, than that of any figure or number (Descartes). When analyzing this quote, Descartes is saying that he finds the idea of God just as plausible as that of the reliable figures and numbers that are present in mathematics. However, if mathematics wasn t plausible, would that mean that God is henceforth implausible by association? This seemingly necessary association is shown more clearly when Descartes ... It was a foundation in our creation that enslavement and a hierarchy would be created. Because of our ancestors, white was deemed as the supreme race and all other races would be subordinate. It started with the enslavement and removal of the Native Americans who lived in this country long before the English, French and Spanish arrived. • 54. Parenting And Strict Parenting Style Every single parent around the world has their own parenting style and techniques, but there are two common base types of parenting anywhere in the world, strict and lenient. Strict parents tend to be more demanding of their children, while a lenient parent will be more flexible. Which parenting style is more appropriate for children? I believe there s no right answer to this question. A lack of strict parentingcan lead children to be more irresponsible or indifferent about life choices and matters regarding their education. A lenient parent can raise a joyful child, but if leniency is too consistent it can eventually shape a misbehaved or spoiled child, or in the worst scenario, a juvenile delinquent. Some folks will argue that either way must be picked to raise a child. I believe otherwise, there should be a with an equilibrium of both parenting styles regardless of their ethnicity. Any child could be successful without the deprivation of common joyful activities that children should experience at their age. Firstly, some parenting styles will prevent children to enjoy from common childhood activities in order to solely focus on school and extracurricular activities. They would prohibit children to have playdates, play computer games, watch TV, etc. These parents will prevent the goods of childhood, they believe that being completely strict will raise a successful child in the future. However, I believe children shouldn t be deprived for common childhood activities to satisfy those qualities. For instance, according to Powell s article where he describes his parenting style towards his daughter, She goes out to play with the kids in our neighborhood. And she watches movies. In fact, one of the reasons Abby s English is so good is that she spends time watching The Lion King and Toy Story. That s more freedom than Chua s kids were allowed, according to her book.
