Crocodiles And Alligators Similarities
Crocodiles and Alligators are often confused with because of the physical similarities. When an
average person encounters a crocodile or alligator, it is most probable that they guess which
animal it is and get it wrong. However, the only thing in common is the body structure. Not all of
the similarities have to do with the similar physical shape of the crocodilesand alligators. In fact, the
similarities go beyond. On the other hand, the differences deal with the most detailed dissimilarities
between the crocodiles and alligators body.
One of many similarities crocodiles and alligators have is that these animals are reptiles.
Crocodiles and alligators belong to the same subfamily so it is likely for them to have the same
physical shape. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, there is a big difference when it comes to a crocodiles and alligators snout. Alligators
have a U shaped snout with a wider head and sharp teeth that hide when the mouth is closed. In
contrast to alligators, a crocodile have a V shaped snout with a thinner head and have a toothy
grin when the mouth is closed. Additionally the alligators upper jaw is more located more
forwards than the crocodiles, this also affects the how the teeth are structured. Although both of
these animals teeth are strong, the crocodiles have a more defined strength because it can
destroy a turtles shell faster than an alligator. Furthermore, crocodiles have lingual glands that
make salt water tolerable. Another major difference is the capacity of length between the two
reptiles. Crocodiles tend to grow 5. 8 meters compared to an 4.3 alligator. Moreover, female
crocodiles lay their eggs in mud or sand whereas the female alligators lay eggs on mounds near
water. Another difference between alligators and crocodiles are the amount of time it takes to take
care of the newborns. Alligators usually stay a few months or 1 year until the babies are strong
enough to fend for themselves unlike crocodiles that stay with the babies 2

Prostitution Is Legal For Human Trafficking
Are you serious? Girls are not just objects, they are human beings just like everyone else. That
disgusts me, are the thoughts I was having when I saw that Thailand has a total of around three
million sex workers in their country, and the number is increasing. Prostitution is legal but human
trafficking is not. How can we make prostitutionlegal and then not expect is to lead to more human
traffickingaround the world. Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual
activity with someone for payment. Usually when you think about prostitution you think about
out of the United States. But, now in the United States 1 out of 50 states have prostitution legal.
Nevada is the only state where prostitution is legal. But it is still going on in other states in the
United States. Prostitution was taken place, usually when a female needs money to support
herself or maybe even her family. But, now parents are starting their kids to be prostitutes at the
age of THIRTEEN! In Thailand, there are around three million people there are sex workers and
around one third are MINORS. Luckily, it is way harder to have minors in the United States then it
would be to have minors out of the country. Being a minor means that you are under the age of 18.
This is called prostitution of children or child prostitution meaning prostitution involving a child. It
is a form of commercial sexual exploitation of children. The term normally refers to prostitution of
a minor, or person under

The Pros And Cons Of Child Labor In Bolivia
Bolivia becomes the first nation in legalise child labour from age of 10 years El Tiempo, The
Independent, The Telegraph, Forebes Despite new initiatives to address child labor, Bolivia is
receiving assessment because it continued to implement a law that delayed advancement in
eliminating the worst forms of child labor. Bolivia s Child and Adolescent Code, passed in 2014,
allows children as young as age 10 to be self employed under certain conditions. Otherwise, the
Government made efforts by incorporating into law the Agreement between the Plurinational State
of Bolivia and the Republic of Argentina to Prevent and Investigate Trafficking in Persons and

the child labour in Bolivia appears as a evil necessity that would be a way of overcoming the
extreme poverty in the country. By means of the work, the children manage to satisfy his needs
and those of his families and even help buying their school supplies. It would be necessary, in
agreement with the Government, to create a legal frame to regulate and to protect these
children who have remained invisible and victims of the exploitation and of the abuse. In
addition, the child labour, would allow to the child to construct a social conscience. Child
labour already exists in Bolivia and it s difficult to fight it. Rather than persecute it, we want to
protect the rights and guarantee the labor security of children, said Senator Adolfo Mendoza,
one of the bill s sponsors. Many poor families in Bolivia have no other choice than for their kids to
work. The bill offers working children safeguards, he also said. To eliminate work for boys and

Nancy Reagan Influence
Nancy Davis Reagan, 40th First Lady of the United States had a monumental impact on the 21st
Century by her prodigious influence on President Reagan s presidency, passion to educate the
youth of our country on drugs, and her advocacy for Alzheimer s and Stem Cell Research. On
domestic policy, Nancy Reagan encouraged compromises on budget policies to preserve some
programs for the poor in return for cuts in other programs that did not target those most in need.

Reagan watched as her husband s disease began to incapacitate him and knew she had to push
harder to find a possible treatment. The search led her to Stem Cell Research. She prayed that
one day someone would find a cure. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who are against
stem cell research. In the early 2000 s, the nation of public funding for Embryonic Stem Cell
research was controversial and divisive, with many Republicans tying the issue to abortion.
(parenthetical citation article STAT article written by Shelia Kaplan 3/6/16). While Mrs.
Reagan was at a Juvenile Diabetes event, she took advantage of the opportunity to speak out
about how science is giving us some hope with stem cell research. Proceeding full steam ahead,
Nancy took influence all the way to the White House. In 2001, she wrote to President George W.
Bush, who opposed harvesting cells from discarded human embryos and her words seemed to
have made a difference. (parenthetical citation article written by Sheila Kaplan 3/6/16). President
Bush changed his mind and did not ban Stem Cell Research funding, but he did put restrictions
on it. Once again a road block presented itself. The federal legislation was trying to block state

How does the author s treatment of relationships effect the characterisation of the heroines in The

