This document summarizes a presentation about running microservices in production with IBM. It discusses that while simply running a microservice in a container can seem easy, there are many other factors to consider for production including orchestration, availability, security, monitoring and logging. It then outlines IBM's managed Kubernetes offerings of IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service (IKS) and IBM Cloud Private (ICP) which help address these challenges. The presentation demonstrates deploying an application automated on IKS with IBM Cloud Toolchain and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
