Studying human psychology, on a cohort of 30 students undertaking exams
over a 21-day period, this researcher identified a universal behavior. Based on
their findings, they proposed the ULP curve.
The ULP curve provides a simple means of
estimating the number of submissions expected
as a function of <redacted>. Practical concerns
for a receiving institution include:
- how to handle the number of submissions
received on <redacted>
- whether that load will overtax
or crash the systems.
What human behavior is being studied here?

There is a basketball court located in <REDACTED> which is frequently
referred to as “The Highest Court in the Land”.
The court was initially a spare room for house journals, but in the 1940s, it
was converted into a workout area. Wooden backboards and baskets were
installed later, which led to the court’s current use as a basketball court. At
roughly 78 feet long and 37 feet wide, the court is smaller than the
regulation 94-by-50 feet. The court is not open to the public.
A few notable names that have played in the smaller-than-regulation-
sized court aren’t NBA stars but a class of working professionals important
to the entire nation.
A sign at the court’s entrance tells: PLAYING BASKETBALL AND WEIGHT

Robert Voit has discovered a new kind of tree that is
sprouting up all over the world that is molded to resemble
a real tree, and clad with fake branches and leaves.
Dubbing these weird sore thumbs "new trees," Voit has
found all kinds of specimens--pine, palm, cypress, cactus-
-throughout the world, in deserts or in the middle of newly
planted forests, in fields and parking lots, next to
highways or in housing developments.
The artificiality of these "new trees" readily declares itself--
the trunks may be marked with warnings to keep away--
and even without these clues they stick out from their

A majority of us would remember this rhyme X from our childhood. And we all
used to chant the first line of this rhyme wrong with utter joy. Little did we know
that this was about the Great Plague.
The first line describes a reddish pink rash that broke out on the victim’s body.
Second line refers to the herbs and sweet smelling flowers to protect
themselves.
The third is the corruption of “A-tishoo! A-tishoo!” and referred to the victim’s
violent sneezing.
The last line tells of the victim’s collapse from the disease.

There is a small town in Bavaria, Germany that is of interest to a lot of
people. It was built in an impact crater around 15 million years old. The

The town is famous for its fortification that has protected the town. It is
one of the few places in Germany that still has intact city walls that
were erected as a method of protection against the war between
Protestants and Catholics.
The town has houses with red roofs. These roofs are made of around

Geosmin, a molecule produced by the soil bacterium Streptomyces coelicolor
through a complex enzymatic process, emits a unique musty scent that is
easily detectable by most organisms.
This chemical plays a crucial role in nature, aiding camels in
locating oases and assisting cactus flowers in attracting
pollinating insects.
Humans possess a remarkably low threshold for detecting the
odor of geosmin, ranging from 0.006 to 0.01 micrograms per
liter in <X>. In addition to its role in guiding animals and
aiding in pollination, geosmin is also responsible for which other familiar smell?

For centuries, fungi were widely held to be harmful to plants, parasites that cause
disease and dysfunction. More recently, it has become understood that certain kinds
of common fungi exist in subtle symbiosis with plants, bringing about not infection but
connection.
These fungi send out gossamer-fine fungal tubes called hyphae, which infiltrate the
soil and weave into the tips of plant roots at a cellular level. Roots and fungi combine
to form what is called a mycorrhiza.
In this way, individual plants are joined to one another by an underground hyphal
network: a dazzlingly complex and collaborative structure that has become known
as the ____/____/___ .
Fill in the blanks, paying homage to another 90s invention.

This is a term used to describe when a ball is returned over the net and it
falls in between one, two, three, or more players, without any of them going
after the ball. After the ball has landed and is out of play, and the outcome
is a moment where all participants find themselves facing each other,
looking down at the same spot on the ground, as if they were all standing
around a “X”.
This scenario often leads to players sharing a collective moment of
amusement as if gathered around a metaphorical X, albeit one that would
be enhanced with the addition of marshmallows!