There are times when it seems that Helga is unknowingly saying these thoughts out loud, which
only serves to add to her idiosyncrasies.
The relationships formed on their journey, however unconvincing or bizarre some may seem,
shape the novels and define the impressions on the reader. The Bell Jar is an unsettling account of
a young woman s descent into psychosis, where Plath focuses on the individual, whilst exploring
how Esther regards relationships and how they influence her search for her own identity. In a
similar fashion, Helga Crane is on a continuous search for a genuine sense of self, a place she feels
that she belongs. Although perhaps to a lesser extent than Plath, Larsen uses the superficial nature
of Helga s relationships with others as a way of expressing her distance from the rest of society.
There are several fundamental similarities between the two characters that are interesting to note:
they both feel isolated and misunderstood, they both wish to reject the prejudices of society
(whether it be towards women, African Americans, mulattos, or indeed towards anyone that does

Notes On The Bond Bikers
Bikers are strange. They are tough, frightening, and sometimes a little crazy, but coming from a
biker, I can tell you: they are crazy in a completely sane way. The bond bikers share is a strong
one. Bikers are brothers, and it does not take much to create this bond. Strangers can become
friends overnight with the sole commonality of riding. Your background, your history, your
beliefs, none of it matters to them. What truly matters to them is whether or not you ride.
Obviously, I do not mean one of those biker gangs who have terrorized the community; I am
referring to anyone who may ride, it could be Mary Sue, who rides her little scooter to Sunday
pottery class or Big John, who rides The Hog across the country among all of us, for inexplicable
reasons, we share a bond. I realize it seems like I have no idea what I am talking about,
considering how little I match the typical Biker persona as a college freshman. Conversely, I can
assure you: I am a biker. Although the only real qualification to be a biker is motorcycle
ownership, there is an unusual coincidence among bikers a characteristic all bikers share.
Something about riding a bike changes you. Bikers possess a certain maturity unlike anything
else. I do not know if it has to do with confronting your own mortality, or the feeling of freedom
you get when escaping the trivialities of life. It could have something to do with the brotherhood
you get from fellow bikers, or if the experience puts everything else

Salvage The Bones And Up From Slavery
There have been a lot of issues throughout history that concerns African Americans. They had
issues with family, they had their strength and weakness, and they also struggled a lot from back
in the day. Salvage the Bones and Up from Slavery provides examples from all of those themes.
Family is one of the main themes in Salvage the Bones. The story reflects on how family helped
them get through a lot. Up from slavery also tells us about family. It s similar to Salvage the Bones,
but in a different perspective. Everyone would agree that African Americans had to strugglemore
than the white people, and Up from Slavery and Salvage the Bones provide great context of that.
African Americans also had their strength and weakness. African Americans have had their strength
and weakness. Salvage the bones and up from slavery provides great context of this. In Salvage the

connection made from Esch, by narrating I am on him like China (203). As the novel continued, the
female characters grew stronger as their male counterparts grew weaker. This is symbolized in
Skeetah s relationship with China, which often brinks on relationship. Although Esch compares

Evaluation Of A Microcontroller Based Three Phase...
Career Episode 1
Introduction
This career episode is the creation of my thesis during my final year in engineering. The project is
called Microcontroller Based Three Phase Induction Motor Controls . This is a partial fulfillment
for my bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering at Mindanao University of Science and
Technology. This project commenced on June 2011 and ended on March 2012. I was under the
supervision of Engr. Reuel C. Pallugna, one of the instructors in the Electrical Engineering
department.
Background
CE 1.1 My main objective was to create a speed and forward reverse control for an induction
motor that can be programmed and can be accessed using the computer in the cheapest but
efficient way. My project is composed of electrical and electronic components. The brain of the
prototype comes from the program of a microcontroller. Most of the assembly of the electrical
and electronic components and the creation of the program are done in the electrical laboratory.
Economy is an important factor in my study. One of its advantages over the commercially
available variable frequency drive (VFD) is it is more economical and can be programmed based
on the user s preference without sacrificing accuracy and efficiency. CE 1.2 It took me 9 months
to complete my prototype. Every month, my thesis adviser checked and tracked the progress of
my project. I did the research and the creation of my prototype during weekdays and I did the

What Does The Parables Say About The Kingdom Of God
Journal 8
Psalm 103:19 reads, The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules
over all. As highlighted in this verse, the Kingdom of God spans across both earth and heaven and
rules over them with equal authority. Much of what we know about the Kingdom of God comes
from the parables Jesus told during his earthly ministry. On the surface, it may be hard to determine
just what Jesus is saying about the Kingdom of God. By considering the deeper meanings of
parables, however, it is possible to see exactly what the parables reveal about the Kingdom of God
and what hermeneutical implications that has for our lives.
To discover what the parables say about the Kingdom of God, they must first be interpreted. Jesus
himself can be found saying that parables contain mysteries on the inside. Sometimes, however,
finding the deeper meaning for a parable can be tricky. To make the task of interpreting parables
easier, it helps to find out Jesus audience. Jesus did not intend for us to be unable to understand his
parables. Rather, he fully intended for them to shed light on the Kingdom of God, sometimes we
just need to dig a little deeper with an open heart and open eyes.
After interpreting the parables that deal with the Kingdom of God, it is possible to determine
some characteristics of the Kingdom of God. With Jesus arrival, he brought with him the
Kingdom, hence the reason he is explaining it to people via parables. While Jesus already
brought the Kingdom of God, it is also not here yet. God s kingdom reconciliation has begun on
this earth but will not be completed until Jesus comes again to finish it completely. Jesus first
coming was the beginning of the end for the Kingdom of God. Beyond that, Jesus reveals many
other things about the Kingdom of God. For example, from the mustard seed parable, the
Kingdom of God is like the nature of a mustard seed in that it started small but is growing very
large. In addition, Jesus explains the four different responses people have to the Kingdom of God
in the parable of the sower by explaining the outcome of seed planted on four different types of
soil. Some do not understand it, some fall away after troubles, some become unfruitful because of

