Since the designers wanted X to look and act differently,
they drew inspirations from many untraditional sources:
The walk cycle of X was modelled on a baby with a
loaded diaper.
X’s look was inspired by an infomercial for a Japanese
Rice Cooker. “This infomercial had the cutest looking rice
cooker I’d ever seen,” Kim recalled. “Its design was not
only simple and good-looking, it also managed to hide
away all of the advanced technology which actually
powered this rice cooker. Which is exactly what we were
trying to do with X. We wanted X to have a non-
threatening appearance but — at the same time — be
believably powerful and heroic.”

features Alex passing a poster for Ned Kelly, a film
starring X who’d mentioned the Chelsea Drug Store only
a couple of years before in one of his most famous works
dealing with the difference between desire and need.
This is probably a clever reference by Kubrick since
Anthony Burgess , the author of the book the movie is
based on, had originally sold the movie to X for $500
when he needed quick cash - and X intended to make it
with his colleagues as the droogs.
But fortunately, it didn't materialise.

When Michael Bay was putting together Optimus Prime
for the Transformers movies, there were some great
decisions that he made in terms of how the character
would look. Then, in a fair surprise, he said that the
behavior and dialogue of the character would be based
off of X. Not the actor's portrayal of particular characters,
but just X in general. Some of the buzzwords that go
along when talking about this actor are "dangerous",
"badass", and "thrilling". Needless to say, it's not hard to
see how Bay incorporated this vision into the live-action
version of Optimus Prime.

The songwriter Liam Sternberg got the inspiration for
the song when he was on a ferry boat and saw people
struggling to keep their balance. The way they held
out their arms and jerked around made it look like
they were emulating figures seen in paintings/artwork
from a particular part of the world and if the boat
moved suddenly, they would all topple over.
The song topped the Billboard hot 100 for 4 weeks

Super Deluxe was a 2019 Tamil neo-noir film directed by
Tiagarajan Kumararaja 8 years after his first film , which
received wide acclaim for the bold & rich storytelling ,
cinematography and some clever pop-culture references.
One of the four subplots in the film involves a guy who
accepts a statue as a God since he escaped from death
during 2004 Tsunami by clinging to it. Like many of the
Easter eggs in the films , this plot point was referred by

Towards the end of July , Within 24 hours of posting his
video ______ to YouTube, this rapper broke a record

Martin McDonagh's multi-starrer flick Seven Psychopaths
(2012) tells the adventures of Marty(Colin Farrell) , a
struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay,
Seven Psychopaths. An East Asian mercenary who is
contemplating on killing a prostitute is shown repeatedly
as one of the Psychopaths in his script , but only in the
end of the film we realise that these were the final
thoughts going on in the mind of someone who was on
the cusp of committing a brave act in 1963 , the
execution of which created ripples leading to a military
coup backed by a foreign power.

Everybody's Everything is a documentary which premiered
this year at SXSW. It aims to carry on the legacy of an
eccentric genre-blending artist.
From an early age, his grandfather, the famous Latin
American historian John Womack, instilled anti-
establishment and revolutionary sentiments upon his
grandson, which he processed in his own way by tattooing
the words “Cry Baby” largely across his face. As friends and

executives at Miramax first went to X for help adapting
the translation of the Japanese script of Princess
Mononoke into a more workable localisation. X instead
suggested Y to pen the tale for the company. Y
confirmed that he went uncredited on the poster and

expendable” after Ghibli asked Miramax to cut the names

spent three years watching 400 movies looking for
realistic portrayals of psychopaths. Iconic ’psychopaths’
including Patrick Bateman, Norman Bates and Hannibal
Lecter may be entertaining or frightening but Leistedt
argued their traits don’t fit the psychopath mould.

In 2016, when country singer Amanda Shires was finishing
her record, My Piece of Land, had an idea to create a girl
country supergroup in homage to the aforementioned group
and named them by applying a feminine twist-cum-

self-titled debut album on September 6, 2019 to

Balu Mahendra, the pioneer cinematographer-cum-
fimmaker feted for his use of natural lighting and films
dealing with offbeat subjects was drawn to cinema after
watching the shooting of a classic British-American co-
production at Kitulgala, Sri Lanka during a school trip
around mid-1950s. He joined FTII Pune , got a Gold
medal and started his career as a cinematographer.
Even though the story was set in an area slightly
northeast from Sri Lanka , the crew found shooting there
would be cumbersome and inefficient and Ceylon was

This is not a movie that feels timeless today—and
looking back, not one that was particularly
groundbreaking in its own time, either. Yet it does
contribute to the tapestry of 1999 cinema a vision of
“perfect” baby boomer prosperity being dismantled—
belatedly, imperfectly, non-definitively, maybe even self-
aggrandizingly, but dismantled nonetheless. Without
leaning heavily on youth-culture trends or obvious
signposts of its era, it has nonetheless become very
much of its time. Timelessness is a wonderful (and

timelines and the history of the universe. We wanted

The punk band Dead Kennedys put together their own
version of "X" shortly after San Francisco politician Dan
White murdered city Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor
George Moscone in 1978. Most of the lyrics were re-
written so the song was from White's point of view. It
specifically cites his use of the diminished responsibility
defense. It also makes use of the reference "Twinkie
defense", where lead singer Jello Biafra sings "Twinkies
are the best friend I ever had".A small change was made
to the chorus (X) to reflect how White got away with first-
degree premeditated murder.
