Social entrepreneurship has lately been a buzzword lately to many industries. But good enough, entrepreneurs and organizations have shown that the purpose and profit do not add up to mutual exclusiveness but instead mutually beneficial. Hopefully, this way of business will become the routine for most organizations and industries. The primary objective the social enterprise is to spot a need in the society and find possible solutions to the problem identified. Most problems have a social origin or purpose. A social entrepreneur should balance properly the profit and use. The project should be done in a smart way to avoid any loss. The enterprise’s profit should support the purpose of the project.
In the contemporary society, there are issues which affect the people living within. This includes social problems with unmet needs. The primary aim of this project is to solve the social problems affecting the youths in the society in a negative way. Among the most hit in the community are the low-income earners and the youth. This affects the greater population in the community. The project concept was to engage the youth to participate in free soccer games and other different projects within the community. This was to reduce the rates of youth dropping out of school, using drugs, engaging in early sex and involving themselves with criminal gangs. Also considering the level of idleness among the poor, there are very high chances of developing stress.
Since the whole idea is to come up with a service that acts as a reward, the approach is non profitable. The soccer field project was entirely a non-profit organization. The utilization of the facility was an opportunity given to all the youths to exercise social cause. Hence, access to the service was entirely free to the target groups. This should be achievable by cooperating with the sponsors to freely provide the service free of cost. The target groups are the youths and the low-income earners. Anybody falling under the category has the right the mandate to access the soccer field any time. Any revenue earned to be used in developing the field to be fit for best services. This is pictured to bring the best impact on the outcome of the target group’s lives apart from making the place a better place.
The soccer field will be mainly dedicated to its main objective. This is to reach to all the low- income members and the young persons. As this will offer the people a way to enjoy and spend their free time. The venture also aims at promoting healthy living among the youths and people who cannot afford the gym membership. The project’s Mission Statement will be, “The soccer field project is a non-prof ...

The world vision
The world vision in its mission to providing for the needs of orphaned children and the less fortunate in the world especially the developing countries has been faced by some problems. The sponsorship of some children is sometimes falsified and it is always based on false information that may be provided to the sponsor. This shows that the sponsors are sometimes made to believe that there contribution is being given directly to the children under sponsorship yet the funds are for the whole community. Corruption at local levels is also a problem to the world vision because most of the funds that are supposed to help the poor are diverted and given to those who are able due to corruption hence it seizes to be beneficial to the targeted group. Political conflicts also affect the world vision, the procedures are sometimes not followed and therefore aid is given to some people who can be felt to be of benefit to a particular person or group of persons (Roth, 2015).
These problems are caused by increased poverty especially in developing countries and people work not to benefit the community but to benefit themselves. Greed is another cause to the problem where an individual cannot be contented with what he or she receives from servicing. Lack of knowledge and awareness of community is another reason that makes the organization staff not to fear providing false information because the community members can rarely defend themselves. Mostly the organization staff is the one that causes the problems by exaggerating or falsifying information. In order to solve this problem the world vision should at least ensure that the living condition of the staff providing service to the community is good to avoid temptation of using the fund. The community should also be taught about the organization and its importance to the community. There should be frequent communication between the sponsors and sponsored to ensure that funds are used as expected (Roth, 2015).
The Pepsi Company
The major problem that Pepsi faces is competition from Coca-Cola Company which happens to produce almost the same type of product as Pepsi. The company is also facing a problem I the decli9nng soda consumption. This is due to the health implications that the beverage has more of carbonate which results to obese. The consumers tend to go for the less fat and less or no calorie products and this is the cause to their problem. Competition lessens profit when some consumers prefer the product of the competitor hence it reduces the productivity of the company. Losses are as well realized when consumers prefer other product to the ones produced by the Pepsi company hence the main objective of the company is violated are tends to be void (Louw, 2012)
The competition problem can be solved by the company being innovative and coming up with marketing strategies that is effective to the company. Strategies such as advertising and enhancing supply methods to ensure that produc ...

“Most people want to do good, and believe that doing so will ultimately benefit everyone, including a company’s shareholders. But what’s been missing in recent decades is a clear compass to guide those in leading positions in our society and economy,” ~ Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Imagine being a consumer, you walk into two different shops looking for a new pair of shoes. One is a traditional retail shop, the other one, as you walked in, a simple signboard caught your attention stating that “for every pair of shoes you bought, we will donate another pair to those who need it.” Which shop will you end up purchasing the shoes from if the quality and pricing are more or less the same?
“Charity is no solution to poverty. Charity only perpetuates poverty by taking the initiative away from the poor. We can create a poverty-free world because poverty is not created by poor people. It has been created and sustained by the economic and social systems that we have designed for ourselves; the institutions and concepts that make up that system; the policies that we pursue. You change the system and people get out of poverty. It is the ability to control capital that gives people the power to rise out of poverty.” ~ Muhammad Yunus, Banker to the Poor: Micro-Lending and the Battle Against World Poverty

The questions posed in this short presentation are ‘How can countries make better use of ODA’? And ‘can ODA also go for much needed sustainable projects?’ With the new set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals we (the world) will have to focus among other things on more on transparency and effectiveness. This artifact specifically made for the World bank Group Financing 4 Development MOOC is for all audiences and the information provided can be applied by many countries and could hopefully make a difference in outcomes.
You have helped your clients see themselves and their families in a new light as economic actors. You can do the same for their lives as civic actors. The nations of the world have agreed to the Sustainable Development Goals, goals such as eradicating extreme poverty, eliminating preventable child deaths, and ensuring all children complete secondary school all by 2030. In this training you will learn how to empower your clients to use their voices as citizens on issues that matter in their lives, the lives of community members, and across their nation. By helping clients influence village leaders and members of Parliament through advocacy, we will make the SDGs real.

