Swami Vivekananda is the presenter's role model. Vivekananda was an Indian Hindu monk who introduced Hinduism to America in an 1893 speech. He synthesized strands of Hindu thought like yoga and Vedanta with western ideas. Vivekananda applied religious nationalism to aspects of education, faith, character building, and India's social issues. He influenced both India and the west by introducing yoga. The presenter sees Vivekananda as the ideal role model because he inspires improvement through removing darkness from the mind and enlightening one's path in every aspect of life, not through degrees or discoveries but through thoughts of love, peace and compassion.

MY ROLE MODEL
Narendranath Datta was an Indian Hindu monk,philosopher
and author.
He is perhaps best known for his speech from the Parliament
of Religions of 1893, which began with the words “Sisters
and brothers of America …,”in which he introduced
Hinduism to America.

3. • His teachings and philosophy are a reinterpretation and synthesis of
various strands of Hindu thought, most notably classical yoga and Vedanta,
with western esotericism and Universalism. He blended religion with
nationalism, and applied this reinterpretation to various aspect’s of
education, faith, character building as well as social issues pertaining to
India. His influence extended also to the west, and he was instrumental in
introducing Yoga to the west.

4. WHY DO I SEE HIM AS A ROLE MODEL
• A “role Model” …, cannot be described through words or phrases…nor
with google definitions. A role model is one who always inspires you in every
way of life, he is the one who enlightens your path by removing the darkness
in your mind. We always try to imitate our role model and always wish to be
like him……
• If I was given a chance to live my role model’s life … I would have always
follow his footsteps and improve my inner selves.

5. • My role model influence the whole world … not by his educational degrees
nor by any scientific discoveries or inventions but by his thoughts on love ,
peace and compassion. His deep knowledge of humanity inspires the
whole world. He is no one other than the great Indian saint – Swami
Vivekananda.