Critical Comparison of Porphyrias Lover and My Last Dutchess
Critical Comparison of Porphyrias Lover and My Last Dutchess
Both of these poems are based around the concept of power and possesion. They tell the story of
obssesional lovers. The effect of using dramatic monologue to convey this idea is very effective.
The first poem, Porphyrias Lover, was written in the mid ninteenth century, around 1842. It is the
dramatic monologue of the Lover. It is not made known who the recipient of this poem is. I believe
it to be an internal monologue, the Lover is going through in his head the events of the previous
day and night.
The use of only one person speaking gives off the dominance which is important in the
understanding of both poems.
The lover also shows his abnormal character, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After he has done this he believes she blushed bright beneath my burning Kiss. This behavior is
both neurotic and frightening.
Porphyria is seen as being graceful, she glides through the door and also as a very warm person,
by the way she brings warmth into the cottage, When she came in she shut the cold and the storm
out . As the reader reads on we see her seductiveness, she put my arm about her waist and made her
shoulder bare After this has happened the
Lover states his critisisem of her. He says she is too weak and proud and vain. This however tells
more about the character of the
Lover than that of Porphyria, it shows his very high expectations and his dissatisfaction.
We are led to believe the cottage in which they meet is isolated and that it doesn t belong to either
of them. This gives us the sense of secrecy and seclusion which is reflected in their love for each
other.
There also seems to be barriers between where Porphyria has come from and the cottage , like the
storm. This is also true in their relationship, and I think this comparative difference is a very
effective image in putting across the sense of troubles that she encounters because of her
inadequacy.
The poem moves on to be very warm and loving in contrast to this previous image of the storm. Yet
the idea of a hidden uneasiness is shown subtly show through the

Grades And The Esteem, By Randy Moore
Grades and Self Esteem
What is self esteem? Self esteem is confidence in one s own worth or abilities. In Grades Self
Esteem , author Randy Moore (2007) stated that the level of performance of the students decreased
while schools are building the self esteem in the students. Author Alfie Kohn(1994) stated in his
article The Truth about Self Esteem to contradict Moore s opinion that academics and self esteem
are not related. Moore discussed some beneficial points which are useful for the students, but in
some cases his argument was not giving better meaning. I agree from Moore s article that the
American students do not perform as well academically as students from other countries. I do not

Giving tough exams and more reading, and setting high standards to award grades will not allow
the teachers to understand the intellectual depth of the students and increase the value of the
classes. Some people argue that students will perform better if it is difficult to get grades. There
were evidence that harder multiple choice exams will not allow the students to improve
understanding and thinking ability. The harder exams will yield only short term benefit to the
student, but in the long run, tougher grades won t benefit the students. Teachers who are giving
easy grades to the students are worried about the students self esteem and the elevation. Kohn
(2002) stated that many higher education teachers are basically researchers, they are not trained
enough to teach, it is better to analyze the teachers skill and examine their view of teaching in order
to get better performance of the students. This will allow the students to get benefit without facing a
hard grading system.
Moore (2007) stated that nowadays teachers are offering only A or B grades to the students.
According to Moore (2007) in 1966, teachers gave C s as A s and by 1978, compared to C s, A s
were increased. In the 1980 s, most of the schools were giving A grades to the students. Many
researchers stated that there is no proper evidence for grade inflation. For example Kohn (2002)

The Things That Makes One Tick
In other words, what are the things that makes one tick? That brings us to choose certain paths,
even if the underlying truth of these paths hasn t been recognized. The things that makes us ticks
can be thought of mistakes. A professor of psychology and behavioral economics, Dan Ariely,
studied this issue up close. Through his book, Predictably Irrational, these mistakes are both
explained and contextualized as human error. Something that all of us do on a daily basis without
any recognition. And even when we recognize our misconceptions, we still have a tendency to do it
again. While reading Predictably Irrational, I came across several personal . Things like,
procrastinationand overvaluing materialistic things are two of many misconceptions I have been
aberrant to. We, humans, have a tendency to be aberrant, walking out of reasonable paths and into
irrational ones. Ariely thoroughly explains how emotions dictate behaviors and decisions we
make. Us procrastinators, acknowledge that we do infact procrastinate. The real problem is how
we act, knowing we have tendencies to procrastinate. Emotions rush through our veins and speaks
louder then our consciousness. As Ariely explained, we are in the cool state when we are making
promises such as, spending less or exercising more with a diet. But as soon as we spot materialistic
things, our emotions come rush in bringing us to the hot state. When we ignore our long term goals
for the immediate fulfilment, we are in fact

Cause Of The 2008 Financial Crisis
Causes of the 2008 financial crisis
Financial crisis has been prevalent since time immemorial. The world s economies have been
continually hit by the same and the 2008 financial crisis is definitely not the last appearance. The
financial sector involves complexity and contains one of the world s largest players and has
continually developed into large conglomerates sometimes too big to control. These financial
organizations have developed products that have become hard to regulate and impose control on
which has often led to their collapse. Major world governments and financial institutions, mostly
the central banks have the responsibility to make sure that these organizations are operating both
ethically and legally and within the bounds of the law. This is the institution of supervisory and
regulatory roles to monitor them.
Supervisory and regulatory structures have in the past failed to control the activities of these
enormous companies dealing in financial solutions especially where these organizations have
become larger than the country s individual economies. The financial companies engage in risks
too large for them to handle in a bid to generate more profits and when these ventures have gone
haywire, these companies have sunk.
Foster Magdoff (2009) wrote that the failure of the international financial markets in 2008 led to the
World s worst economic nightmare, with a dip in the market performance that led to the eventual
failure of companies operating therein.