The description of the grant to be used in this paper includes the promotion and foster of community partnerships to reduce homelessness in various communities. In essence, the project is intended to engage both provincial and territorial government levels to join the effort of aligning homelessness investments and priorities with the ultimate goals and objectives to prevent and reduce the aspect of homelessness especially in many youths (Forchuk, 2018). To elaborate, the grant is a unique program based on community affairs with the ultimate goals of eliminating if not reducing homelessness issues within various communities. Moreover, the project is aimed to accomplish this by encouraging funders to directly provide their support and funds to about sixty designated communities across all territories and provinces that are possible to reach. The most appropriate hyperlink for identifying RFP is: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6054288/
One of the significant factors that make this grant to be worth and for one to gain the confidant of pursuing it is the fact that it has been witnessed working for other countries. For instance, the grant was implemented in Canada in 2011, where it served over three hundred projects and managed to raise over fifty-five million Canadian dollars. The funds were well utilized by focusing them on, especially youth and young adults of age fifteen to twenty-eight. Based on that, it is a potential grant that I believe if well managed it is worth to take the risk as it guarantees the reduction of homelessness.
For evaluation purposes, several questions were identified to assess whether the grant was aligned with the objectives and goals of eliminating or reducing the aspect homelessness in various communities within the country. Furthermore, there were designed questions that aimed at assessing the progress of the program in its implementation including coordination, communication, reporting, adherence to housing first principles, monitoring as well as an assessment of early outcomes of the grant.
In accomplishing all the necessary criteria that were required by the project, I utilized Bing as my search engine for the task.
The goals and objectives of the selected funding agency are to ensure that it provides all the necessary resources that can enable the non-profitable organizations with its purposes of fulfilling the intended impact towards the communities concerned. Besides, the agency is aimed at addressing the essential issues relating to homelessness of especially youths and young adults within different communities.

Elementary Curricula
Both articles highlight the fact that middle-class students seem to benefit more from summer reading programs than their lower-SES peers. While we would hope that summer reading programs would have the same positive impact on all students, this information did not totally surprise me. Differences in funding, materials, and ability to recruit enough high-quality teachers for summer programs could be more difficult in lower-socioeconomic areas. In addition, the articles did not dive into other factors in the students’ lives that may be contributing to their performance such as attendance, how well-rested they are, trauma they have experiences that impacts their ability to focus during instruction, and the impact of being taught by a teacher who the students may not know or have a relationship with. Additionally, there could be a mismatch between the instructional practices and the specific needs of the students. Even though summer reading programs are only for a short time, I would challenge teachers to put energy into getting to know the students and building trust with them. This is a key foundation that is needed for learning to take place.
In challenging teachers during summer program and the regular school year to ”break out of the mold” to create better outcomes for students classified with low SES, in addition to building relationships with students, I would encourage them to build connections with their families. This may involve thinking outside the box and leaving their comfort zone. It could entail holding a parent-teacher conference off campus, closer to their home or in their community. It could also include providing resources and instructional videos to parents so they can help support their children at home. There are many parents who want to support their children academically, but they do not know how and may be uncomfortable asking the teacher for assistance. In addition, I would urge teachers to capitalize on the strengths and interests of their students to engage them in learning activities and provide them with opportunities to shine. We do not have to, and should not, be satisfied with the idea that low SES students will automatically not be able to perform. These students are capable of learning and growth just as much as any other student. I think data from test scores that demonstrate a gap between the performance of students classified as economically disadvantaged and not economically disadvantaged has led some people to hold the belief that students classified as low SES will not perform well. I think the way that school “report card” grades are published also perpetuates this belief, as it shows the test scores, but does not provide an explanation of or include any solutions for the many larger societal factors that contribute to those scores including high teacher turn over, lack of resources, child trauma, lack of sleep, lack of nutrition, crime & safety, and education level of parents.

