Maruti Dealer Management System, is an application which is hosted on Oracle Application Server, with
Oracle 11g Database, DMS is an application which is managing Maruti’s dealer across all the location in
India, It’s an huge application consist of more than thousands of oracle forms, The database size is almost
more than three TB, with one Physical Standby database as DR, One reporting Database, one failover
database.
Responsibilities:
• Day to Day DBA Activities.
• Ensuring the availability of the Database.
• Monitoring the health of the Database.
• Resolving the day to day database related issues.
• FlashCopy activity in the morning.
• Performance tuning.

3. • Capacity Planning.
• Prepare Change Request(CR) for any change on DB. Send it to OPS team for MSIL approval.
• Prepare and review RCA for all P1 & P2 ticket. Send it to OPS team.
• Monitor the file-system space utilization on all the servers
• Check the crontab jobs daily in morning and send status to MSIL team.
• Monitor file-system space utilization threshold and resolve the issue.
• Adding datafiles to tablespaces crossing threshold.
• If oracle home is reaching threshold then take backup of required files and delete unwanted files.
• If archive location is reaching threshold then resolve the issue by taking RMAN backup of archive log
filesystem or by deleting the old logfiles.
• Monitor active sessions, total sessions, waits and locks in production servers.
• Check the standby database whether it is in sync with production.
• Monitor the CPU and memory utilization of oracle processes running on production databases.
• Deployments in Non-Prod and on Prod environment.
• Upgrade the database and other components when needed after consultation with MSIL to implement such
upgrades.
