But Tobias's voice didn't feel
quite right.”

2. The choosing ceremony
changes peoples lives
forever and you aren’t
allowed to change your
mind. A bunch of 16 year old
children can choose to stay
of leave their families
forever, and if they leave
their parents have to
pretend they never existed.
Many children left their
families to go to other
factions and leave
everything they know. Many
families are devastated but
a few understood; “My
father’s eyes burn into mine
with a look of accusation.”
Tris explains to us; “Beside
him, my mother is smiling.”
After the choosing
ceremony many parents
watch their children leave
without them. Natalie and
Andrew Prior are one of
them. Both their children
Beatrice and Caleb Prior left
for two different factions
Caleb went to Erudite and
Beatrice left to Dauntless.

Choosing Ceremony Changes Lives
Forever
The choosing ceremony changes families lives
without being allowed to go back.
3. The first jumper was the
daughter of Andrew Prior
one of the Abnegation
leaders and a council
member.
All people can talk about is
this young girl from
Abnegation that was the
first jumper; “A stiff, the first
to jump? Unheard of.”
Lauren informs us.
Tris Prior volunteered after
everyone else was afraid
even the Dauntless born
initiates were scared to be
the first to jump.
At the bottom was a net
but the initiates didn’t know
so no one would take the
risk except for Tris and
luckily there was a net for
her to land in and she was
greeted by other Dauntless
members; “There is a net at
the bottom of the hole.” Tris
explains to us.