Elevated Blood Lead Levels in Children Associated
With the Flint Drinking Water Crisis: A Spatial
Analysis of Risk and Public Health Response
Mona Hanna-Attisha, MD, MPH, Jenny LaChance, MS, Richard Casey Sadler, PhD, and Allison Champney Schnepp, MD
Objectives. We analyzed differences in pediatric elevated blood lead level incidence
before and after Flint, Michigan, introduced a more corrosive water source into an aging
water system without adequate corrosion control.
Methods. We reviewed blood lead levels for children younger than 5 years before
(2013) and after (2015) water source change in Greater Flint, Michigan. We assessed the
percentage of elevated blood lead levels in both time periods, and identified geo-
graphical locations through spatial analysis.
Results. Incidence of elevated blood lead levels increased from 2.4% to 4.9% (P < .05)
after water source change, and neighborhoods with the highest water lead levels ex-
perienced a 6.6% increase. No significant change was seen outside the city. Geospatial
analysis identified disadvantaged neighborhoods as having the greatest elevated blood
lead level increases and informed response prioritization during the now-declared public
health emergency.
Conclusions. The percentage of children with elevated blood lead levels increased
after water source change, particularly in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighbor-
hoods. Water is a growing source of childhood lead exposure because of aging infra-
structure. (Am J Public Health. 2016;106:283–290. doi:10.2105/AJPH.2015.303003)

In April 2014, the postindustrial city ofFlint, Michigan, under state-appointed
emergency management, changed its water
supply from Detroit-supplied Lake Huron
water to the Flint River as a temporary
measure, awaiting a new pipeline to Lake
Huron in 2016. Intended to save money, the
change in source water severed a half-
century relationship with the Detroit Water
and Sewage Department. Shortly after the
switch to Flint River water, residents voiced
concerns regarding water color, taste, and
odor, and various health complaints in-
cluding skin rashes.1 Bacteria, including
Escherichia coli, were detected in the distri-
bution system, resulting in Safe Drinking
Water Act violations.2 Additional disinfec-
tion to control bacteria spurred formation of
disinfection byproducts including total tri-
halomethanes, resulting in Safe Drinking
Water Act violations for trihalomethane
levels.2
Water from the Detroit Water and
Sewage Department had very low corrosivity
for lead as indicated by low chloride, low
chloride-to-sulfate mass ratio, and presence
of an orthophosphate corrosion inhibitor.3,4
By contrast, Flint River water had high
chloride, high chloride-to-sulfate mass ratio,
and no corrosion inhibitor.5 Switching
from Detroit’s Lake Huron to Flint River
water created a perfect storm for lead leach-
ing into drinking water.6 The aging Flint
water distribution system contains a hig.

Elements of the Communication Process
In Chapter One, we learned communication is the process of creating or sharing meaning in informal conversation, group interaction, or public speaking. To understand how the process works, we described the essential elements in the process.
For the following interaction, identify the contexts, participants, channels. message, interference (noise), and feedback.
"Maria and Damien are meandering through the park, talking and drinking bottled water. Damien finishes his bottle, replaces the lid, and tosses the bottle into the bushes at the side of the path. Maria, who has been listening to Damien talk, comes to a stop, puts her hand on her hips, stares at Damien, and says angrily, " I can't believe what you just did! Damien blushes, averts his gaze, and mumbles, "Sorry, I'll get it- I just wasn't thinking." As the tension drains from Maria's face. she gives her head a playful toss, smiles, and says, Well, just see that it doesn't happen again.

Version 1.1 of this Cybersecurity Framework refines, clarifies, and enhances Version 1.0, which
was issued in February 2014. It incorporates comments received on the two drafts of Version 1.1.
Version 1.1 is intended to be implemented by first-time and current Framework users. Current
users should be able to implement Version 1.1 with minimal or no disruption; compatibility with
Version 1.0 has been an explicit objective.
The following table summarizes the changes made between Version 1.0 and Version 1.1.

Elements of DesignDuring the process of envisioning and designing .docxtoltonkendal
Elements of Design
During the process of envisioning and designing a film, the director, production designer, and art director (in collaboration with the cinematographer) are concerned with several major spatial and temporal elements. These design elements punctuate and underscore the movement of figures within the frame, including the following: setting, lighting, costuming, makeup, and hairstyles. Choose a scene from movieclips.com. In a three to five page paper, (excluding the cover and reference pages) analyze the mise-en-scène.
Respond to the following prompts with at least one paragraph per bulleted topic:
Identify the names of the artists involved in the film’s production: the director, the production designer, and the art director. Describe in separate paragraphs each artist’s role in the overall design process. Conduct additional research if necessary, citing your book, film, and other external sources correctly in APA format.
Explain how the artists utilize lighting in the scene. How does the lighting affect our emotional understanding of certain characters? What sort of mood does the lighting evoke? How does lighting impact the overall story the filmmaker is attempting to tell?
Describe the setting, including the time period, location, and culture in which the film takes place.
Explain what costuming can tell us about a character. In what ways can costuming be used to reflect elements of the film's plot?
Explain how hairstyle and makeup can help tell the story. What might hairstyle and makeup reveal about the characters?
Discuss your opinion regarding the mise-en-scène. Do the elements appear to work together in a harmonious way? Does the scene seem discordant? Do you think the design elements are congruent with the filmmaker’s vision for the scene?