● In India, Peanuts are also known as _______ Almonds.
● In New Zealand, Kiwis were initially called _______ Gooseberries.
One might associate this naming convention as a humorous attempt of how
_______ is often associated with low quality and cheap dupes. Well that would be
cool if it's true but rather the real reason is not something fascinating.
It's just that if 'X' is called _______ 'Y' then in most cases Y is the edible item that was

Zealand and South Africa in Johannesburg despite not being a player for either
team. The match itself didn’t have too much action. NZ had been bowled out for
200 in about 94 overs, and in response, South Africa batted excessively slowly
(considering their wickets in hand) leading to a score of 261-3 in 97 overs by the

S10_E06-Sincerely,The Friday Club- Prelims Farewell Quiz.pptx

  • 1.
  • 4. Sincerely, The Friday Club Studying human psychology, on a cohort of 30 students undertaking exams over a 21-day period, this researcher identified a universal behavior. Based on their findings, they proposed the ULP curve. The ULP curve provides a simple means of estimating the number of submissions expected as a function of <redacted>. Practical concerns for a receiving institution include: - how to handle the number of submissions received on <redacted> - whether that load will overtax or crash the systems. What human behavior is being studied here?
  • 6. Sincerely, The Friday Club There is a basketball court located in <REDACTED> which is frequently referred to as “The Highest Court in the Land”. The court was initially a spare room for house journals, but in the 1940s, it was converted into a workout area. Wooden backboards and baskets were installed later, which led to the court’s current use as a basketball court. At roughly 78 feet long and 37 feet wide, the court is smaller than the regulation 94-by-50 feet. The court is not open to the public. A few notable names that have played in the smaller-than-regulation- sized court aren’t NBA stars but a class of working professionals important to the entire nation. A sign at the court’s entrance tells: PLAYING BASKETBALL AND WEIGHT LIFTING ARE PROHIBITED WHILE THE <REDACTED> IS IN SESSION. ID the location of this basketball court.
  • 8. Sincerely, The Friday Club Robert Voit has discovered a new kind of tree that is sprouting up all over the world that is molded to resemble a real tree, and clad with fake branches and leaves. Dubbing these weird sore thumbs "new trees," Voit has found all kinds of specimens--pine, palm, cypress, cactus- -throughout the world, in deserts or in the middle of newly planted forests, in fields and parking lots, next to highways or in housing developments. The artificiality of these "new trees" readily declares itself-- the trunks may be marked with warnings to keep away-- and even without these clues they stick out from their surroundings. What are these “New Trees” in reality?
  • 10. Sincerely, The Friday Club Why are these people in news recently? (the more famous of the lot not mentioned)
  • 12. Sincerely, The Friday Club Ad campaign for what?
  • 14. Sincerely, The Friday Club In Greek mythology, a vigilant watchman X with a hundred eyes was set by Hera to watch Io, another of Zeus's fling. Ofc, Zeus keeping up to his nature sent Hermes to rescue Io and slay the guardian X. After his death, his eyes were said to have been transferred by Hera to the animal Y. The term X-eyed is used to mean extremely vigilant, sharp-sighted. Identify the mythological X and the ornithological Y.
  • 16. Sincerely, The Friday Club A majority of us would remember this rhyme X from our childhood. And we all used to chant the first line of this rhyme wrong with utter joy. Little did we know that this was about the Great Plague. The first line describes a reddish pink rash that broke out on the victim’s body. Second line refers to the herbs and sweet smelling flowers to protect themselves. The third is the corruption of “A-tishoo! A-tishoo!” and referred to the victim’s violent sneezing. The last line tells of the victim’s collapse from the disease. Give X.
  • 18. Sincerely, The Friday Club There is a small town in Bavaria, Germany that is of interest to a lot of people. It was built in an impact crater around 15 million years old. The town is said to be an inspiration for a particular fictional district. The town is famous for its fortification that has protected the town. It is one of the few places in Germany that still has intact city walls that were erected as a method of protection against the war between Protestants and Catholics. The town has houses with red roofs. These roofs are made of around 72000 tons of tiny diamonds (though not of market value due to very small size). ID the fictional district.