Consequences Of Drinking Alcoholic Beverages With Energy...
Literature Review The practice of adolescents and young adults consuming alcoholic beverages
with energy drinks or AmED has elevated concern on the topic of possible increases in detrimental
practices with regards to drinking, damaging psychological and physiological side effects from
consuming these mixed beverages and behavior that puts the individual and those around them at
risk. In order to better see the effects of consuming both alcohol and energy drinks together, authors
Amy Peacock, Raimondo Bruno and Frances H. Martin present a study that aims to establish the
particular physiological, psychological and behavioral risk taking consequences of drinking
alcoholic beverages with energy drinks in the article, The Subjective Physiological, Psychological,

area, near Tasmania, Australia by the use of posters, media reports and the Internet. Participants
completed an online survey on their usage pattern of energy drinks and alcohol, both independent
and combined usage. Of the 1,113 participants, those who answered less than 50% of the survey,
were international residents, and those who were outside the ages of 18 to 35, were excluded from

Argumentative Essay On Digital Natives
In today s high demand for the latest and most advanced technology, our world is becoming more
and more digitally native. With the youth growing up in a world being native and surrounded by
technology, they are being impacted having reference to the name digital natives. It is a
controversial debate regarding the negative and positive impacts of growing up being a digital
native and there are many viewpoints on the expectations for both digital natives and digital
immigrants. Are these terms entirely accurate? Danah Boyd s book, Are Today s Youth Digital
Natives? descriptively covers the ins and outs of the term digital natives and how this generation
is being affected by technology. In this essay, I will converse between the work of Boyd on her
opinion and research on digital natives and compare it to Marc Prensky, author of Digital Natives,
Digital Immigrants as mentioned in her text, and author Alexandra Samuel of Forget digital natives.
Here s how kids are really using the internet. The term digital nativerefers to people born in the
digital era, in other words, people born in Generation X or younger, who have been exposed to
technology their whole life and what some may assume automatically understand technology (Boyd

The Characteristics Of A Bastard Out Of Carolina
More often than not, families generally have something that relates back to their family names,
whether it s the way they speak or a characteristic that they all happen to share. There are numerous
aspects that make a Boatwright woman, including having the ability to tell a good story.
Considering Bastard Out of Carolina is a semi autobiographical novel, it incorporates many stories
and personal experiences. Ruth Anne, or Bone, tells the story of her life throughout the entire book
and includes an abundance of dialogue between her and her family. A great deal of the
conversations that Bone adds in the novel tend to be stories, mainly by the women in her family.
Therefore, being a competent storyteller is one of the ways of being a Boatwright woman.
The one particular story that Aunt Alma portrays dwells on Bone s biological father. Towards
the beginning of the novel, Bone speculates about her biological father and why she has never
met him. In an effort to prove that he is not someone that Bone should want to meet, she
describes the one time he came to see Bone: That boy was scared shitless, holding you...You just
looked at him with your black Indian eyes like he wasn t nothing but a servant...Then you pissed
a pailful all down his sleeves, the front of his shirt, and right down his pants halfway to his knees!
You peed all over that son of a bitch! (Allison 25). Joyous with this memory, Alma told Bone this
flashback because she likes the fact that Bone did spiteful

Schizophrenia And Its Effects On The Brain
Schizophrenia is a mental psychotic disorder that diminishes the ability to distinguish reality from
fantasy. Schizophrenia ranges from Type I, which are positive symptoms caused by an excess of
functions to Type II, which are negative symptoms caused by a loss of functions within the brain.
Subtypes range from Paranoid to Disorganized schizophrenia. A wide variety of factors can provoke
anyone of these variations of schizophrenia, such as genes, an imbalance of chemicals in the brain,
the death of a loved one, or even stress. Symptoms of Type I Paranoid Schizophrenia include
delusions and auditory hallucinations, which revolve around them. According to 21st Century
Psychology, Anger, detachment, anxiety, argumentativeness, and a patronizing tone accompany
paranoid schizophrenia (302). The prince also has symptoms that complement paranoid
schizophrenia, such as disorganized speech, thinking and behavior. In Hamlet s case, grief caused
by the death of his father provokes stress induced Type I Paranoid Schizophrenia.
The grief Hamlet experiences leads to a buildup of stress, and eventually to a stress induced
hallucination. Hamlet idealizes King Hamlet as a strong commanding leader and loving father. The
very death of the King leaves Hamlet stricken with grief and without anyone to view idealistically.
This grief results in Hamlet thinking nobody can understand what he is going through. Hamlet

Worldview differs from person to person and can be determined by religion (Grand Canyon

was not developed over night. It is something the person has learned and believed to be true their

Pluralism
The understanding of the concept Pluralism is when different people from different class, religions,
race, culture, organizations, etc., are living together in a society and they continue to practice their
different traditions or interest, rather than just one group or culture determining how things go.
Pluralism recognized the fact that different religious or cultures have equal right to voice their
ideas or opinions. No one particular religion or worldview is privileged over others, therefore the
truth is beyond the ability of one group to capture.
Scientism
Scientism is the belief that the best or only way to have knowledge of reality is be means of
sciences (Moreland and Craig, 2003, pp. 246 350). In other word, scientism is calming that the
only way to gain knowledge is through science, therefore every other knowledge that is not form
science is either opinion or false. There is no thought that science has made a different in the
society, but that does not make science the only way to knowledge. There are some inadequacies of
scientism, it should be noted that moral, ethical, and religious claims all involved normative claims
about the way the world ought to be (Grand Canyon University [GCU], 2015).