Objectives
This chapter introduces the analysis of the time response of different
control systems under different scenarios. Only first and second order
systems will be considered in details using analytical and numerical
methods. Extension to higher order systems will be developed. Both
transient and steady state responses will be evaluated. Stability analysis
will be analyzed for different kinds of feedback, while investigating the
effect of both proportional and derivative control actions on the
performance of the closed-loop system. Finally systems types and
steady state errors will be calculated for unity feedback.
Outcomes
By the end of this chapter, students will be able to:
evaluate both transient/steady state responses for control systems,
analyze the stability of closed-loop LTI systems,
investigate the effect of P and I control actions on performance, and
understand dominant dynamics of higher order systems.

Greenland Garden Centre
[1]
Jon Smith spread his arms widely as he surveyed his garden centre.
‘Of course the whole market for leisure products and services, especially garden-related products, has been expanding over the last few years. Even so, we have been particularly successful. Partly this is because we are conveniently located, but it is also because we have developed a reputation for excellent service. Customers like coming to us for advice. We have also been successful in attracting some of the ‘personality gardeners’ from television to make special appearances. My main ambition now is to fully develop all of our twelve hectares to make the centre a place people will want to visit in its own right. I envisage the centre developing into almost a mini gardening theme park with special gardens, beautiful grounds and special events.’
Greenland is a large village situated in the Cotswolds, a popular tourist area of the UK. It has an interesting range of shops and restaurants, mainly catering for the tourist trade. About half a mile outside the village is the Greenland Garden Centre. The garden centre is served by a good network of main roads but is inaccessible by public transport.
Growth over the last five years has been dramatic and the garden centre now sells many other goods as well as gardening requisites. It also has a restaurant. It is open seven days a week, only closing on Christmas Day. Its opening hours are Monday– Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all year round.
Outside the centre
The centre has a large car park which can accommodate about 350 cars. Outside the entrance a map indicates the various areas in the garden centre. Most customers walk round the grounds before making their purchases. The length of time people spend in the centre varies but, according to a recent study, averages 53 minutes during the week and 73 minutes at weekends.
The same study shows the extent to which the number of customers arriving at the garden centre varies depending on the time of year, day of the week, and time of day. There are two peaks in customer numbers, one during the late spring/early summer period and another in the build up to Christmas, as Greenland puts on particularly good Christmas displays.
Indoor sales area
The range of goods has increased dramatically over the past few years and now includes items such as:
pets and aquatics
seeds
fertilisers
indoor pots and plants
gardening equipment
garden lighting
conservatory-style furniture
outdoor clothing
picture gallery
books and toys
delicatessen
wine
kitchen equipment
soft furnishing
outdoor eating equipment
gifts, stationery, cards, aromatherapy products

LAB 4: CONVOLUTION
Background & Concepts
Convolution is denoted by:
𝑦[𝑛] = 𝑥[𝑛] ∗ ℎ[𝑛]
Your book has described the "flip and shift" method for performing convolution. First, we
set up two signals 𝑥[𝑘] and ℎ[𝑘]:
Flip one of the signals, say ℎ[𝑘], to form ℎ[−𝑘]:
ELEG 320L – Signals & Systems Laboratory /Dr. Jibran Khan Yousafzai Lab 4
2
Shift ℎ[−𝑘] by n to form ℎ[𝑛 − 𝑘]. For each value of 𝑛, form 𝑦[𝑛] by multiplying and
summing all the element of the product of𝑥[𝑘]ℎ[𝑛 − 𝑘], −∞ < 𝑘 < ∞. The figure
below shows an example of the calculation of𝑦[1]. The top panel shows𝑥[𝑘]. The
middle panel showsℎ[1 − 𝑘]. The lower panel shows𝑥[𝑘]𝑦[1 − 𝑘]. Note that this is a
sequence on a 𝑘 axis. The sum of the lower sequence over all k gives 𝑦[1] = 2.
We repeat this shifting, multiplication and summing for all values of 𝑛 to get the
complete sequence 𝑦[𝑛]:
ELEG 320L – Signals & Systems Laboratory /Dr. Jibran Khan Yousafzai Lab 4
3
The conv Command
conv(x,h) performs a 1-D convolution of vectors 𝑥 and ℎ. The resulting vector 𝑦
has length length(𝑦) = length(𝑥) + length(ℎ) − 1. Imagine vector 𝑥 as being
stationary and the flipped version of ℎ is slid from left to right. Note that conv(x,h) =
conv(h,x). An example of the convolution of two signals and plotting the result is
below:
>> x = [0.5 0.5 0.5]; %define input signal x[n]
>> h = [3.0 2.0 1.0]; %unit-pulse response h[n]
>> y = conv(x,h); %compute output y[n] via convolution
>> n = 0:(length(y)-1); %for plotting y[n]
>> stem(n,y) % plot y[n]

Deconvolution
The command [q,r] = deconv(v,u), deconvolves vector u out of vector v, using long
division. The quotient is returned in vector q and the remainder in vector r such that
v = conv(u,q)+r. If u and v are vectors of polynomial coefficients, convolving them is
equivalent to multiplying the two polynomials, and deconvolution is polynomial
division. The result of dividing v by u is quotient q and remainder r. An examples is
below:
If
>> u = [1 2 3 4];
>> v = [10 20 30];
The convolution is:
>> c = conv(u,v)
c =
10 40 100 160 170 120
Use deconvolution to recover v.
>> [q,r] = deconv(c,u)

