Rose Weaver is an accomplished actress, playwright, director, and educator with over 40 years of experience in theatre. She holds an MFA from Brown University and a BA from Wheaton College. She has taught at several colleges and universities and received many honors including honorary doctorates. Her original plays have been produced nationally and internationally.

2. Terry-Morgan and three actors to deepen, develop and explore my play, Skips
in the Record, about a family coping with Alzheimer’s Disease. The goal was
to develop the Skips in the Record script in a workshop and present staged
reading performances to the community at large with a Folk-thought at the
end of the residency. It was a successful collaboration with a standing room
only audience for Folk Thought.
Providence Public School Department, Artist-In-Residence 1996-1998
Provided lecture-demonstrations; utilized original dramatic vignettes,
costumes, props, jazz, blues, and prose to encourage self-esteem, build
community awareness; theatre appreciation in young people. Visited twenty

Rhode Island College Department of Music, Theatre and Dance
Assistant Professor of Theatre – Full-time one year replacement
for Chair 2004-2005
Taught eight courses, maintained regular office hours, coached
students on individual basis, coordinated off-campus theatre excursions
and guest speakers. Courses based on Stanislavski System and proponents
of “the method” including:
Character Study: Developed syllabus that included cross-cultural texts;
taught complex and eccentric characterizations with an emphasis on
transformation as a character style; taught characterization from the point
of view of autobiography, physicality, vocal characterization, objectives,
motivation, subtext, beats, transitions, energy. Study based on
Stanislavski System and proponent of the method, Stella Adler.
Beginning Directing: Taught script analysis and the five major
fundamentals of play directing: composition, picturization, movement,
rhythm and pantomimic dramatization; basic play interpretation, casting,