  • 21. Sincerely, The Friday Club Geosmin, a molecule produced by the soil bacterium Streptomyces coelicolor through a complex enzymatic process, emits a unique musty scent that is easily detectable by most organisms. This chemical plays a crucial role in nature, aiding camels in locating oases and assisting cactus flowers in attracting pollinating insects. Humans possess a remarkably low threshold for detecting the odor of geosmin, ranging from 0.006 to 0.01 micrograms per liter in <X>. In addition to its role in guiding animals and aiding in pollination, geosmin is also responsible for which other familiar smell?
  • 23. Sincerely, The Friday Club For centuries, fungi were widely held to be harmful to plants, parasites that cause disease and dysfunction. More recently, it has become understood that certain kinds of common fungi exist in subtle symbiosis with plants, bringing about not infection but connection. These fungi send out gossamer-fine fungal tubes called hyphae, which infiltrate the soil and weave into the tips of plant roots at a cellular level. Roots and fungi combine to form what is called a mycorrhiza. In this way, individual plants are joined to one another by an underground hyphal network: a dazzlingly complex and collaborative structure that has become known as the ____/____/___ . Fill in the blanks, paying homage to another 90s invention.
  • 25. Sincerely, The Friday Club This is a term used to describe when a ball is returned over the net and it falls in between one, two, three, or more players, without any of them going after the ball. After the ball has landed and is out of play, and the outcome is a moment where all participants find themselves facing each other, looking down at the same spot on the ground, as if they were all standing around a “X”. This scenario often leads to players sharing a collective moment of amusement as if gathered around a metaphorical X, albeit one that would be enhanced with the addition of marshmallows! What is the term X?
  • 27. Sincerely, The Friday Club Collaboration between Jacquemus and ?
  • 29. Sincerely, The Friday Club During a 2010 NFC Wild Card playoff game, Marshawn Lynch of Seattle Seahawks had a remarkable run of 67 yards before scoring the touchdown against the New Orleans Saints. It was later found that the activity and noise by the fans had been registered as a small tremor of magnitude 2 at a nearby seismic network station. This run was thus called Beast Quake (Lynch's nickname being "Beast Mode”). A similar event occurred in July ‘23 in Seattle when fans of <REDACTED> in the area caused tremors of magnitude 2.3 on richter scale. It was mostly because they were jumping, dancing and cheering. This was famously referred to as X. ID X.
  • 31. Sincerely, The Friday Club Whose website? (images follow)
  • 36. Sincerely, The Friday Club Some of the edible items like fruits and nuts which have a definitive name has been known by other names. For e.g., ● In India, Peanuts are also known as _______ Almonds. ● In New Zealand, Kiwis were initially called _______ Gooseberries. One might associate this naming convention as a humorous attempt of how _______ is often associated with low quality and cheap dupes. Well that would be cool if it's true but rather the real reason is not something fascinating. It's just that if 'X' is called _______ 'Y' then in most cases Y is the edible item that was discovered earlier and X just resembles Y be it in taste texture or appearance and _______ just refers to the origin of X. FITB.
  • 38. Sincerely, The Friday Club Trilobites are a group of marine arthropods that went extinct “a long time ago”. XY is a trilobite whose fossilized remains were found in the riverbeds of Southern China. This species’ naming is a matter of great curiosity. While X is in honour of the X people who live in the region where this fossil was found, Y is apt considering that this trilobite is the only known member in its genus. The catch? While this explanation is technically correct, the species was actually named after the fictional character “XY“, as dared by [the scientist’s] friends “since most of the characters’ names sound like scientific names.” Name the species or the fictional character, who share the same name XY.
  • 40. Sincerely, The Friday Club Artist James Cook created this ambitious artwork of the Eiffel Tower depicting an aerial perspective. This is a product listing for the limited edition of 200 hand-signed print and not the original artwork. This artwork forms part of a series of aerial architectural drawings released in 2023. Simply tell me how he creates his art.
  • 43. Sincerely, The Friday Club This is the cover of the 1999 album “Enema of the State” by Blink 182. There was a slight modification between the first release cover (shown here) and the cover featured in later releases, with one element being removed. They had to do this because the earlier image was in violation of the Geneva convention. What was the element that they removed?