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROJECT

Social entrepreneurship project
[Name]
[Institution Affiliation]
[Author Note]
Social entrepreneurship has lately been a buzzword lately to
many industries. But good enough, entrepreneurs and
organizations have shown that the purpose and profit do not add
up to mutual exclusiveness but instead mutually beneficial.
Hopefully, this way of business will become the routine for
most organizations and industries. The primary objective the
social enterprise is to spot a need in the society and find
possible solutions to the problem identified. Most problems
have a social origin or purpose. A social entrepreneur should
balance properly the profit and use. The project should be done
in a smart way to avoid any loss. The enterprise’s profit should
2. support the purpose of the project.
In the contemporary society, there are issues which affect the
people living within. This includes social problems with unmet
needs. The primary aim of this project is to solve the social
problems affecting the youths in the society in a negative way.
Among the most hit in the community are the low-income
earners and the youth. This affects the greater population in the
community. The project concept was to engage the youth to
participate in free soccer games and other different projects
within the community. This was to reduce the rates of youth
dropping out of school, using drugs, engaging in early sex and
involving themselves with criminal gangs. Also considering the
level of idleness among the poor, there are very high chances of
developing stress.
Since the whole idea is to come up with a service that acts as a
reward, the approach is non profitable. The soccer field project
was entirely a non-profit organization. The utilization of the
facility was an opportunity given to all the youths to exercise
social cause. Hence, access to the service was entirely free to
the target groups. This should be achievable by cooperating
with the sponsors to freely provide the service free of cost. The
target groups are the youths and the low-income earners.
Anybody falling under the category has the right the mandate to
access the soccer field any time. Any revenue earned to be used
in developing the field to be fit for best services. This is
pictured to bring the best impact on the outcome of the target
group’s lives apart from making the place a better place.
The soccer field will be mainly dedicated to its main objective.
This is to reach to all the low- income members and the young
persons. As this will offer the people a way to enjoy and spend
their free time. The venture also aims at promoting healthy
living among the youths and people who cannot afford the gym
membership. The project’s Mission Statement will be, “The
soccer field project is a non-profit organization for the low-
income population and the youths in the community. The project
believes that the youths are the future of our society and
3. creating the values of commitment, teamwork and responsibility
will make them successful. The organization also strives to
improve the lives of the poor people. Our services will create a
stronger and a safer community for all.”
The target market enables an organization to concentrate its
efforts on a group of people are likely to benefit from an
individual product or service (Ziegler, 2009). The pan mainly
focuses on two groups, the youths and those people who are less
fortunate in the community.
The food program is also the core mission. Its main aim is to
eradicate hunger in the Bullock County by persistently bringing
about; growing and packaging food to ensure self-reliance
among the people. The packaged food is then distributed
through agencies and programs to ensure self-reliance. Since
food is the most squandered resource on the planet, need to
develop food bank is the best program.
Three main strategic resources will be used to execute the
program. Among them is the Human resource. This will mainly
engage employees who are at our disposal. The management
team will recruit and manage employees. Through this human
resource management, the staff will provide the program with
the competitive advantage to thrive. The funds will be used in
the production of goods for purchase of vehicles and equipment
to be used. . Thus, the land will be used by the youth to
facilitate the farm project.
In executing the project partnership program will highly matter
to the success of the project. This will include agencies and
programs like credit unions and banks. They will highly help
through money donations and help a lot in partnering food
vendors, wholesalers, and manufacturers who contribute foods.
Since nearly 20% of Bullock County are qualified for help
through Food Bank Program. This will be of great help to those
families who find it hard to put food on the table, and low-
income earners since they will because they will be assisted by
this initiative program. Almost half of the population to be
served is children and while nearly one-fifth are senior citizens.
4. In the beneficiary families, there is, at least, one individual
working (Edge 2014).
The Food Bank Program accumulates food in the central
warehouses in the city of Union Springs and distributes the food
to charitable social service agencies and programs in Bullock
County. The majority of the food to be distributed is packaged
in emergency boxes. Persons or families are qualified to be
given up to 15 emergencies per year. Each package has a 2-5
day supply of high-quality food. The other part of the resources
will be devoted to providing food to domestic treatment
facilities, luncheon programs; youth service hubs, nurture
families, children's initiatives and much more.
Food Bank Program administration team comprise of a board of
directors and an executive director of the top management. The
program will also comprise five coordinators in the initial
management. They are volunteer coordinator; Supplies
coordinator; Dispersal coordinator; Warehouse Coordinator;
Youth Farm coordinator.
The future organization chart will assume the top management
structure with the addition of executive assistant. The other
positions will be created as in below
Funds play the most important role in a smooth running of the
whole organization. Financial resources are one of the most
significant elements of a project, as it will determine its success
or failure (Ziegler, 2009). Since the soccer we are given to the
target group through a non-profit organization, around 70% of
the revenue is from the donors. First the group will approach
the state and the federal government. Since both forms of
government have formulated various strategies for improving
the quality of life for the youths and the poor. Another donor
group who promised to contribute something are the religious
organizations in the area, academic institutions, and individuals
who believe in the mission of the soccer ground services.
In total donors contributes towards three-quarters quarters of
the total revenue to support the soccer field plan, but the rest
5. will come from the different fundraising event. For instance, a
raffle fundraising is a favorite activity as compared to other
fundraising strategies that will ensure the project gets finances.
Sports activity funded by politicians, private organizations,
well-wishers among others groups also act as good funding
sources. . The cash prizes won from such competitions will go a
long way to support the project. Additionally, holiday
fundraising events can raise enormous funds because most
people are willing to support community projects during major
holidays such as Christmas and Easter (Comolli & Etchart,
2013).
In food programs, we will constantly engage a Fundraising
campaign that wills emphasis on engaging the local banks and
credit unions to accumulate donations to combat hunger.
Normally, food collection starts in October and November. Food
Bank Program will have donation bins in partnering banks and
credit union. Additionally, consumers in local retail food stores
may contribute money to Food Bank Program at the checkout
zones.
This program will proceed to 2014-2015 205 calendar year will
oscillate based on different seasons. In the autumn season, the
program will undertake its main fundraiser. The summer
months are estimated to behaving weak food collection months.
A program listed will be employed in food bank programs
fundraising, Food Collection (FC) Fill the Bucket (FTB,) Food
Rescue Express (FRE) Gleaning Youth Farm (YF). Food bank
program will be funded from various sources of capital; this
will include public and private entities. The program will be
funded by contributions from ten distinct corporate donors, a
grant from a private charitable trust, and Bullock County. The
assumptions are displayed in the following table and chart
(Macleod, 2013). The score card should be balanced. This is to
help the project managers see the business from the four most
important perspectives. It is balanced purposely to link the
performance.
6. Financial prospective

