• The role of students in developing a country is
huge. You can't expect a country to develop if it
doesn't have literate people. These students who
are studying would be working tomorrow. They
would be working for the public, private sector etc
. These students would be the pillars on which the
country would be standing on.
• So the role of students is like building blocks of
nation and if they are left unnoticed might cause
long term major problems for that country. So don't
underestimate a student today and a student won't
let you underestimated in future.
 The students of today are the future citizens of India.
They are the architects of free and modern India.
 On the shoulders of the students, a great responsibility
lies in building the country.
 In good old days, India had its own glory. The culture
and civilization of India was well known and well
recognized. India enjoyed an evitable position in the
world.
 However, the British rule crushed our economy and
degraded our social system. The glory of India was lost
due to foreign domination.
As children develop into young adults, they will face many challenges, in
their personal, educational and professional lives. Helping youth cope with
these challenges and providing them access to quality training programs is
one of the goals of the Outdoor Leadership Program organized by the
Youth and Sports portfolio of the Ismailia Council for Kenya.
The human and material resources required to sustain this programe
are critical to its success. These, together with external institutional
structures provide the catalyst for compounded growth and continuity. To
succeed in this form of programed development, progressive structures,
strong human resources, and being flexible in the face of change as better
ideas come onto the scene, are necessary requirements.
Change is more than just essential, it is vital to reflect our dynamic
world. To achieve its goals, the programe has to hold substance and be a
benefit to the youth it reaches. The content of the curriculum has to ignite
a passion. It has to inculcate positive attributes into the youth whilst
taking them outside their comfort zone. This progressive training helps to
shape essential ideals that instill qualities of leadership, physical
development, creativity, technical skills, outdoor education, social
responsibility, volunteerism and discipline.
The training is a build-up of experiences that get more challenging
as the individual gets older whilst at the same time being consistent
in their approach and their core messages. Mahmud Nanji, an
Outdoor Leadership instructor, and one of the youth who has
himself been through the Programe, commented that “this
consistency over time is what eventually develops the individuals
into confident, responsible leaders who will be better prepared not
only to serve communities but also to lead lives that are model
examples.”
The opportunities for grooming are numerous in the programs
provided by the Outdoor Leadership Programe. They are a chain of
little links of knowledge that become powerful tools of utilization.
Learning how to use a compass and knowing how to interpret a
map eventually lead to learning how to use it in the wilderness.
Going into the wilderness means knowing what to take with you
and knowing how to make travel arrangements. On getting there
one needs to know how to set up camp and cook a
Meal. It does not stop there: one needs to be socially responsible by ensuring the environment is
safeguarded with responsible techniques. Understanding weather patterns and predicting
precarious weather conditions are also important skills. Hiking through the wilderness is exerting
and also develops a person's physical endurance. Knowing the names of VARIOUS animals,
plants and birdlife develops creativity. Gazing at the constellations at nighttime's provokes
discussions of the stars an with it an understanding of astronomy. Climbing trees, ropes and
eventually rocks and mountains is not only a physical but also a technical skill. It requires a firm
knowledge of knots, safety and technique. It is an art that it perfected with consistency and
practice. What this ultimately does is make minds and bodies better prepared to tackle future
endeavors in day-to-day living.
It is well known that India is home to a significant proportion
of youth of the world today. All the imperialists of the world are
eyeing India as a source of technical manpower. They are
looking at our boys and girls as a source of talents at low costs
for their future super profits. If Indian youth make up their
mind and work in close unity with working class people, they
can foil the plans of Imperialism and Bourgeoisie. The plunder
of India can be ended with political power in their hands. The
workers, peasants, women and youth will ensure that there is
work for all. They will ensure that what is produces is geared
towards providing adequacy for all members of society.
Unfortunately no one is bothered to dream any such vision.
Martin Luther has said, "I have a Dream" and the dream come
largely true. If he had not thought of that dream he would
have accomplished nothing in his life. To climb high one has to
think of climbing the Everest. One may not go higher than
10000 feet but even that will not be attained if you have no
better dreams of going up to the top floor of your office in a
life.
Firstly, students in colleges
and universities can educate
the uneducated people.
They can engage in a
universal education program
which may be arranged or
sponsored by the
government, businessmen
and landlords
Secondly, both male and
female students can serve
their country by getting
militarily trained. A
developing country cannot
afford to have a very huge
standing army.
