In this session, we will NOT talk about how much Microsoft loves Linux or how much Azure loves Java. This session will focus on how an application written in Java using tools available for Java environment can survive inside Azure. Together we will take a look on how we can create a similar environment as you have on AWS or on-premises to run your Java applications. We will try to cover topics related to infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, SaaS integration and specific solutions used together with Java applications (e.g. Kafka, Cassandra).
GeoTransport employee transportation solution has been designed with Employee Safety and Security in mind. Security and safety features were built into this Enterprise Software product at the design stage itself, and not as an afterthought.
ROAR Augmented Reality Platform brings opportunities to airports and airlines to engage customers through augmented reality technology. Airlines can offer to their passengers valuable information along with interactive experiences. Airports can facilitate passengers’ lives providing information about airport facilities and shopping areas.

SAP HANA is s a real-time, in-memory database that enables organizations to process “big data” in support of transactional processing, operational reporting, advanced analytics and predictive modeling. With that said, SAP HANA has the potential to be much more than a database. In fact, SAP HANA as platform can serve as an agile, flexible application development framework. This game-changing capability empowers organizations to build advanced applications directly on SAP HANA, leveraging the SAP HANA Extended Application Service (XS).
During this webinar, we will outline how the SAP HANA XS Engine can add value to your business through agile development methods. Additionally, we will demonstrate how SAP HANA Studio is used to develop applications that can both read and write to your SAP HANA instance. The webinar will specifically focus on how SAP HANA XS can provide personalization, page building and navigation. We will detail the benefits and best practices and demonstrate the integrated SAP HANA application layer tools.

Fast, simple, SMART. Mobile devices have forever changed the way we interact with content. Now we have to consider many things such as HiDPI graphics, responsive design, speed, UI/UX patterns, touch target sizes, gestures, and more. All while not losing track of what’s important: Content.
We’re going to discuss the influence of mobile on design trends and learn implementation techniques of smart design such as icon fonts, svg, and other helpful tips.
According to the International Telecommunication Union, at the end of 2011 there were more than 1 billion mobile‐broadband subscriptions worldwide! With more of your library users using mobile devices to access information they will assume that your library can be available from anywhere, at any time, and on most any device. Now is the time to be ready for this demand.
In this webinar:
- Explore some innovative library mobile website designs and see how they were built.
- Understand how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together to build mobile websites.
- Learn what a mobile framework is and why they are used.
- Provide some existing mobile services/apps that can be included in library-created mobile websites.
- Acquire best practices in mobile Web development from start to finish.
If you've been tasked with designing or developing (or both) a cross-platform web application, you may have noted how difficult it is to add animation and interaction to the result.
Designing for interaction is empathy in disguise, and it can can encourage modular, performant code. Let's tackle some of these ideas and apply them to real HTML and JavaScript examples.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