Psycho Dynamic Concepts And Therapies
Throughout the years and despite the endless scientific research, many have come to believe that
psycho dynamic concepts and therapies are not as effective as other therapies. However, Shedler
(2010) believes that the misconception of the ineffectiveness of psycho dynamic concepts and
therapies are mainly because of the distaste that exists in the mental health professions due to the
hierarchical medical establishment that used to deny training to non MDs and adopted a
dismissive stance towards research (Shedler, pg. 98, 2010). As a result, research was disregarded
and the spot light was placed on the emerging new therapies that were widely welcomed by the

of. The therapy sessions are not as frequent as those of other therapies and treatment is not limited

presenting problem, but also positively influence other aspects of the client s life: relationships, self

The Origins Of Lean Thinking
1.0EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The origins of lean thinking is actually created from the
manufacturing industry. In the manufacturing or production industry, lean management design
approach main objective is focusing on the elimination of waste and having a smooth workflow
through a right process. Lean also enables the organization to improve performance. In the
construction industry, lean thinking still consider a new way or method of managing project in
construction. Lean in the construction is an issue of developing a new thinking, knowledge and

construction project to lean will requires extra effort, not just changing the works procedure but far
from that. Changing the way we think about construction to a new paradigm; lean in construction.

However, in my view, Cohen has underestimated the benefits that economic concentration on
military, brought to the postwar Japanese economic development. In accordance with John
Dower, during the war period, there was a huge increase in the production of machinery (252%),
nonferrous metals (70%), steel (46%) and manufacturing (24%), which was extremely beneficial
for the after war economic growth. Personally, I assume that Dower was right and without the
rapid increase in these industries, Japan would not be able to achieve its postwar economic
prosperity. A good verification of this argument is that after the war was over, many of the
wartime companies (Toyota, Nissan, Normura Securities, Toshiba) were successfully transformed
into peaceful and prosperous commercial corporations, which exist even today. Kenneth Pyle

Persuasive Essay On Organ Transplants
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, there are currently
around 117,000 people with their lives currently on hold, hoping and praying for an organ
transplant that will save their lives. Not only are those patients waiting on the transplant list lives
impacted, but also the lives of the family and friends of those 117,000 men, women, and children
who are also forced to patiently sit and wait, in hopes that their loved one is lucky enough to
receive their vital organ.
However, because of the extreme decline in the U.S. of organ donors and an extreme increase in
patients in need an organ transplant, the likelihood of their loved ones receiving one of these
lifesaving transplants is quickly deteriorating more and more each day. As the national rates for the
number of organ transplants preformed continue to rise more and more each year, the gap between
supply and demand for these organs still continue to expand (Organ Procurement and
Transplantation Network). As a nation, we have continued to advance medically, since the first
successful organ transplantation in 1945 by Nobel Prize winner Joseph Murray, while currently
maintaining a 90% success rate which is both nationally and internationally an all time high

demand for organs be met this problem continues to grow each day despite the recent

The Importance Of Social Class In The Canterbury Tales
What importance does social class have over population as a whole, has it s importance changed
and if it hasn t will it ever change? While reading The Canterbury Tales, many of these questions
were answered before anyones could even create them through the stories of the Prioress, Parsons
and the Knight. For instance, in modern day we place; the rich, famous, and politics in the upper
class. But has that changed over time and do you think that it ever will? Many do believe that
social classdeficiency has changed and that it will not cease to change. Now, whether it s changes
for the better or worse, that s for individuals to decide. In the Middle Ages, social classesconsisted
of about five groups; Royalty, Nobility, Church, Merchants, and Peasantry. As we learned during
the reading, nobility and clergy were for the most part, interchangeable. It becomes evident that
The Canterbury Tales were written about these five groups with stories and lives from each.
Interaction between the social classes wasn t unheard of, but it wasn t a generous interact, if that
makes sense. If and higher class encountered a lower class, then the lower class was almost
always treated as a lower class member. Social classes have changed, but how and why? For
instance, while reading, the Prioress is constantly being shown with an attitude of a higher class
member, That in her cup no single speck was seen of grease, because she drank so neat. (Chaucer
1861) In this it is evident that people

The Welfare Reform The Right Approach
This paper is a group assignment that looks at the different viewpoints for this topic which is
Was the welfare reform the right approach to poverty and my view is yes it was because something
needed to be done. In addition, policy analyst Charles Murray wrote a book called
Losing Ground: American Social Policy, 1950 1980, which discussed abolishing AFDC because of
the issues associated with it. However, 14 years later Clinton changed the program to the Work
Opportunity Reconciliation Act that was signed into law in 1996 (Finsterbusch, 2013, p.236).
Furthermore, the issues associated with AFDC include that it creates dependency, absent fathers,
and people are just too lazy to work. However, many of the issues with welfare are not true, but,
changing it to make people go to work and become self sufficient was the goal for the new
initiatives.
4.3 Was the Welfare Reform the Right Approach to Poverty?
In his State of the Union Address before Congress in 1935, President Roosevelt declared, the time
has come for action by the national government to provide security against the major hazards and
vicissitudes [uncertainties] of life. He went on to propose the creation of federal unemployment and
old age insurance programs. He also called for guaranteed benefits for poor single mothers and their
children along with other dependent persons (Constitutional Rights Foundation, 2016). As a result,
the Social Security Act was signed into law and the National Welfare System