Students in a
developing
country can and
should work for
social and
national progress.
 Thirdly, Students can take part in social welfare
activities for general social progress. A wing of the
social welfare department may advise the different
categories of students about the work they can perform
in their respective fields.
 Fourthly, the senior students can insist the law-
enforcing agencies in their work. For example they can
make reports to price-controlling agencies about the
high prices charged by shopkeepers
 And finally, It is the need of the hour for the
government, social organizations and students to work
in close co-operation for the advancement of the
country.

But these are not just the empty hopes. Modern
science and technology and increasing vistas of Socio
Economic cooperation among nations have brought
these hopes out in the reach of realization. In recent
times Terrorism has emerged as one of the gravest
threat to peace and democratic policy. Youth are
drawn between acts of terrorism. In some cases it is
not the terrorism, but a freedom struggle. This is
how our neighbors are trying to justify its policy of
cross border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Youth
organizations should carry out an awareness
campaign to expose justification or condoning of
terrorism anywhere and under whatever pretext.
A.The youth can play a vital role in the implementation of
elimination of terrorism. If the energy, intelligence and resources of
youth are fully and properly utilized the country will prosper.
B.The youth will have to compete with sporting spirit. Just look at
the spirit of Internationalism that today prevails in the cricketing
world. With the start of any cricket tournament, no matters which
team wins, Cricket wins,Youthfulness will won.The spirit of oneness
will win.
C.The youth would need to Aspire for entrepreneurship rather than
conventional employment.
D.The hopes of young people can be fulfilled only in conditions of
peace, only in a civilized and cooperative world order.
F.Young people have energy to try out things and the
patience to learn from mistakes. Giving them
opportunities to plan, to decide and to work prepares
them to face harsher realities in life.
G.Young participation is important because youth are
the country’s power.Youth recognize problems and can
solve them.Youth are strong forces in social movements.
They educate children about their rights. They help other
young people attain a higher level of Intellectual ability
and to become qualified adults.
E.Young people are full of vibrant ideas. When properly
motivated and sufficiently guided they want in their life.
What should be the vision of Young generation for India 2020?
Vision 2020 says that:
1. Instead of Brain drain, we can be the magnets for bright minds world
over.
2. Our Judicial system could be a model for fairness, promptness and
incorruptibility.
3. Our Legislatures could be an acme of integrity, farsightedness and
purposefulness.
4. Our habitats could be clean with abundant municipal services.
5. Our youth can be the Olympic Champions.
6. We can have 100% Literacy.
7. The Per Capita Income can go up in Geometric Proportions.
8. We can have full employment.

  • 3. • The role of students in developing a country is huge. You can't expect a country to develop if it doesn't have literate people. These students who are studying would be working tomorrow. They would be working for the public, private sector etc . These students would be the pillars on which the country would be standing on. • So the role of students is like building blocks of nation and if they are left unnoticed might cause long term major problems for that country. So don't underestimate a student today and a student won't let you underestimated in future.
  • 4.  The students of today are the future citizens of India. They are the architects of free and modern India.  On the shoulders of the students, a great responsibility lies in building the country.  In good old days, India had its own glory. The culture and civilization of India was well known and well recognized. India enjoyed an evitable position in the world.  However, the British rule crushed our economy and degraded our social system. The glory of India was lost due to foreign domination.
  • 5. As children develop into young adults, they will face many challenges, in their personal, educational and professional lives. Helping youth cope with these challenges and providing them access to quality training programs is one of the goals of the Outdoor Leadership Program organized by the Youth and Sports portfolio of the Ismailia Council for Kenya. The human and material resources required to sustain this programe are critical to its success. These, together with external institutional structures provide the catalyst for compounded growth and continuity. To succeed in this form of programed development, progressive structures, strong human resources, and being flexible in the face of change as better ideas come onto the scene, are necessary requirements. Change is more than just essential, it is vital to reflect our dynamic world. To achieve its goals, the programe has to hold substance and be a benefit to the youth it reaches. The content of the curriculum has to ignite a passion. It has to inculcate positive attributes into the youth whilst taking them outside their comfort zone. This progressive training helps to shape essential ideals that instill qualities of leadership, physical development, creativity, technical skills, outdoor education, social responsibility, volunteerism and discipline.