Exploring new targets

Funds
At the end the project should measure the success by identifying
some indicators. This is by identifying many youths playing on
the ground and poor people. Food should also be available in
surplus on the food banks. After noting all this, then definitely
stress on people is reducing as well as hunger. At this point the
project will continue to expand to serve many people and offer
more benefits to the community.

Company Background
Kobyashi Maru Pet Food USA, Limited is a subsidiary of a
Chinese company and is preparing to issue an audit report,
completed by your independent audit team, covering
comparative balance sheets as of December 31, 2006 and 2005,
and the income statements, statements of owners’ equity and
cash flow statements for the three years ended on December 31,
2006.
The Company’s common stock is traded on the New York Stock
Exchange and the Chinese Exchange.
Each of the following sets of facts is an INDEPENDENT audit
reporting scenario and should be addressed separately of the
others. You will address each scenario in an APA style
research paper that also will address the reporting inaccuracies
that differing international accounting standards create. You
will combine your findings into a comprehensive research
document of 3-5 pages excluding title page and references.
Detailed analysis is necessary as are references for your
conclusions.
Segment Reporting
Kobyashi Moru Pet Food, USA Limited, (hereinafter called
8. Kobyashi Moru) does not disclose segment information for its
various divisions and profit centers because Chinese accounting
standards do not require it. The Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) does not require such disclosures or
reporting delineations in required SEC filings for foreign
issuers of stock or securities.
Indicate the effect of the above cited differences on your audit
report that will be widely used by stakeholders and potential
stakeholders in the United States.
Explanatory and Opinion Paragraphs
Kobyashi Moru reports its inventory, fixed assets, depreciation
and cost of goods sold on a current value basis (fair market
value on the date of the financial statements).
Such accounting violates the cost principle of US GAAP. There
is a disclosure of the pertinent facts stating this in a footnote on
the key financial statements.
What factors as the auditor of record, should you consider in
deciding whether to issue a qualified or an adverse opinion in
your final audit report?
Draft the appropriate language, using text and scholarly
research references for the explanatory and opinion paragraphs
for:
a) A qualified opinion
b) An adverse opinion
Financial Statements Prepared using Chinese and GAAP
Standards
Kobyashi Moru prepares two sets of financial statements; one
9. set using Chinese standards and GAAP (as meager as those
standards may be) and the other for use in the US attempting to
conform to US GAAP. The Chinese financials contain a single
footnote describing the accounting principles used in the
original books of entry.
How should you report on these two sets of statements in your
final audit report?
Effect of Foreign Accounting Standards
In the preceding independent scenarios and research, you will
have found significant conflicting issues between global
reporting standards that will affect every audit engagement that
addresses books of original entry that utilize foreign GAAP that
are translated into financial statements. Your previous
coursework has taught you that in order for stakeholders to
accurately address financial performance metrics, they have to
be based on standards that are consistent and that follow US
GAAP rules.
Comparative analyses can only take place in an environment of
stable, static and consistent rules.
Social Entrepreneurship Proposal
10. Core Mission
The mission of Food Bank Program is to relieve hunger in
Bullock County by soliciting, collecting, growing, and packing
food to distribute through a network of agencies and programs
and ensure self-reliance. Services of the project include food
programs, emergency housing, meal sites for congregate,
domestic treatment services, and children's initiatives.
Strategic Resources
Food Bank Program will use three main strategic resources;
Human Resources
Human resources simply incorporate all the employees that will
be at our disposal. The right team of staff will provide the
program with the competitive advantage needed to thrive. The
management will manage their human resources, through
recruiting the needed type of employees by staff retention.
Capital Resources
Capital resources are the resources we will use in the
production of goods like collection vehicles and equipment.
Capital resources will be expensive and time-consuming to
acquire.
Natural Resources
Natural resources are those that are naturally provided by the
environment; for this case, the land will be integral to the youth
farm project. We will take advantage of the tracks of land in
Bullock County.
Partnership Network
The partnership network includes agencies and programs such
as; local banks and credit unions who help to collect money
donations and actively involves partnering food vendors,
wholesalers, and manufacturers who contribute foods.
Service Interface
11. Nearly 20% of Bullock County residents are qualified for help
through Food Bank Program. Low-income citizen, more so
families, who want emergency intervention to put food on the
table will be assisted by this proposed initiative. Almost half of
the populace to be served are children and while almost one-
fifth are senior citizens. In the beneficiary families, there is, at
least, one individual working (Edge, 2014).
Food Bank Program accumulate food in the central warehouse
in the city of Union Springs and distribute the food to charitable
social service agencies and programs in Bullock County.
Majority of the food to be distributed is packaged in emergency
boxes. Persons or families are qualified to be given up to 15
emergency per year. Each package have a 2-5 day supply of
high-quality food. The other part of the resources will be
devoted to provide food to domestic treatment facilities,
luncheon programs, youth service hubs, nurture families,
children's initiatives and much more.
Organization Chart – Initial