  • 45. Sincerely, The Friday Club Look at the YT description of a video and identify the athlete on whom this video was made. What is the apt title of this video referencing a much awaited sequel in 2022.
  • 47. Sincerely, The Friday Club Ad campaign called “Mic” by which company for what purpose?
  • 50. Sincerely, The Friday Club A man named Chris Scott was the Man of the Match at a Test match between New Zealand and South Africa in Johannesburg despite not being a player for either team. The match itself didn’t have too much action. NZ had been bowled out for 200 in about 94 overs, and in response, South Africa batted excessively slowly (considering their wickets in hand) leading to a score of 261-3 in 97 overs by the end of the last day. As a result, the match referee did not feel inclined to give the award to any of the players. Instead, he awarded it to Chris Scott, who could arguably be said to have had the most impact over the course of the match. A few years later, he was even featured in advertisements for the 2003 WC final. What was Chris Scott’s profession?
  • 52. Sincerely, The Friday Club The name of the brand Soezi by Sonakshi Sinha suggests that the products it sells are an alternative to a rather tedious, time consuming and usually expensive service. Hence it made getting that service “so easy”. When you go to the brand’s website you’ll find these dropdown menus and most of the products are named based on bollywood movies/characters/cliches which has a coat of color to it like ”Laal Dupatta” “Rajjo Red” & “The Sky is Pink” So what does Soezi sells?
  • 54. Sincerely, The Friday Club Tourists in Paris were recently greeted by the sight of hundreds of individuals weaving through the medieval streets in a unique event preceding the Olympics. Unlike their lycra-clad counterparts on the bigger stage, the participants in the said event wore a white shirt, dark trousers and <redacted> provided by the organisers. The event was originally started to “highlight this French style of service, these establishments that are envied the world over, this Parisian way of life”, as emphasized by the deputy mayor during the announcement last month." What event?
  • 56. Sincerely, The Friday Club Last year, this brand Y came up with a unique promotional stunt. A Y store in Gujarat opened its doors to the hordes of people who were there for a special occasion, but haven’t been able to arrange for accommodation. In a post shared that afternoon on the microblogging platform X, Y co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda announced that attendees can stay overnight for free at this nearest Gujarat store. To avail the free stay offer, people can visit the Y store in Sarkhej-<redacted>. They must show their “pass” to the event to stay the night. Those interested can book their spots in advance by sending an email on a dedicated email address. Why were so many people here? Identify the company Y.
  • 58. Sincerely, The Friday Club X was an experimental World War II weapon developed by the United States. Lytle S. Adams noticed that X would be very successful against Japanese infrastructure consisting of buildings that were made of paper, bamboo, and other highly flammable material. The strategy was to deploy X above Japanese cities containing numerous dispersed industrial sites. After the release from high altitudes, the <REDACTED> would disperse widely, hiding in building across the city by dawn. Subsequently, timed detonations within the bombs would initiate. There were 4 biological advantages of this plan: - <REDACTED> occur(s) in large numbers - A lot of weight can be carried by <REDACTED> - Food or maintenance is not required for while in inactive phase - Active in darkness and hide in daylight ID X (was never really used because soon the atomic bomb was in the picture).
  • 60. Sincerely, The Friday Club Back when a brand-new company called Google was getting its first trickle of angel investment from the likes of Jeff Bezos and others, early netizens could already use a service called _____ in 1998. Mainly, it was used by fans of a certain orange, obese and pasta- loving cartoon X. Well before Google debuted its now-ubiquitous product in 2004, these orange enthusiasts could access the original at _____.X.com. While some online sources have mistakenly stated otherwise, the domain “_____.com” never belonged to Paws Inc, the studio owned by X’s creator Jim Davis. FITB and Identify X (someone coming to the cinemas soon!)

It is one of the few places in Germany that still has intact city walls that were erected as a method of protection against the war between Protestants and Catholics. The town has houses with red roofs. These roofs are made of around 72000 tons of tiny diamonds (though not of market value due to very small size). ID the fictional district.

  • 100. ID X.

  • 109. • 112.