Armstrong State University Men s Basketball Team Essay
I chose to do my Field Study report on the Armstrong State University Men s Basketball team, and
I chose to particularly focus on Game Planning/Preparation . Armstrong State University is a
member of the Peach Belt Conference on the Division Two level of the National Collegiate Athletic
Association, and is located in Savannah, Georgia. I am currently and have been a member of the
Armstrong State Men s Basketballteam since 2012, and every year there are different methods that
are used in game planning and preparation. I know this from personal experience and talking with
my coaches. There are many individuals that don t understand what actually goes into a college
basketball game; it s more than just having talented young athletes being put on a court to showcase
their abilities. There is practice, film, scouting, motivational techniques, mental sharpening
methods, and even extra individual attention to detail. Over the four and a half years that I have
been a member of this basketball program, I have witnessed each one of these methods implored in

Coach Davis and I basically went onto having a conversation about how he has different methods
to trigger different individuals. He basically went on to tell me that he can t talk to another
teammate the way that he talks to me because we have different relationships, and we are different
individuals. He also went on to say that he uses those same general motivational techniques when
game preparation and training is in place, what motivates one team member might not motivate
another. Each induvial has different needs in regards to game planning and preparation. A good
example of this would be that I have been here for four and a half years, therefore I don t need the

History of the Fbi Essay
History of the FBI
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 when the Attorney General appointed an
anonymous force of 34 Special Agents to be investigators for the Department of Justice. Before
that, the DOJ had to borrow Agents from the U.S. Secret Service. In 1909, the Special Agent Force
was renamed the Bureau of Investigation, and after countless name changes, it became The Federal
Bureau of Investigation in 1935.
When the FBI was established, there weren t an abundance of federal crimes, so it investigated
criminal acts that dealt with national banking, bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust, peonage, and
land fraud. In June of 1910, the FBI grew larger because the Mann Act (Made it a crime to

Around this time, Americans feared the invasion of Communism, which triggered the FBI to
investigate people within the U.S. whom were suspected of sabotage and undermining Democracy
in the name of Communism.
The FBI s role in fighting crime grew yet again after the Korean war. On March 14, 1950, the
FBI began its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List to further increase the FBI s capacity to capture
exceptionally dangerous criminals. Many advances in Forensic Sciences helped the FBI to
become even more capable to assist local and state law enforcement agencies to catch criminals.
By this time the number of FBI agents had made a steady climb to about 6,200, and in 1957 the
FBI s budget started to rapidly increase.
In the 1960s, civil rights and organized crime became major concerns of the FBI, and
counterterrorism, drugs, financial crime, and violent crimes in the 1970s. During the 60 s,
Congress passed many new federal laws for the FBI to combat civil rights violations,
racketeering, and gambling. Some of these new laws were the Civil Rights Acts of 1960 and
1964; the 1961 Crimes Aboard Aircraft Act; an expanded Federal Fugitive Act; and the Sports
Bribery Act of 1964. By the end of the 1960s, the FBI had 6,703 Special Agents, 9,320 Support
Personnel, and 58 field offices.
Another new FBI jurisdiction came into play when President Kennedy was assassinated. The

The Censorship Of The Media
Despite Trump s obvious bigotry and objectively harmful policies, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise
to the face of the Republican Party in the 2015 elections. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party s
nominee, Hillary Clinton, faces a litany of allegations regarding her mishandling of classified
information of an attack on an American embassy in a foreign nation. Many late night television
hosts often joke that these two candidates are in a race that they should win because their
opponent is quite obviously a terrible choice. And yet as Americans debate the the merits of these
candidates, many other countries and their politics are disregarded. In a global economy, the
ongoings of the world inform American policy and economics. Yet Americans remain ambivalent
because other countries are not debated in the news. The news media implicitly apply filters to
their coverage of news stories to inform the public thereby creating a narrative skewed by political
or financial gain to influence their viewers. Because the media is privatized, it is difficult to
recognize this propaganda system. Careful dissection of the time and space dedicated to each story
covered by the anchors between networks and newspapers highlights this discrepancy.
A cursory examination into ABC World Newsand NBC Nightly News reveals a conscious decision
to dedicate increasing amounts of time to self identified feel good stories and minimize coverage
of the civil unrest in Yemen, the Syrian refugee crisis, and the

A Wrinkle Through Time Is The Story Of Meg Murry
A Wrinkle In Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high school girl who goes on an adventure
between dimensions with her younger brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin to save her
father from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. These evil forces are known
as IT, and strive to create uniformity and obedience without any resistance. At the end of the
book the children have saved Mr. Murry from imprisonment on Camazotz, but Charles Wallace
was taken over by IT, the one who had Mr. Murry, and was left behind. Meg is forced to go back
to Camazotz alone to save her brother, using something that she has the IT can t fight. Using her
immense love for her brother she frees him from the control of IT and all four of them make it
home safely. I personally would have prefered a more tragic ending, so that s exactly what I m
going to be writing here. My ending diverges from the original plot line after Meg lands on
Camazotz alone to save Charles Wallace: Meg was standing breathlessly on the same hill that she
had landed on the first time she came to Camazotz. She looked around, and after realizing that she
was truly alone, felt dread pool in her stomach. The unforgettable voice of Mrs. Which still echoed

Occupational Therapy History
Occupational Therapy, as defined by WFOT is a client centered health profession concerned with
promoting health and well being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is
to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this
outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the
occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the
environment to better support their occupational engagement . Knowing the definition of
Occupational Therapyis vital to understanding the history of it, and how far this field has evolved
over the years.
From the 1700 s to the 1800s, the moral treatment movement began, and was led by Phillippe Pinel
and William Tuke. Both of these men were considered the leaders of the movement. The three main
features of moral treatment include: respect for human individuality, acceptance of the ... Show

