Listening to music Going to watch sporting events Officiating basketball Hanging out with friends and my kids
Rule #1 Be Responsible Be on time. Have all necessary materials. Especially writing utensil!!  Follow directions. Your actions are your own!!
Rule #2 BE RESPECTFUL Treat people the way you want to be treated. Agree to disagree. See each other’s point of view. Keep an open mind  It goes both ways!!
Rule #3 Use the bathroom only when necessary! Is it an emergency?  Do not disrupt class, wait for appropriate time to ask! Use bathroom near 7 th  grade hall only. (6 th  graders will use 6 th  grade rest room)
Rule # 4 No electronic devices No cell phones, ipods, mp3’s… nothing School Rule,  Not mine No warnings
Rule # 5 Miscellaneous Rules  You may not open the windows! At any time! You may not sit on the book shelves or window ledges  - EVER! You may not get on the computer before class for any reason.  If assigned a computer assignment you may NEVER play games “if you finish early!”  - You will lose computer privileges!
Lab Safety No goofing around… PERIOD! Stay with your partners/group Handle equipment with care Live animals need to be handled responsibly and appropriately ( 7 th Grade )
Classroom rules   Consequences  ( will go over in a minute) Entering and leaving the classroom  Lining up and Walking in line (7 th  Grade to and from Lunch) Giving attention on your signal ( 3-2-1 eyes on me) Sitting and listening during lessons  Raising hands
“Lets play Ball” The Strike System: 1. Strikes are earned for violation of any classroom or grade level rule or being in the “Strike Zone.” 2. Strikes do not carry over to other classes. 3. Three strikes equal one out. 4. Strikes are erased weekly. 5. Outs are erased monthly. The Strike Zone: Turned around in seat during class. Not seated at the beginning of class. Calling out / not waiting to speak. Talking when teacher – or another student is talking. Out of seat during teacher instruction.  Leaving seat too early at the end of class. Piggy Chewers. Conversations across the room. Volume of conversation. Laughter / reaction past the 30 second mark.
Let’s play Ball!! OUTS First out  – Lunch detention and call home.  Second out  – Lunch Detention and call home AND a completion of an action plan to identify specific ways to avoid behaviors leading to detention. Third out  –An office behavioral referral.
