Rohit Shetty is an Indian film director and cinematographer known for directing comedy and action films. Some of his most popular films include the Golmaal franchise, Singham, Bol Bachchan, and Chennai Express. He started his career as an assistant director at age 15 and directed his first film Zameen in 2003. Shetty is the son of actor and fight master M.B. Shetty and is married to Maya Shetty. His latest film as director was Singham Returns in 2014, and he has also worked as a producer and television host.

The Media & Entertainment industry is anticipated to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.98 per cent during 2014-18 to reach US$ 32.7 billion. The Indian advertising industry is expected to grow at 13.3 per cent during 2016.
India is the third largest television market in the world with US$ 7.9 billion in revenue. The country has one of the largest broadcasting industries in the world with approximately 800 satellite television channels, 242 FM channels and more than 100 operational community radio networks. The Indian film industry is the largest producer of films globally with 400 production and corporate houses involved in film production.
The Government of India has supported this sector's growth by taking various initiatives such as digitising the cable distribution sector to attract greater institutional funding, increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) limit from 74 per cent to 100 per cent in cable and Direct-to-home (DTH) satellite platforms, and granting industry status to the film industry for easy access to institutional finance.

Career
• He started his career at the age of 17 as an assistant
director with Kuku Kohli during Phool Aur Kaante
(Ajay Devgan's debut film that costarred Madhoo).
• Then he assisted him in Ek Aur Kohinoor, which was
never released. He also worked with him on Suhaag
(Ajay, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor), Haqeeqat
(1995) (Ajay, Tabu) and Zulmi (Akshay, Twinkle
Khanna).
6. • In 2008, he directed his third film, Sunday, starring Devgn,
Warsi and Ayesha Takia. Sunday was a comic-thriller.
• Shetty's second 2008 project, was the sequel to Golmaal,
titled Golmaal Returns. The sequel featured most of the
original cast, except Sharman Joshi, who was replaced by
Shreyas Talpade, and starred Kareena Kapoor. Golmaal
Returns.In 2009, he released All the Best: Fun Begins. In
2010, Shetty directed Golmaal 3.
• Shetty's 2011 Singham also featured Devgn in the title role,
as a Police Inspector fighting against corruption.

show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2014 as the host
taking over from the previous host Akshay Kumar.