Barton, Dunton, Slagle, Johnson and Kidner along with Isabel Newton met and created the
National Society for the Promotion of Occupational Therapy which later became AOTA. The
AOTA is widely known, and without the creation of NSPOT, it would most likely not be here
today. Duton, as mentioned above was an MD, and he published the Occupational Therapy, a
Manual for Nurses in 1915. Around 1910, William Rush Dunton, Jr. helped create a system for
using crafts in the treatment of patients at Sheppard Asylum. The patients were expected to help
complete tasks in an on site workshop. Kidner, who was also listed above was appointed the
Vocational Secretary of the Canadian Military Hospitals Commission in 1915. He used this
appointment to create a system for veterans that included vocational rehabilitation. He also

Now Unilever is a multi brand company that has over 400 different brands under them. Since
Paul Polman became the CEO of Unilever in 2009 their business plan was shifted from food
brands to beauty and hygiene products as they are more financially beneficial. The same year
Unilever created a sponsorship with a NASCAR team JR Motorsports for advertising purposes of
their products and to gain more publicity.
JR Motorsports is a team overrun by Dale Earnhardt Jr. who is one of the most popular drivers of
NASCAR and also a winner of 50 NASCAR sanctioned races. For the main benefits of the
sponsorship are the financial support from Unilever in exchange they help Unilever to advertise
their products of choice. With the financial support from Unilever JR Motorsports were able to
grow as a team and become a stable organization. For this reason they have remained loyal to
Unilever for a long period of time and help to advertise their products and bring their name in the
world as well as possible. Many companies compete over NASCAR brand promotion because
NASCAR events host a huge audience. Moreover, the team drivers are very involved on and off

