Prosumerism refers to consumers who also act as producers by creating or modifying products in innovative ways. With new technologies, consumers can customize products and create user-generated content outside of traditional economic systems. Napster and iTunes are examples of how prosumer activities with music moved between money and non-money economies. Microsoft also supported consumer innovation by offering help to Xbox users who improved on its motion control technology.