directors and an executive director of the top management. The
program will also comprise five coordinators in the initial
management.
1. Volunteer coordinator;
2. Supplies coordinator;
3. Dispersal coordinator;
4. Warehouse coordinator;
5. Youth farm coordinator.
Organization Chart – Proposed Future
The future organization chart will assume a different structure
with only the top management remaining with the addition of an
executive assistant. Other positions will be created as below.
Survey
Food Bank Program is a food bank serving Bullock County,
12. Albania. The program's emphasis is to find and exploit
resources for food in the county so that they can reduce hunger
amongst low-income residents and precisely families in the
region. The program will undertake the following;
1. Solicit and dispense food to community agencies.
2. Operates a youth farm project for young residents.
The population base for Bullock County is 587,200. Roughly
17% of the county's population is considered as low-income.
This denotes 120,000 residents who are potential beneficiaries
of services from Food Bank Program.
Children denote 47% of the county inhabitants who needs Food
Bank Program services. The program has recognized children
and their households as the main target consumers. It is
estimated that low-income number of children will go up in
Bullock County by 18% in the next five years. By 2020,
children will represent 55% of Food Bank Program's consumer
base (CG, 2015). With good involvement, the debilitation
impact of hunger can be eradicated. Subsequently, the residents
will be in a better position to successfully provide for their
children.
Budget – 12 Month & All Sub Detail
Fundraiser Plan (detailed)
Food Bank Program will instantly embark on a Fundraising
campaign that will emphasis on engaging the local banks and
credit unions to accumulate donations to combat hunger.
Normally, food collection starts in October and November. Food
Bank Program will have donation bins in partnering banks and
credit union. Additionally, consumers in local retail food stores
may contribute money to Food Bank Program at the checkout
zones.
Food Bank Program's monthly proceeds for the 2014-205
calendar year will oscillate based on different seasons. In the
autumn season, the program will undertake its main fundraiser.
The summer months are estimated to be having weak food
collection months.
13. The list below shows Food Bank Program's fundraising and food
soliciting programs:
1. Food Collection (FC)
Partnering vendors, wholesalers, and manufacturers will donate
food stuff. These contributors will contribute donations on a
monthly basis.
2. Fill the Bucket (FTB)
Each autumn season, Food Bank Program will drive a fundraiser
via local banks and credit union. Small bins in the shape of
bigger versions of Food Bank Program food bins will be
positioned at the counter of every teller.
3. Food Rescue Express (FRE)
Food Bank Program will assemble donated food from local
cafeterias to be instantly dispersed to programs in the region
that will, in turn, disseminate the food to their customers.
4. Gleaning
Harvest remains and unsold produce from farmers' grounds will
be collected by Food Bank Program associates. Each year
thousands of kilograms of fresh fruit and vegetables are
abandoned to rot or get plowed under the field. Gleaning will
minimize waste while nourishing people. Food Bank Program
will essentially recruit gleaning teams from the local support
program.
5. Youth Farm (YF)
The youth farm uses children in digression program or local
program to cater for "at risk" children to offer a learning
environment that make these children’s’ life turn around. The
harvest will be sold by the youth farm team members at an on-
site produce store. All revenues will be used to support Food
Bank Program programs.
Food Bank Program's start-up cost stand at $200,000. A big
percentage of the cost is contributed trucks and food collection
vehicles, as well as a storage warehouse facilities. The
remaining portion incorporates the expenses generally related to
opening an office. The program will be funded by contributions
14. from ten distinct corporate donors, a grant from a private
charitable trust, and Bullock County. The assumptions are
shown in the following table and chart (Macleod, 2013).
Government Grants to Pursue
Food Bank Program will be funded from different and various
sources of capital. This will include public and private entities.
There is the anticipation that funding will upsurge in the next
five years. The executive director and the board of directors are
the responsible heads in reviewing the program expenses and
making alteration to ensure the program solvency. Government
grants to pursue in the initial phase will include Bullock County
social kitty allocation (Svala, 2006).