  • 6. The training is a build-up of experiences that get more challenging as the individual gets older whilst at the same time being consistent in their approach and their core messages. Mahmud Nanji, an Outdoor Leadership instructor, and one of the youth who has himself been through the Programe, commented that “this consistency over time is what eventually develops the individuals into confident, responsible leaders who will be better prepared not only to serve communities but also to lead lives that are model examples.” The opportunities for grooming are numerous in the programs provided by the Outdoor Leadership Programe. They are a chain of little links of knowledge that become powerful tools of utilization. Learning how to use a compass and knowing how to interpret a map eventually lead to learning how to use it in the wilderness. Going into the wilderness means knowing what to take with you and knowing how to make travel arrangements. On getting there one needs to know how to set up camp and cook a
  • 7. Meal. It does not stop there: one needs to be socially responsible by ensuring the environment is safeguarded with responsible techniques. Understanding weather patterns and predicting precarious weather conditions are also important skills. Hiking through the wilderness is exerting and also develops a person's physical endurance. Knowing the names of VARIOUS animals, plants and birdlife develops creativity. Gazing at the constellations at nighttime's provokes discussions of the stars an with it an understanding of astronomy. Climbing trees, ropes and eventually rocks and mountains is not only a physical but also a technical skill. It requires a firm knowledge of knots, safety and technique. It is an art that it perfected with consistency and practice. What this ultimately does is make minds and bodies better prepared to tackle future endeavors in day-to-day living.
  • 8. It is well known that India is home to a significant proportion of youth of the world today. All the imperialists of the world are eyeing India as a source of technical manpower. They are looking at our boys and girls as a source of talents at low costs for their future super profits. If Indian youth make up their mind and work in close unity with working class people, they can foil the plans of Imperialism and Bourgeoisie. The plunder of India can be ended with political power in their hands. The workers, peasants, women and youth will ensure that there is work for all. They will ensure that what is produces is geared towards providing adequacy for all members of society. Unfortunately no one is bothered to dream any such vision. Martin Luther has said, "I have a Dream" and the dream come largely true. If he had not thought of that dream he would have accomplished nothing in his life. To climb high one has to think of climbing the Everest. One may not go higher than 10000 feet but even that will not be attained if you have no better dreams of going up to the top floor of your office in a life.
  • 9. Firstly, students in colleges and universities can educate the uneducated people. They can engage in a universal education program which may be arranged or sponsored by the government, businessmen and landlords Secondly, both male and female students can serve their country by getting militarily trained. A developing country cannot afford to have a very huge standing army. Students in a developing country can and should work for social and national progress.
  • 10.  Thirdly, Students can take part in social welfare activities for general social progress. A wing of the social welfare department may advise the different categories of students about the work they can perform in their respective fields.  Fourthly, the senior students can insist the law- enforcing agencies in their work. For example they can make reports to price-controlling agencies about the high prices charged by shopkeepers  And finally, It is the need of the hour for the government, social organizations and students to work in close co-operation for the advancement of the country.

  • 14. But these are not just the empty hopes. Modern science and technology and increasing vistas of Socio Economic cooperation among nations have brought these hopes out in the reach of realization. In recent times Terrorism has emerged as one of the gravest threat to peace and democratic policy. Youth are drawn between acts of terrorism. In some cases it is not the terrorism, but a freedom struggle. This is how our neighbors are trying to justify its policy of cross border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Youth organizations should carry out an awareness campaign to expose justification or condoning of terrorism anywhere and under whatever pretext.
  • 15. A.The youth can play a vital role in the implementation of elimination of terrorism. If the energy, intelligence and resources of youth are fully and properly utilized the country will prosper. B.The youth will have to compete with sporting spirit. Just look at the spirit of Internationalism that today prevails in the cricketing world. With the start of any cricket tournament, no matters which team wins, Cricket wins,Youthfulness will won.The spirit of oneness will win. C.The youth would need to Aspire for entrepreneurship rather than conventional employment. D.The hopes of young people can be fulfilled only in conditions of peace, only in a civilized and cooperative world order.
  • 16. F.Young people have energy to try out things and the patience to learn from mistakes. Giving them opportunities to plan, to decide and to work prepares them to face harsher realities in life. G.Young participation is important because youth are the country’s power.Youth recognize problems and can solve them.Youth are strong forces in social movements. They educate children about their rights. They help other young people attain a higher level of Intellectual ability and to become qualified adults. E.Young people are full of vibrant ideas.
