Rotator cuff injuries are common shoulder injuries that can occur at any age. The rotator cuff is made up of four muscles that provide strength and stability to the shoulder joint. Injuries include tears, tendinitis, and impingement from overuse or trauma. Symptoms include shoulder pain that is worsened with movement, weakness, and limited range of motion. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging like MRI, and special tests. Treatment ranges from rest, physical therapy, corticosteroid injections, to surgical repair for severe tears.