15. Social Entrepreneurship
Start-up Concept
The proposed project intends to solve some social problems in
the community thus fulfilling unmet needs. In the contemporary
world, various issues are affecting the society in a negative
way. The youths, as well as the low-income people, are the most
affected. For instance, some young people drop out of school,
abuse drugs, engage in premarital sex or form criminal gangs
(Comolli & Etchart, 2013). As a result, most end up in prison,
have unwanted pregnancies or fail in life. Equally, the poor
people are likely to have high levels of stress because of
problems. Furthermore, they can also engage in some of the
activities mentioned above. The concept of reducing these
social issues is an opportunity for starting the free soccer field.
There are also very few projects in the community that serve the
same purpose as the one the soccer field intends to do.
Approach a Non-profit
The development of the concept involves creating a service that
will act as a social reward. The concept of the soccer field will
push through a non-profit organization. The idea is to utilize the
opportunity to achieve a social cause instead of earning profits.
For that reason, access to the soccer field will not cost the
target groups any money. The organization will cooperate with
interested sponsors to provide the service free to the low-
income persons and the young individuals. So long as a person
falls into the category of the target group, he or she can access
the soccer grounds any time of the day. In addition, if the
organization ever gets any revenue, the proceeds will develop
16. the soccer ground for better services. The service will strive to
involve as many young and poor people as possible to make the
society a better place to live.
Mission and Mission Statement
The soccer field project will strive to transform the society by
reaching to the low-income members and the young persons. As
such, it will offer this group of individuals as a way of spending
their free time. It will encourage teamwork and commitment by
creating friendships through soccer. The venture also aims at
promoting healthy living among the youths and people who
cannot afford the gym membership. According to Comolli and
Etchart (2013), self-worth and dignity are essential elements of
a quality life and the project will create such an opportunity for
the vulnerable people.
Mission Statement
“The soccer field project is a non-profit organization for the
low-income population and the youths in the community. The
project believes that the youths are the future of our society and
creating the values of commitment, teamwork and responsibility
will make them successful. The organization also strives to
improve the lives of the poor people. Our services will create a
stronger and a safer community for all.”
Target Market
The target market enables an organization to concentrate its
efforts on a group of people are likely to benefit from an
individual product or service (Ziegler, 2009). The plan aims at
focusing on two groups of people: the youths and the less
fortunate members of the community. A majority of the youths
are likely to involve themselves in negative activities such as
drug abuse and gangs. Moreover, some of them still depend on
their parents for money to spend on co-curriculum activities.
Therefore, the soccer field will ensure the youths in the
surrounding areas spend their leisure time playing soccer. The
second category of the target market is the low-income
individuals. This group does not have enough money to access
soccer fields. As such, providing them with a free soccer field
17. will assist them in participating in a healthy activity to reduce
stress.
Key Donor Groups
Financial resources are one of the most significant elements of a
project, as it will determine its success or failure (Ziegler,
2009). Since the soccer ground services will be offered to the
target group through a non-profit organization, around 70% of
the revenue is from the donors. Firstly, the organizers of the
project intend to approach the state and the federal
governments. Both forms of governments have adopted various
strategies for improving the quality of life for the youths and
the poor. As such, the soccer field projects is one of the
strategies of fulfilling the government’s policies. The other
donor group is the religious organizations in the area. Some
churches have pledged to contribute a substantial amount of
financial resources to the cause. A few business groups will also
donate funds to the project as part of their corporate social
responsibility. Moreover, since academic institutions are
unable to provide playing grounds for all members of the
society, some of them have promised to fund the project. Lastly,
the project expects to receive some donations from individuals
who believe in the mission of the soccer ground services.
Key Fundraising Activities
The donors contribute towards three-quarters of the total
revenue to support the soccer field plan, but the rest will come
from different fundraising events. For instance, a raffle
fundraising is a favorite activity as compared to other
fundraising strategies that will ensure the project gets finances.
The plan can work better if the local businesses donate some
raffle prizes. The other event is engaging in contests like sports
competition funded by politicians, private organizations, well-
wishers among other groups. The cash prizes won from such
competitions will go a long way to support the project.
Additionally, holiday fundraising events can raise enormous
funds because most people are willing to support community
projects during major holidays such as Christmas and Easter
18. (Comolli & Etchart, 2013).
Measuring Success
The aim of the soccer ground venture is to guarantee that the
youths and the low-income population participate in
constructive activities to reduce their chances of engaging in
dangerous activities. Consequently, the project will determine
its success by identifying some indications. Firstly, if there are
many youths and poor people playing soccer on the field, then it
means the venture is serving its purpose. Without a doubt,