Prostitution is legal but human trafficking is not. How can we make prostitutionlegal and then not expect is to lead to more human traffickingaround the world. Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. Usually when you think about prostitution you think about out of the United States. But, now in the United States 1 out of 50 states have prostitution legal. Nevada is the only state where prostitution is legal. But it is still going on in other states in the United States. Prostitution was taken place, usually when a female needs money to support herself or maybe even her family. But, now parents are starting their kids to be prostitutes at the age of THIRTEEN! In Thailand, there are around three million people there are sex workers and around one third are MINORS. Luckily, it is way harder to have minors in the United States then it would be to have minors out of the country. Being a minor means that you are under the age of 18. The Bell Jar is an unsettling account of a young woman s descent into psychosis, where Plath focuses on the individual, whilst exploring how Esther regards relationships and how they influence her search for her own identity. In a similar fashion, Helga Crane is on a continuous search for a genuine sense of self, a place she feels that she belongs. Although perhaps to a lesser extent than Plath, Larsen uses the superficial nature of Helga s relationships with others as a way of expressing her distance from the rest of society. The bond bikers share is a strong one. Bikers are brothers, and it does not take much to create this bond. Strangers can become friends overnight with the sole commonality of riding. Your background, your history, your beliefs, none of it matters to them. What truly matters to them is whether or not you ride. Obviously, I do not mean one of those biker gangs who have terrorized the community; I am referring to anyone who may ride, it could be Mary Sue, who rides her little scooter to Sunday pottery class or Big John, who rides The Hog across the country among all of us, for inexplicable reasons, we share a bond. I realize it seems like I have no idea what I am talking about, considering how little I match the typical Biker persona as a college freshman. Conversely, I can assure you: I am a biker. Although the only real qualification to be a biker is motorcycle ownership, there is an unusual coincidence among bikers a characteristic all bikers share. Something about riding a bike changes you. Bikers possess a certain maturity unlike anything else. I do not know if it has to do with confronting your own mortality, or the feeling of freedom you get when escaping the trivialities of life. • 10. What Does The Parables Say About The Kingdom Of God Journal 8 Psalm 103:19 reads, The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. As highlighted in this verse, the Kingdom of God spans across both earth and heaven and rules over them with equal authority. Much of what we know about the Kingdom of God comes from the parables Jesus told during his earthly ministry. On the surface, it may be hard to determine just what Jesus is saying about the Kingdom of God. By considering the deeper meanings of parables, however, it is possible to see exactly what the parables reveal about the Kingdom of God and what hermeneutical implications that has for our lives. To discover what the parables say about the Kingdom of God, they must first be interpreted. Jesus himself can be found saying that parables contain mysteries on the inside. Sometimes, however, finding the deeper meaning for a parable can be tricky. To make the task of interpreting parables easier, it helps to find out Jesus audience. Jesus did not intend for us to be unable to understand his parables. Rather, he fully intended for them to shed light on the Kingdom of God, sometimes we just need to dig a little deeper with an open heart and open eyes. After interpreting the parables that deal with the Kingdom of God, it is possible to determine some characteristics of the Kingdom of God. With Jesus arrival, he brought with him the Kingdom, hence the reason he is explaining it to people via parables. While Jesus already brought the Kingdom of God, it is also not here yet. God s kingdom reconciliation has begun on this earth but will not be completed until Jesus comes again to finish it completely. Jesus first coming was the beginning of the end for the Kingdom of God. Beyond that, Jesus reveals many other things about the Kingdom of God. For example, from the mustard seed parable, the Kingdom of God is like the nature of a mustard seed in that it started small but is growing very large. In addition, Jesus explains the four different responses people have to the Kingdom of God in the parable of the sower by explaining the outcome of seed planted on four different types of soil. The first poem, Porphyrias Lover, was written in the mid ninteenth century, around 1842. It is the dramatic monologue of the Lover. It is not made known who the recipient of this poem is. As the reader reads on we see her seductiveness, she put my arm about her waist and made her shoulder bare After this has happened the Lover states his critisisem of her. He says she is too weak and proud and vain. This however tells more about the character of the Lover than that of Porphyria, it shows his very high expectations and his dissatisfaction. The Characteristics Of A Bastard Out Of Carolina More often than not, families generally have something that relates back to their family names, whether it s the way they speak or a characteristic that they all happen to share. There are numerous aspects that make a Boatwright woman, including having the ability to tell a good story. Considering Bastard Out of Carolina is a semi autobiographical novel, it incorporates many stories and personal experiences. Ruth Anne, or Bone, tells the story of her life throughout the entire book and includes an abundance of dialogue between her and her family. A great deal of the conversations that Bone adds in the novel tend to be stories, mainly by the women in her family. Therefore, being a competent storyteller is one of the ways of being a Boatwright woman. The one particular story that Aunt Alma portrays dwells on Bone s biological father. Towards the beginning of the novel, Bone speculates about her biological father and why she has never met him. In an effort to prove that he is not someone that Bone should want to meet, she describes the one time he came to see Bone: That boy was scared shitless, holding you...You just looked at him with your black Indian eyes like he wasn t nothing but a servant...Then you pissed a pailful all down his sleeves, the front of his shirt, and right down his pants halfway to his knees! There is practice, film, scouting, motivational techniques, mental sharpening methods, and even extra individual attention to detail. Over the four and a half years that I have been a member of this basketball program, I have witnessed each one of these methods implored in different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coach Davis and I basically went onto having a conversation about how he has different methods to trigger different individuals. He basically went on to tell me that he can t talk to another teammate the way that he talks to me because we have different relationships, and we are different individuals. He also went on to say that he uses those same general motivational techniques when game preparation and training is in place, what motivates one team member might not motivate another. Each induvial has different needs in regards to game planning and preparation. A good example of this would be that I have been here for four and a half years, therefore I don t need the same attention and focus to detail that my other teammates need because they are new to the ... History of the Fbi Essay History of the FBI The Federal Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 when the Attorney General appointed an anonymous force of 34 Special Agents to be investigators for the Department of Justice. Before that, the DOJ had to borrow Agents from the U.S. Secret Service. In 1909, the Special Agent Force was renamed the Bureau of Investigation, and after countless name changes, it became The Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935. When the FBI was established, there weren t an abundance of federal crimes, so it investigated criminal acts that dealt with national banking, bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust, peonage, and land fraud. In June of 1910, the FBI grew larger because the Mann Act (Made it a crime to transport women to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Around this time, Americans feared the invasion of Communism, which triggered the FBI to investigate people within the U.S. whom were suspected of sabotage and undermining Democracy in the name of Communism. The FBI s role in fighting crime grew yet again after the Korean war. On March 14, 1950, the FBI began its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List to further increase the FBI s capacity to capture exceptionally dangerous criminals. Many advances in Forensic Sciences helped the FBI to become even more capable to assist local and state law enforcement agencies to catch criminals. By this time the number of FBI agents had made a steady climb to about 6,200, and in 1957 the FBI s budget started to rapidly increase. In the 1960s, civil rights and organized crime became major concerns of the FBI, and counterterrorism, drugs, financial crime, and violent crimes in the 1970s. During the 60 s, Congress passed many new federal laws for the FBI to combat civil rights violations, racketeering, and gambling. Some of these new laws were the Civil Rights Acts of 1960 and 1964; the 1961 Crimes Aboard Aircraft Act; an expanded Federal Fugitive Act; and the Sports Bribery Act of 1964. By the end of the 1960s, the FBI had 6,703 Special Agents, 9,320 Support Personnel, and 58 field offices. Another new FBI jurisdiction came into play when President Kennedy was assassinated. The ... • 45. The Censorship Of The Media Despite Trump s obvious bigotry and objectively harmful policies, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the face of the Republican Party in the 2015 elections. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party s nominee, Hillary Clinton, faces a litany of allegations regarding her mishandling of classified information of an attack on an American embassy in a foreign nation. Many late night television hosts often joke that these two candidates are in a race that they should win because their opponent is quite obviously a terrible choice. And yet as Americans debate the the merits of these candidates, many other countries and their politics are disregarded. In a global economy, the ongoings of the world inform American policy and economics. Yet Americans remain ambivalent because other countries are not debated in the news. The news media implicitly apply filters to their coverage of news stories to inform the public thereby creating a narrative skewed by political or financial gain to influence their viewers. Because the media is privatized, it is difficult to recognize this propaganda system. Careful dissection of the time and space dedicated to each story covered by the anchors between networks and newspapers highlights this discrepancy. A cursory examination into ABC World Newsand NBC Nightly News reveals a conscious decision to dedicate increasing amounts of time to self identified feel good stories and minimize coverage of the civil unrest in Yemen, the Syrian refugee crisis, and the ... These evil forces are known as IT, and strive to create uniformity and obedience without any resistance. At the end of the book the children have saved Mr. Murry from imprisonment on Camazotz, but Charles Wallace was taken over by IT, the one who had Mr. Murry, and was left behind. Meg is forced to go back to Camazotz alone to save her brother, using something that she has the IT can t fight. Using her immense love for her brother she frees him from the control of IT and all four of them make it home safely. I personally would have prefered a more tragic ending, so that s exactly what I m going to be writing here. My ending diverges from the original plot line after Meg lands on Camazotz alone to save Charles Wallace: Meg was standing breathlessly on the same hill that she had landed on the first time she came to Camazotz. She looked around, and after realizing that she was truly alone, felt dread pool in her stomach. The unforgettable voice of Mrs. Which still echoed in her ears.
