Humans have forever been obsessed with symmetry, very evident in the art all
around us. This was observed by a reddit user too when they noticed a similar
pattern after seeing the list of all time best-selling video games containing W and X
and the list of all time best selling toys containing Y and Z and declared “Humans
really freaking love squares huh!!”
W - a sandbox video game i.e. in which player is not constrained to achieving
specific goals and has freedom to explore, interact with, or modify the game.
X - a legendary puzzle video game.
Y - a toy with lots of room for creativity.
Z - a legendary puzzle toy.

The following is the interview of X with The Hindu on his 87th birthday. (Question in
italics)
A majority of your work has been set in the hills. Some of it has been set in other
places like Delhi. Have you ever felt like travelling to an unfamiliar place, perhaps
somewhere in a village in the South, and writing about the people there?
Hopefully in my next life. But you can read my autobiography, Lone Fox Dancing, for
early travels.
Childhood is another recurring theme of your works. The experience of childhood
has changed too in this era of technology and gadgets. What do you make of it?
True, but some things don’t change like friendships, school days, festivals, games,
food and ice-creams.
Identify X.

Last year, a delighted son tweeted ,"A very proud moment for me right now and
thanks for airing X as my father Sir Aslam Khan has been a part of a major supporting
role. A very thanks to all the X team."
While seeing your father on television is truly a proud moment for any son, his tweet
came when his father rose into exponential fame even though he wasn’t the part of
the main cast. While some were hailing him as Kamal Haasan, others were calling
him multi-talented KL Rahul.
Identify X. What was so special about Sir Aslam Khan that he suddenly was being
discussed over the internet?

Since EEE students have been talking about KBC, a question dedicated to their pain.
Charles Ingram was a contestant on the iTV show “Who wants to be a Millionaire”.
After a bad start, everyone doubted he would proceed much further but he
surprised all and reached the jackpot of £1 million.
But as soon as Ingram left the set, the production team noticed that Ingram was
being aided by his wife and a fellow competitor in an unsuspicious way (probably
very suspicious these days) while rewatching the tape. With the set very dimly lit
and both his aids sitting behind him, Ingram went with an auditory tactic.
How did he manage to cheat his way to the million dollars?

Sorry Apple, but "The Simpsons" had smart watches first.
In a 1995 episode in which the show is set in the future, Lisa's husband is
shown speaking to a phone on his wrist.
The first smartwatch wasn't created until 2013.

A group of gun-toting rioters took the Capitol building

Of course, The Simpsons saw it coming. In the 1996 episode 'The Day the

landmark being invaded by a raging mob.

It was one of the most shocking episodes in the entire Game
Of Thrones run, but fans claimed that the opening episode of
The Simpsons' season 29 predicted the dragon's fiery
destruction.

village — similar to the fiery destruction of King’s Landing in one of the final

Simpsons, claiming that the writers knew what was going to
happen in Syria.

began waving in 2011.

A Reddit user claimed that The Simpsons predicted Greece
would be in financial crisis before it happened for real.
In a scene from a 2013 episode, titled Politically Inept, featuring Homer
Simpson, a news headline flashed up on screen that read: “Europe puts
Greece on eBay.”
The satirical joke implies that Europe would have to raise enough to fund
the bail out.
63. In a 1990 episode, characters protested Michelangelo's statue of David as it
was exhibited in the museum.
They wanted to cover up the nudity.
In July 2016, Russian campaigners voted whether they
should cover a dupe of the Renaissance statue that was
situated in central St Petersburg.

An Unearthly Child is the first episode of the British TV series X, one of the
longest-running shows of all times. It debuted on 23 November 1963.
The episode received significantly less viewership than the rest - almost 1.5 millions
less. This was because of some mishap across the Atlantic that happened the day
before the show was set to debut. Detailed news reports covering the fourth
incident of its kind ran just before the episode was set to air and even led to a delay
by almost 2 minutes.
Identify the show X. What was the incident which resulted in a smaller audience?

X initially started as a dating site, where people could share videos and set up dates.
It didn't attract many people and lacked engagement. But one day, when the
founders were searching for an infamous superbowl incident of 2005, they couldn’t
find it anywhere and thus came up with X.
Y initially started a website that enabled its users to create, record and share
podcasts. But itunes entering podcasting provided a major setback. One day, the
founder noticed how people around him were glued to their screens, sending text
messages one after another. Thus Y was born - a site for ‘short bursts of
inconsequential information’.
Identify X and Y.

Back in August 2021, a company X was feeling ‘on top of the world’ after an
announcement made by the UK government. To commemorate this event, they
filmed an advertisement perfectly showcasing their emotions.
Stuntwoman Nicole Smith-Ludvik was hired to play the role of one of X’s employees.
Even though the real-life employees of X are familiar with altitudes 10 times from the
one where this ad was shot, it was still deemed too dangerous for them and thus
Nicole was hired.
Nicole was cool as a cucumber and managed to shoot the ad smoothly. So smoothly,
people couldn’t believe it was real and they actually had to release BTS video as a
proof!
Identify the company X and where was this ad shot?

“We innovate. You win” is the motto the company lives by as their product is used by
many athletes at the olympics regardless of their nationality or sponsorship deals.
They offer the same equal quality product to every user - even you and me! But of
course, the athletes make better use of it.
Designed for speed, it has “three-dimensional rubber granules” with a “selected
polymeric system integrated into the top layer.” Runner Kyron McMaster said it
better : “I felt my legs were just turning over”.

Vince Mcmahon and WWE has always tried to cash in on real world incidents and
been able to turn in profits no matter how controversial angles they produced.
In 1990, Sergeant Slaughter made his return to the arena. Slaughter aligned himself
with a kayfabe military general, General Adnan, not for the actual political reasons,
but more for the fact that Slaughter liked "brutality" while the US regime was said by
Slaughter to have become "soft" and "weak".
Mcmahon decided to put Sgt. Slaughter vs Hulk Hogan as the main event of the
Wrestlemania 7 (1991), booking the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
(capacity-100,000) for the event. They later shifted to a much smaller Sports Arena
(capacity-15,000) sighting security concerns. But the wrestling world could see
through this ruse and it is believed that low ticket sale was the reason for this as
people lost interest.
What real world event they cashing in on? Why did this angle stop working?

For those well versed in movies from the Nigerian film industry, a.k.a. Nollywood,
there’s no mystery here. The “boys” - Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze - are the
Nigerian comic-film duo.
Don’t be fooled by Iheme and Ikedieze’s size — they’re both grown men (Iheme is 39
and Ikedieze is 43). They’re two of the most sought-after actors in Nigeria for
comedic roles, and they rose to fame by playing mischievous children under the
moniker “Aki and Pawpaw”.
So assuming none of us here have seen or even heard about Nollywood, where else
have we seen this duo?

In EURO 2020, Scotland was meeting England after a long hiatus from the major
tournament stage. Last time they met was in EURO 96 where Paul Gascoigne (Gazza)
(a picture follows this slide) stole the show and England defeated Scotland. So Phil
Foden before the tournament recreated something in the hopes of bringing some of
Gazza’s flair to the field.
“First of all I’ve had the same _______ for what seems ages now, so I thought I would
try something new. And then I woke up this morning with a lot of comparisons to
Gazza and X. So, yeah, it was my own thing and people turned it into something else.
But they’ve said that they liked it so it’s a positive thing, which I’m surprised about.”
